Django Unchained

It's still RELATIVELY EARLY. But can't wait for this one. It's a Tarantino flick, and I generally like most of his stuff.

No trailers yet but DiCaprio as the lead badguy against a former slave turned bounty hunter played by Jamie Foxx..I mean CMOnnnn, a former slave turned BOUNTY HUNTER! IM SOLD. And the rest of the cast looks solid.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1853728/

Requiem 03-25-2012 06:16 PM

Ugh.. Jamie Foxx? Really?

CSL 03-25-2012 06:18 PM

what exactly is wrong with Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx?

PorkSoda 03-25-2012 08:08 PM

Nothing.

Sacha Baron Cohen, Gordon-Levitt, Kurt-Freaking-Russel, and Samuel L. Jackson? Hell yeah.

Also, I'm a Kerry Washington fan

Crimson 03-25-2012 08:34 PM

And Christopher frickin Waltz

ClockShot 03-25-2012 09:42 PM

Sukiyaki Western Django wasn't that great.

What makes this any better?

Juan 03-25-2012 10:31 PM

Been waiting forever for this. <3 Quentin Tarantino

Buzzkill 03-26-2012 12:30 AM

I read the script about a month back, it could honestly be his best movie yet. It's gonna be fucking crazy

I agree but it's an entirely different story and with the actors casted then it should be at the very least as good as Inglorious Basterds.

Cuz its a different movie with different actors and a different script and a different director and a different plot

Nicky Fives 03-27-2012 08:19 PM

Should be pretty good..... anything with Leo usually is.....he gets all the breaks.....

Kris P Lettus 03-30-2012 08:44 AM

Got called for it but was already booked on Oblivion (untitled Tom Cruise Project)..

Blitz 04-03-2012 09:36 PM

Malfeitor 04-11-2012 10:30 PM

It's Quentin. It'll be gold.

Here's the trailer gentlemen. Unfortunate they could'nt get all the good actors in there like Kurt Russell, but should still be decent.

Juan 06-06-2012 10:16 PM

YES!

RP 06-08-2012 03:23 AM

Just read they originally wanted Will Smith.

jbizness 06-08-2012 04:33 AM

I know I'll take flack for this, but I'm only cautiously optimistic. We all love Tarantino, but Inglorious Bastards was way too long and fucking boring

I read that there will be surprise actors. Maybe he will still show up.

I will definitely watch this.

Corporate CockSnogger 06-08-2012 04:17 PM

Not Tartantinos biggest fan in all honesty. I'll see this eventually because I like a lot of the cast though.

M.C Gainey was in that trailer and Omar Little from The Wire is apparently going to be in this as well.

Triple Naitch 06-08-2012 11:00 PM

Why does Jamie Foxx not have any sort of hint of an African accent?

Listened to the start of this and expected Sting to be the lead actor.

Crimson 06-09-2012 03:06 PM

Kinda feel they gave away too much in the trailer. Hope there's some suprises for us.

thedamndest 06-09-2012 05:47 PM

I think I already watched this movie except it was called Inglorious Basterds.

This, except since I have not seen The Wire he is Chalky White from Boardwalk Empire to me

Corporate CockSnogger 06-10-2012 07:41 AM

lol @ my 'Tartantino' typo

Skippord 06-10-2012 07:44 AM

Inglourious Basterds is my personal favorite of his so far to be honest. I am very much looking forward to Django Unchained. Basterds is actually in my top five movies. I know many wouldn't rank it that high, but I've seen it so many times. I just love the dialogue, characters, and the crazy action sequences that follow the dialogue. It's very well put together in my opinion.

Triple Naitch 06-16-2012 02:30 PM

How would you rank the Tarantino movies?

I agree. I never get tired of watching it..so good, better than alot of movies i'm sure "experts" would rank higher.

I'd rank his top 5 like this, in my personal order
1. Inglorious Basterds
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Reservoir Dogs
4. Jackie Brown
5. True Romance

YOUR Hero 12-31-2012 10:57 AM

anyone else go see Django Unchained

besides me

What did you think of it?

Blitz 12-31-2012 11:01 AM

Awesome.

ClockShot 12-31-2012 11:03 AM

Great movie.

When I went, there were 5 black women down in the front row. And with all the sterotypes being thrown around in this movie, I had them walking out within the first hour.

Surprisingly, they made it through the whole movie.

Savio 12-31-2012 11:26 AM

Yes I did. Also the white hood scene was hilarioussss

Krimzon7 12-31-2012 01:31 PM

This movie was goddamn amazing! The German stole every scene he was in. DiCaprio was amazing, and Foxx held his own as Django. The best job in the whole movie was done by Samuel L Jackson. He was literally the most despicable nigga in the history of film.

Zeeboe 12-31-2012 08:32 PM

Just got back from watching "Django Unchained". Great film. I highly recommend it to history/Quentin Tarantino fans. (I'm both of those, so you know I enjoyed it.)

I love the film and I don't mean to nit-pick, but as a serious student of the American Civil War, a certain goof bothered me. The text at the start of the film listed 1858, and below in text it said "Two years before the Civil War". I really desired to whisper loudly "THREE YEARS!" as if anyone who made the film could hear me. The fact that no one who needed to hear that, but couldn't, followed by the fact that I dislike anyone who talks during films restrained me for voicing my thoughts on the blooper.

Other then that, I can state that there was nothing in the film that was not true in regards of slavery.

Krimzon7 12-31-2012 09:34 PM

Zeeboe, did you notice that they used Winchester rifles in Django? If this was pre Civil War, Winchester rifles were not invented! THAT SHIT KEPT BOTHERING ME.

Zeeboe 12-31-2012 09:38 PM

Are you nit-picking my nit-picking?

Krimzon7 12-31-2012 09:41 PM

no, not really. Just was wondering if I was the only asshat that caught this. Which scene are you refering to that made you choke? Spoilers tags please for all the pussies that are apt to complain about that type of thing sir.

Zeeboe 12-31-2012 09:44 PM

I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic with me or not, but regardless - The goof I saw is not that big of a deal to me. Again, I am just a major American Civil War history buff. I am sure most people are not even going to notice the blooper.

I even wonder if it was put in there on purpose because it could be a characteristic of the classic grindhouse films that QT admires. Often in those types of films errors were often made so the "errors" in QT's case could be intentional. The fact that we the audience don't know if they are or not makes it all the more appealing.

Krimzon7 12-31-2012 09:50 PM

Interesting viewpoint sir. So it was more of an Easter Egg type of thing for you. How about that scene sir!

Zeeboe 12-31-2012 09:53 PM

I also enjoyed the cameos by Ted Neeley and Robert Carradine. I am a huge fan of "Jesus Christ Superstar" where Neeley plays Jesus and is beyond epic in the role. Then Carradine of course became famous for his role in the "Revenge of the Nerds" films.

That's one of the many appealing things about QT and his films - He always casts the coolest people, even for small roles.

Krimzon7 12-31-2012 09:56 PM

I found that Jonah Hill Cameo to be perfect. I almost Missed Tarantino in his cameo. I was so engrossed in the movie at that time.

YOUR Hero 01-01-2013 03:44 PM

Really enjoyed it. Was a little long at about the 3/5th point, but picked up again soon enough. I was laughing so loud at the scene with the hoods. ROFL.

Evil Vito 01-01-2013 05:27 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Fantastic film. I still have yet to dislike a Tarantino movie.</font>

James Steele 01-02-2013 03:41 AM

I enjoyed the film and also found the hoods scene hilarious.

Me too. I rarely enjoy films that are too long, but I loved every second of Django.

Crimson 01-05-2013 01:37 AM

Jesus I havent seen the movie yettttt..can't wait tho. I knew it'd be good but not this good from reading peoples' reactions

Skippord 01-05-2013 02:10 AM

is Django in fact off the chain? want to be sure before I see it

Krimzon7 01-05-2013 02:28 AM

Yes he is off the chain. He also let the dogs out. Not even kidding

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-10-2013 05:40 PM
