Hennig, solely because its not even fair.

St. Jimmy 12-13-2011 06:21 PM

Hennig is fantastic, but there is no one in their prime who could touch The Naitch.

Gertner 12-13-2011 06:23 PM

Flair. What the fuck is wrong with youe people!!!

RiX1024 12-13-2011 07:12 PM

I know Ric Flair is a legend but Hennig has much better ability than Flair so my vote goes to Hennig.

Corporate CockSnogger 12-13-2011 07:32 PM

Flair bored/bores me like 70% of the time.

whiteyford 12-13-2011 08:24 PM

I agree with the scouser, was always more interested in who Flair was facing than Flair himself.

Rammsteinmad 12-13-2011 08:37 PM

Flair is a legend and I respect what he's done, but same as Iginfest and Whiteyford, most of the time I wasn't interested in him, and usually more in his opponent.

Kane Knight 12-13-2011 08:51 PM

It was actually a tough choice.

Then I remembered the last decade of Flair's work.

Oh, Ric, why didn't you pull a Curt Cobain?

LewisTheTruest 12-13-2011 10:14 PM

Ric Plane Crash Flair!

Aguakate 12-13-2011 11:22 PM

Curt Hennig.

Theo Dious 12-13-2011 11:25 PM

Never been a moment in my life as a wrestling fan that I would rather see Flair than Perfect on my TV.

Gertner 12-13-2011 11:50 PM

This is ridiculous. There's a reason why Hennig was never a World Champ (AWA doesn't count)

Hennig could do anything Flair could have and more. #boldstatement

Lock Jaw 12-14-2011 01:49 AM

Ric Flair is The Man.

4 knuckles up 12-14-2011 02:13 AM

Hennig.

Flair pissed on his legacy by out staying his welcome in the ring. Seeing Flair post 2001 was just fucking terrible. Just why he didn't go into commentary, booking, or any sort of non-wrestling on screen personality is beyond me.

Hate to say this but Henning never had a chance to piss on his legacy. It's like saying Nirvana is better than Led Zeplin.

FourFifty 12-14-2011 04:45 AM

Can I get the kliq to back me up on this? Flair > Henning.

Kurt HENNIG wins

Anybody Thrilla 12-14-2011 11:40 AM

All of Flair's past-his-welcome stay was made worth it at Wrestlemania 24.

Blue Demon 12-14-2011 11:49 AM

Hennig...while I enjoyed some of Flairs work, Hennig could out wrestle Flair and could make a broom stick look good, while Flair was too much of a routine man.

Anybody Thrilla 12-14-2011 11:53 AM

Please don't trick yourself into thinking that Flair wasn't in some great matches.

This feels so weird to be defending him, as I'm not the biggest Flair fan. Still, I know he should win this.

XCaliber 12-14-2011 12:40 PM

Hennig for sure Flair was as overrated as they come.

I'm not saying that Flair wasn't in some good matches....they're just almost all exactly the same.

Gertner 12-14-2011 01:25 PM

Who did Hennig ever "make"?

When was Hennig ever a top tier guy besides in the late80's with Hogan, but their program didn't draw.

Hennig post Mr. Perfect run in WCW was meh.

Flair is probably the greatest heel in wrestling history. He outdrew Hennig massively, was a better wrestler, singlehandedly kept WCW in business, won just about every title created except for the OCW title which is why he still wrestles, and was 10x better on the mic. You people are fucking retarded.

Lock Jaw 12-14-2011 01:32 PM

Also, even though he is old and way past his prime, I would still rather watch Ric Flair than half of the current guys in the WWE/TNA.

Wrong... No one touches the Naitch simply because his heyday way 15 years longer than anyone else in the business... Sadly his TNA stint is a necessary joke...

Innovator 12-14-2011 01:49 PM

The fact that Hennig is leading does not BRING A TEAR TO MY EYE.

Flair is top 3 all-time. Hennig isn't. This is ricockulous.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-14-2011 01:49 PM

Seeing the same arguments that we saw during Eddie Guerrero vs Scott Hall.

Let's keep in mind folks, that while a guy may ruin his legacy by actin a fool later in life, he's still better off than the guy who's DEAD.

Emperor Smeat 12-14-2011 02:04 PM

It's better to burn out than to fade away.

Though I take your point. If there's ever a "more alive" wrestler, I'm totally gonna vote for Flair over Kert Hemming.

Gertner 12-14-2011 05:03 PM

Flair is better at living than Curt.

And actually, that's pretty much the only thing Hall has over Eddie. Not being dead.

Aguakate 12-14-2011 09:39 PM

In terms of charisma, on the mic, and gimmick, they're pretty much equal, to be honest.

And when we go to actual wrestling ability, and it's not even close...Hennig blows Flair away.

Don't laugh. It's true.

Hennig isn't in Flair's league.

Wake Up Call 12-14-2011 11:13 PM

Flair, hands down.

To say Perfect was better than Flair is crazy, oh wait, Rick is in TNA, and we all know what you people think of TNA

Gertner 12-14-2011 11:19 PM

So was Hennig, and TNA is horseshit.

James Steele 12-14-2011 11:29 PM

This is fucking ridiculous. Ric Flair is better than Triple H for fucks sake.

Lock Jaw 12-14-2011 11:35 PM

I don't get the argument that "Ric Flair shat on his legacy".

How does him overstaying past his prime have any effect on your enjoyment of his previous works? Of all the entertainment you got from him?

It's like... I dunno.... saying that just because the new Star Wars Trilogy was shit, that it makes the Original Star Wars Trilogy shit too.

Theo Dious 12-15-2011 12:50 AM

You know this brings up something that's nagged me for a while; why does there seem to be no love for the Flair/Perfect career-ending match on Raw? I seem to recall that match being pretty damn sweet yet I never see it given any props. The finish with Perfect whipping out the surprise Perfect-Plex and Bobby Heenan going apeshit was fantastic.

Juan 12-15-2011 12:54 AM

That match is on the Raw 15th Anniversary DVD. It's awesome

Great, now I have to buy that.

Why isn't it on Perfect's DVD, or either of Flair's???

Theo Dious 12-15-2011 01:24 AM

LOL Just found it on YouTube. Great quality. Vince McMahon is shilling for the Sci-Fi channel.

The Bret Hart/Mr Perfect match at Summerslam was awesome, too.

I get your point, but at the same time, when I compare any two wrestlers for something like this- I have to weigh up their good points and bad points.

To use your Star Wars analogy, it would be like saying the whole franchise was amazing, but ignoring the new trilogy and shitty spin-offs...

Maybe I'm overexposed to it for owning FIVE DVDS that it appears on (Count them: the actual SummerSlam DVD, Bret's DVD, the Hart Family DVD, the IC Title DVD, and Perfect's DVD, and there's probably more!) but that match doesn't do much for me. It was definitely a great match, but to me Bret had many better matches; Bret vs Davey in Wembley, Bret vs Piper at WM8, and Bret vs Owen at WMX all spring to mind.) Granted, it may have been due to Pefect being banged up that it wasn't more than it could have been, but my favorite part of that match has always been this exchange:

Monsoon: Concerned look on the face of Stu and Helen Hart as they watch.
Heenan: You know why they're concerned? They snuck in! They scared the usher will find them!

Ok not really my favorite, and it was a great match, but it's definitely a bit overpublished.

3 Gertner accounts have voted for Flair and Hennig is still 3 in front.

Aaaand if you're evaluating the whole series, you have to look at both.

Similarly, the Indiana Jones series takes a hit from Crystal Skull, and depending on who you are Temple of Doom. Nobody would claim these series were flawless by ignoring the clunkers.

You may have spent years being entertained by Star Wars, but if you were to call the series as a whole brilliant, you'd probably be laughed at by anyone with any ability to reason.

Which is why the same really should hold true for Flair. And why your logic falls flat. I know Gertie's just playing his gimmick, but you actually seemed to put a kernel of thought into it.

Is Jurassic Park a movie that stands the test of time and remains excellent? Yes. Is the Jurassic Park franchise? Fuck no.

Apply the same critical standards to Flair and....

Lock Jaw 12-15-2011 12:46 PM

And I will still vote for him over Hennig.

Gertner 12-15-2011 12:52 PM

Hennig wasn't very good or relevant after he left the WWF

You just hate him because he's underground.

...I feel dirty.

Gertner 12-15-2011 01:08 PM

No way man! I was a fan before he was even famous! But now he's just trendy and sold out!

Innovator 12-15-2011 01:32 PM

HE WAS AWESOME IN THE AWA WHEN HE WENT TO WWF HE WAS TOO WATERED DOWN AND DIDN'T COMPLETE HIS MOVESET AND HIS WORKRATE DROPPED.

Gertner 12-15-2011 01:39 PM

His match with Greg Gagne was 6 stars! Waaaaaay better than the "sports entertainment" crap that we are force fed today!

KIRA 12-15-2011 03:21 PM

Ive only just really gotten to see Mr.Perfects work and I love it Flair is entertaining and all but hes such a shell and a prime example of what not to do

at his age he should be in wrestling cause he loves it not because he has to pay off his next ex wife.

I say Hennig

Ermaximus 12-15-2011 03:29 PM

He wasn't all that bad in WCW. He was US Champion and I don't know what else.

Hennig was completely underwhelming in WCW. We don't really want to compare his tenure there to Ric Flair's, do we?

He was a Horseman at some point wasn't he?

Supreme Olajuwon 12-16-2011 12:41 AM

Ya, he was part of a really heartful promo by Arn Anderson where Arn gave Hennig his spot in the Horsemen. Then Hennig joined the nWo at Fall Brawl.

I like not having every match be the same old shit. So, here is your winner MR. PERFECT! If Flair wasn't the big fish in the little pond for so long he wouldn't have been as over. It was the right place and the right time.

weather vane 12-16-2011 01:50 AM

awful voting here

Seth82 12-16-2011 02:08 AM

it's pathetic that Hennig is winning this

Flair could fucking wrestle a broom and have a great match

you guys need to watch Flair during his prime in the 80s

He made Steamboat and Sting

Lock Jaw 12-16-2011 02:16 AM

Another classic "be ashamed of TPWW" moment brought to you by "Better Wrestler".

This is the lamest excuse.

Show me a wrestler who doesn't do the same moves every time he wrestles

This is NOT Ric Flair vs Curt Hennig, btw. This is Ric Flair vs Dead Curt Hennig. If both were alive or if both were deceased, there is no possible way Curt Hennig would go over Ric Flair. Come the fuck on.

Sadly, this reasoning makes just as much sense as a lot of other reasoning in this thread.

I know this is all opinion based, and we're all entitled to our own. I love Curt Hennig's work. That said, some of you are dumb as fuck. Just saying.

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2011 03:27 PM

How dare Ric Flair still be wrestling to this day?!?!?! He should have died from drugs like Mr. Perfect!

Wasnt it a heart attack? :shifty:
