I think sawa v danielson last year looked so good. It wasn't over the top with a million finishers, but everything they did just looked perfect. My dad and his friend watched it and were like .. is this real? Same with Bobby fish v danielson.
just about anything from ajpw in the early 90s or njpw is very tight and legit.

I saw a German Stampede Wrestling DVD from a few years back, it had Steve Corino vs. Doug Williams on it, and they basically chain-wrestled for 20 minutes. It was ████ing awesome, and certainly what I think Clox is getting at in this thread.

Definitely the most realistic but entertaining match I've ever seen. One of my all time favorites.

Japan-wise, I'd say Hashimoto vs. Choshu (either from the 1996 G1 Climax or the 1/4/97 Tokyo Dome show).
America-wise, I'd say Flair vs. Steamboat (any of them between 1989 and 1994).

Triple H vs Shawn Michaels - Unsanctioned Street Fight at SummerSlam 2002

Extremely realistic considering the focus on the back and the brawling nature of it (being a street fight and all).

If anything, I'd say that the quality of wrestling today is much better than it was during the biggest booms.

Maybe as a whole. But the matches are shorter. And the styles not as varied. You had cruiserweights, technical Gods, stiff ish, big brawlers etc.
