most realistic (but still entertaining) matches youve seen

I think sawa v danielson last year looked so good. It wasn't over the top with a million finishers, but everything they did just looked perfect. My dad and his friend watched it and were like .. is this real? Same with Bobby fish v danielson.
just about anything from ajpw in the early 90s or njpw is very tight and legit.

I really love the wide world of sport but it may be a little slow for some. I love pure wrestling :)

CSL 01-19-2012 12:00 PM

it's just "World of Sport"

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:19 PM

Oh I don't know why I wrote that lolz. The in ring announcers don't make it seem like wrestling but a gentlemens duel lol

Corporate CockSnogger 01-19-2012 12:23 PM

Bart Gunn vs Butterbean

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:27 PM

OK maybe I should say best worked pro wrestling match that looked realistic.

Kane vs. Undertaker: Inferno Match

that n</>igga was definitely on fire

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:32 PM

You are making a mockery of the sport of pro wrestling

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:32 PM

I'm just kidding lolz

Supreme Olajuwon 01-19-2012 12:33 PM

are you saying he wasn't on fire?

he was clearly on fire

dunno how more real you want

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:37 PM

Yeah but that's more of a realistic spot... if that even...

Talking about a full match that ya know was a work but seemed like every move was legit.

Pretty realistic.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-19-2012 12:37 PM

well the flames shot up every time they hit a big move so I dunno what more you want

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:39 PM

Lmao yr all crazy.

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 12:39 PM

I love you guys. But does anyone want to participate in a productive way?

Supreme Olajuwon 01-19-2012 12:44 PM

What? I provided the best example that you haven't topped. Please find a more realistic looking match than one where guy was actually set on fire.

If you can't, then stop trolling my thread.

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 01:11 PM

I could pull up about 1500 bjpw matches if that's yr sense of realism or Czw for that matter.

CZW: "Hey I'll stand here like a jackas</>s while someone smashes a florescent light on my face."

Rammsteinmad 01-19-2012 01:32 PM

I saw a German Stampede Wrestling DVD from a few years back, it had Steve Corino vs. Doug Williams on it, and they basically chain-wrestled for 20 minutes. It was ████ing awesome, and certainly what I think Clox is getting at in this thread.

MoFo 01-19-2012 01:34 PM

Jericho v HBK when he beat the ████ out of him.

Then he punched his wife a month later.

████ just got reallllll

Definitely the most realistic but entertaining match I've ever seen. One of my all time favorites.

DLVH84 01-19-2012 01:43 PM

Japan-wise, I'd say Hashimoto vs. Choshu (either from the 1996 G1 Climax or the 1/4/97 Tokyo Dome show).
America-wise, I'd say Flair vs. Steamboat (any of them between 1989 and 1994).

James Steele 01-19-2012 02:49 PM

Triple H vs Shawn Michaels - Unsanctioned Street Fight at SummerSlam 2002

Extremely realistic considering the focus on the back and the brawling nature of it (being a street fight and all).

Corporate CockSnogger 01-19-2012 02:55 PM

Edge vs Matt Hardy

Best match I have ever seen. Bar none.

James Steele 01-19-2012 03:23 PM

James Steele's Top 5 Matches

1. Triple H vs Shawn Michaels - SummerSlam 2002
2. Triple H vs Steve Austin - No Way Out 2001
3. Triple H vs Undertaker - WrestleMania X-Seven
4. Ric Flair vs Triple H - World Title Match RAW in Greenville, SC (May 19, 2003)
5. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker - WrestleMania 25 (When they made me believe for a second that Undertaker was going to lose by countout...amazing)

James Steele 01-19-2012 03:26 PM

Ric Flair vs Triple H - World Title Match RAW in Greenville, SC (May 19, 2003) was pretty realistic and told an amazing story (the build was just during that episode of RAW but it was truly brilliant)

Clox, I sit here trying to recover from having my appendix removed, and all I can do is wish bad and horrible things on you.

This too

Indifferent Clox 01-19-2012 10:08 PM

Hey Hanso. Thank you for directing your wishes specifically to me and not to my family. You are truly a stand up ███████.

Fox 01-20-2012 01:17 AM

The one where New Jack legitimately tried to kill that guy by pushing him off the scaffold.

Also, the Mass Transit incident.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 02:41 AM

Clarification: this isn't about violence its about form.

Captain of Fun 01-20-2012 02:55 AM

Are you talking matches that look like real fights or just stiff? Because AJPW 90's was just stiff.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-20-2012 02:57 AM

Lemme tell ya about stiff. Setting a dude on fire. That is Stiffly Stifferson territory right there.

Captain of Fun 01-20-2012 03:02 AM

Whatever, I could totally no sell fire.

The MAC 01-20-2012 03:06 AM

BRET /AUSTIN Wrestlemania 13

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 04:10 AM

Stiffness may be part of it. But world Of sport certainly wasn't stiff.

Destor 01-20-2012 04:12 AM

nothing with davey richards in it thats for sure

like hell, watch Jim Breaks sometime.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 04:17 AM

Yeah. That's hyper realism. Which I like but I can see how it turns some off. That stuff is like ' OK wink wink we know ya know its a work.so we are going to, instead of being larger than.life with our bodies and personality, be larger than life with our fighting spirit or what have you."

I think tjp v sawa at evolve 1 looked reasonably legit.

Low ki v athu obviously LOL.

But Im really not talking about strikes here talking about like realistic chaining, stuff that makes smart fans mark.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 04:19 AM

I have only seen Johnny saints matches in world of sport and I don't recall many strikes or even all that many bumps. But please link me up!

Finlay v steen at bola was good too.

Destor 01-20-2012 04:19 AM

british wrestling is def the mecca of pure wrestling

I agree, British wrestling does not get much credit these days. Good old World of Sport.

not bad. I also liked their Last Man Standing match at the 2004 Royal Rumble.

Xero 01-20-2012 01:33 PM

So does Clox like everything that isn't mainstream American style?

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 01:52 PM

I like mainstream American wrestling more now than in the past 8 years.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 01:53 PM

I just don't think mainstream American style has what it takes to bring on a new Wrestling heyday.

Anybody Thrilla 01-20-2012 01:57 PM

I always find myself bringing this match up, but John Morrison v. Evan Bourne on J-Mo's last night in ECW just made so much sense all the way through.

Yup, amazing technical wrestling has always been at the forefront of every wrestling boom period.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 02:12 PM

Yeah. But ya know what's different? Mma wasn't prominent then and for the most part TV wasn't nearly as good.

Damndirty 01-20-2012 02:26 PM

ECW-Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka!!!!!!! Fuckin Tanaka breaks his arm and keeps fighting, and even after winning the Heavyweight title, just holds his arm screaming for the next five minutes or so instead of celebrating (did later though).

So in your mind, Davey Richards & Kyle O'Reilly kicking each other and playing UFC would outdraw something like Austin/McMahon/the next "hot program" in today's climate with WWE's audience? You fucking clown. Is there seriously not some Johnny Kickpadz forum you can go and join to worship on?

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 02:37 PM

No not Kyle o Reilly and Richards. More like dgusa. A bit of everything.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 02:38 PM

I don't the next heyday will be in today's climate. You are really Kane knighting it up with yr assumptions csl.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 02:38 PM

It will require either better writers or better in ring action.

outside of the "climate" part, it wasn't much of an assumption was it

better writing arguably, better in ring action bollocks

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 03:30 PM

OK. So why not get rid of the wrestling aspect all together. If wrestling isn't over.

Anybody Thrilla 01-20-2012 03:42 PM

I think Brodus Clay can spark the next boom period.

what the fuck are you even talking about here?

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 04:04 PM

Am I correct in assuming that you don't think the wrestling style has affected ratings at all?

Anybody Thrilla 01-20-2012 04:13 PM

If anything, I'd say that the quality of wrestling today is much better than it was during the biggest booms.

Indifferent Clox 01-20-2012 04:21 PM

Maybe as a whole. But the matches are shorter. And the styles not as varied. You had cruiserweights, technical Gods, stiff ish, big brawlers etc.

Best wrestlers now
Dolph
Bryan
Rhodes
Bourne
Orton

Top in the nineties
Hart
Michael's
bulldog
Davey boy
Jericho
malenko
benoit
regal
Guerrero

I could go on

Anybody Thrilla 01-20-2012 04:38 PM

So what?
