That reads like a really fresh list. Also, Gertner might go as far as to predict the end of the company now.

I say have him lose it on RAW tomorrow.

Just terrible.

All I can hope for is that he loses it before Wrestlemania and is not going to be in one of the main events.

Aguakate 12-19-2011 12:27 AM

Having Punk as WWE Champion and Daniel Bryan as WHC kinda reminds me of when Eddie Guerrero was WWE Champion and Chris Benoit WHC.

Xero 12-19-2011 12:32 AM

No way he's holding it to Mania, but I don't care. He's world champion, CM Punk is WWE Champion. Can't take away from the fact that, at this very moment in time, two internet/indy darlings are holding the two biggest titles in the company.

BizarroKing 12-19-2011 12:39 AM

I just thought of something.....isn't Final Battle coming up this week?

Coincidence?

Aguakate 12-19-2011 12:40 AM

It's a little weird (or not) how WWE began paying attention to the Internet, and the product is all of a sudden better.

Xero 12-19-2011 12:43 AM

The only real difference between Eddie and Benoit and Punk and Bryan is that the former were on a national stage in WCW. They were still the indy/internet darlings, and nobody thought either one would cut it in WWE's eyes.

Don't care what anybody says, without CM Punk and Daniel Bryan there would be very little in WWE today for me to care about. Other things are good, but those two are the ones that make me want to watch, they're the ones that remind me there are guys who love and know professional wrestling in WWE and care for it more than a lot other guys.

I meant it in that all four are/were smaller guys who can/could actually wrestle.

@peta The dogs are enclosed in the pool area, gate is closed cause I don't want Fuzzykins and Munchkin to get hurt. Left them meat-free meals for three days and plenty of water.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-19-2011 01:06 AM

Which group had it easier being an indy internet darling or being shit on constantly in WCW?

Xero 12-19-2011 01:07 AM

At least Benoit and Eddie got to go when they were the undercard in WCW because no one higher up really gave a shit about the undercard.

Swiss Ultimate 12-19-2011 01:10 AM

WCW put the world title on Benoit when they realized that they needed him. Similar to CM Punk this year?

Source: Prowrestling.net

According to sources, Mark Henry was injured during a match with John Cena on RAW last Monday. That appears to be the reason for the title change at the WWE TLC PPV.
The source notes that the injury was “a pull in the groin area,” and tests last week revealed that the injury was more serious than originally thought.

Going into the weekend, WWE’s creative team apparently wanted Henry to be given a lighter workload for the next few weeks to allow the injury to heal. Vince McMahon nixed that and made the decision to do a title change. Most people expect Daniel Bryan’s title reign to be short-lived due to this.

Brian “Road Dogg” James noted last week that Henry was taken to the hospital to “have his ankle scoped”.

More as we get it.
Short-lived title reign = :y:

Providence Peep 12-19-2011 01:15 AM

Wait, so according to sources, Cena pulled Henry's groin on RAW? Or, was that in the locker room after the show?

BizarroKing 12-19-2011 01:16 AM

This could also explain why Henry's match with Show seemed so short. Still don't see why they didn't just keep the belt on Big Show though if this is in fact the case.

According to ProWrestling.net, the reason why WWE decided to book the World Title switch at tonight's TLC PPV is because Mark Henry is legitimately hurt.

Henry suffered what's being described as a pull in the groin area, which he reportedly suffered during his match against John Cena on Raw this past Monday night. After having the injury evaluated, it turned out to be more serious than originally thought.

It's being said that a majority of the creative team wanted to allow Henry to work a lighter schedule in order to let the injury heal, however Vince McMahon was said to be less sympathetic and decided to book the title switch at TLC tonight.

#1-norm-fan 12-19-2011 01:47 AM

I'm already awaiting Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton being announced in the first segment of Smackdown this week and experiencing deja vu...

#1-norm-fan 12-19-2011 01:49 AM

And if Wade Barrett wins the title, my pick for the Rumble winner instantly becomes Sheamus. Because Sheamus is awesome right now. And I'd like to see him win the world title from a heel at WM.

Aguakate 12-19-2011 01:55 AM

Speaking of the Royal Rumble...

I wonder if, since John Cena alread has that match with The Rock, it means he won't participate in the Rumble.

Also, while I had a thought come to me where I could see Jericho making a surprise entry and winning in order ro face Punk, I now think it could be Dolph Ziggler who goes on to win the RR. Him losing the US Title quite possibly means that he will enter the main event picture now.

So he'll either feud with Punk now, or they can wait 'til the Rumble and have him win.

Fuck you guys. Same shit different wrestler. Guarantee when Barrett/Ziggler/Cody wins their first title you'll whinge about that too. Give the guy a chance first to see how they book him/he carries the title.

Xero 12-19-2011 02:25 AM

Ziggler was already WHC. That worked out so well.

Tazz Dan 12-19-2011 02:27 AM

That comment is a joke right? Cause seriously, I give you much more credit than that.

Xero 12-19-2011 02:29 AM

Sort of. Ziggler technically is a former WHC.

#1-norm-fan 12-19-2011 02:29 AM

But really, build should come before a title win. They've got it ass backwards. The only reason I wanted Bryan vs Henry at WrestleMania was because the David vs Goliath build would have been more than enough to make Bryan the "talk of the town" and thus justify his title win.

Tazz Dan 12-19-2011 02:31 AM

They could still have Henry chase Bryan to get his title back....

Swiss Ultimate 12-19-2011 02:36 AM

Ermaximus 12-19-2011 02:40 PM

I honestly see Ziggler or Barrett taking the title off Bryan at EC.

Emperor Smeat 12-19-2011 03:00 PM

He'll probably lose it earlier because after EC is Mania itself and I doubt the WWE wants him in one of the main event matches this early.

He can lose it at the Rumble and then challenge again at the chamber which could free up the spot for the Rumble winner (Sheamus, Big Show, or Orton) to challenge at Mania.
