Are there any ex-ECW/WCW stars from back in the day who still have 'something to offer'
 

Was watching the dvd of a wrestling show in Germany in 2009 which had Steve Corino on it, and the audience were treating him like a god. Like seriously, you'd think he'd be on the same level as Hogan, Austin, Flair and Michaels etc. But realistically Steve Corino was what? An upper-midcard ECW guy for a couple of years... at best. (?)

Anyways, a bit of topic there... the whole thing just made me wonder if there are still any ex-ECW/WCW guys that you guys think can still bring something to the table. Or that can still be 'relevant' today.

Shockingly, the first name that comes to mind for me is Shannon Moore. A quick Wikipedia search tells me he is only 32 years old! :eek: Feels like he's been around forever! He still has a few good years left in him, nothing's really stopping him from ever achieving more success in TNA or an eventual WWE return.

So anyways, discuss.

Still think Rhino was wasted in WWE, the gore was over and he was pretty solid in the ring. Seemed like he was a due a push before his injury and then he got released.

Really? Don't remember this. Can't be bothered to check either, so I'll take your word for it. He's still pretty irrevelant though (except, for his use as an example in my thread).

I still believe that the Dudley Boyz have something more to offer than just a name, but if you're looking for someone closer to the unemployment line, I'm gonna say no dice. The wrestling industry needs to focus on the stars of next year.
Let's face it- we don't want to watch John Cena with a receding hair line saying "The Champ Is Here" as a 60 year old man grabs the bling belt. We know that The Undertaker is bound for retirement anytime soon. Triple H is also on his way out. Orton is still solid (albeit I knew how he landed the RKO would bite him on the ass, or back), as is Del Rio (Also out for the time being).
TNA cannot expect a solid main event scene in 5 years from Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair. They should look more towards (INSERT 3-4 RANDOM TNA NAMES HERE ALONG WITH BEER MONEY) to take over the main event. It'll also save them cash when they can phase out Hogan and Flair's paychecks.

TNA's main events in 5 years will probably be held in a half empty high school gym so Shannon Moore being a main eventer would work.

If brought in for nostalgia yes, for in-ring no. WCW/ECW closed down 11 years ago. Thats a pretty long time when it comes to the wear and tear of someones body. The people that we wanted to see in WWE we already, for the most part. Whether they were handled right or wrong is a different story.

Lots of different people could be thrown in to todays storylines, Booker T is a perfect example, but they really would only have a short stint worth of action.

Although I hear that guy Seven from WCW might be making a comeback soon.

Nova/Simon Dean is pretty happy where he is not wrestling except for fun. Does audio on PWInsider once in a while. He actually worked in the WWE offices for a while.

Steve Corino won the title from Jerry Lynn at ECW's November To Remember in November 2000. He would hold onto the title for a little over two months, before losing the title to The Sandman at ECW last pay-per-view, Guilty As Charged in January 2001.

RVD is phoning it in for TNA. If WWE offered him something I'm sure he'd pick his fitness regimen back up and take it to a new level. Not on a touring basis, but for a 'last hurrah' level.

Steve Corino isn't really doing much in ROH currently.

Steve Corino seems like a guy that is constantly evolving his character, so I think he's got about as much chance as anyone at being relevant.

I'm not going to lie -- I'd mark out for a Rhyno comeback. Even if Christian brought him back to be his "Beast on a Leash" that Gores people he doesn't like. Bully Ray has also matured into an all-round amazing performer in TNA, as well.

Mark Jindrak was always a solid wrestler and never really got a legitimate shot. I'd like to see him back in the WWE. The same goes for Sean O'Haire.

Bobby Eaton hasn't even entered his prime yet. He's still got a lot to offer.

Sean O'Haire was always one of my favorites. I thought he had championship potential.

I was a HUUUUUGE O'Haire mark back in the day. I definitely remember thinking/hoping/knowing he'd be a huge star one day. :(

Those guys have always been the workhorses for ECW, WCW, and WWF. They have always been willing to help out the younger talent, all the while put on good matches against them, win or lose. And Bobby was one of the first people to put over Austin when he first joined WCW, even dropping the World TV title to him.

That's what Cody Rhodes needs to take that step to the next level, a feud against Bobby Eaton.

Then he can feud with the whole Armstrong gang before jobbing the title to Bullet Bob

I remember being disappointed when they kinda ditched him with the rest of the Alliance guys, and then he came back with Rowdy, thinking they had some major plans for him.... then he disappeared again.

Id like to see Raven as a manager,not gonna happen after the lawsuit but he'd be a great mouth piece for someone.

Always felt Lodi's sign ideas could really freshen up the stale lower midcard scene.

Majority of the Luchadores from the mid 90s, to include the few that were apart of WWE for a short time, are still wrestling in Mexico and would be great to see again. LA Park (WCW's La Parka), Halloween, Damian, Cibernetico, Silver Cain (Silver King), Lizmark jr, Psychosis, Juvi, X Fly, Hector Garza, are all still going strong. If TNA picked 3 or 4 and added them to the X Division or made a couple of tag teams, it would add a new dynamic to their roster. There is still an audience who enjoy Lucha Libre in America and it would be a good idea for one company to capitalize on that.

• Marty Jannetty has wrestled in WWE multiple times dating back to 2005. He offered nothing more than nostalgia pops and was still overshadowed by Shawn Michaels. I also think he gave his all to wrestling while plying his trade in AWA and WWF from the 80s to early 90s.
• Brad Armstrong appeared on ECW on Sci-Fi as an announcer and was shitcanned after like 1-2 weeks. He is a major contributor to WWE currently as a "producer" and trainer.
• Bobby Eaton is loyal to Jim Cornette and Jim Cornette feels utter scorn towards WWE. Also, Bobby Eaton is a shell of his former self and only woman with grey forests on their vaginas would care to see him again.
• Stevie Richards' greatest fame came from his WWE tenure when he was a member of the J.O.B. Squad, lead The Right to Censor, helped get Victoria over in 2002-2003, and was the main attraction on the highly rated "Stevie Night HeAT" programme.He proved that his is nothing without Paul Heyman or Vince McMahon behind him because his tenure in TNA was a joke and lowered his value to WWE by leaps and bounds. I am surprised he isn't currently jacking off Justin Credible in the walk-in freezer at Olive Garden.
