Django Unchained
It's still RELATIVELY EARLY. But can't wait for this one. It's a Tarantino flick, and I generally like most of his stuff.
No trailers yet but DiCaprio as the lead badguy against a former slave turned bounty hunter played by Jamie Foxx..I mean CMOnnnn, a former slave turned BOUNTY HUNTER! IM SOLD. And the rest of the cast looks solid. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1853728/ |
Ugh.. Jamie Foxx? Really?
|
what exactly is wrong with Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx?
|
Nothing.
Sacha Baron Cohen, Gordon-Levitt, Kurt-Freaking-Russel, and Samuel L. Jackson? Hell yeah. Also, I'm a Kerry Washington fan |
And Christopher frickin Waltz
|
Sukiyaki Western Django wasn't that great.
What makes this any better? |
Been waiting forever for this. <3 Quentin Tarantino
|
I read the script about a month back, it could honestly be his best movie yet. It's gonna be fucking crazy

|
No trailer cause they just started shooting like 3 weeks ago in NOLA and shoot until the end on July..
Got called for it but was already booked on Oblivion (untitled Tom Cruise Project).. |
|
|
The cast of the movie is pretty insane..
|
It's Quentin. It'll be gold.

Here's the trailer gentlemen. Unfortunate they could'nt get all the good actors in there like Kurt Russell, but should still be decent. |
YES!
|
Just read they originally wanted Will Smith.
|
I know I'll take flack for this, but I'm only cautiously optimistic. We all love Tarantino, but Inglorious Bastards was way too long and fucking boring

I will definitely watch this.

Not Tartantinos biggest fan in all honesty. I'll see this eventually because I like a lot of the cast though.
M.C Gainey was in that trailer and Omar Little from The Wire is apparently going to be in this as well. |
Why does Jamie Foxx not have any sort of hint of an African accent?

I'd rank his top 5 like this, in my personal order 1. Inglorious Basterds 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Reservoir Dogs 4. Jackie Brown 5. True Romance |
anyone else go see Django Unchained
besides me
What did you think of it? |
Awesome.
|
Great movie.
When I went, there were 5 black women down in the front row. And with all the sterotypes being thrown around in this movie, I had them walking out within the first hour. Surprisingly, they made it through the whole movie. |
Yes I did. Also the white hood scene was hilarioussss
|
This movie was goddamn amazing! The German stole every scene he was in. DiCaprio was amazing, and Foxx held his own as Django. The best job in the whole movie was done by Samuel L Jackson. He was literally the most despicable nigga in the history of film.
|
Just got back from watching "Django Unchained". Great film. I highly recommend it to history/Quentin Tarantino fans. (I'm both of those, so you know I enjoyed it.)
I love the film and I don't mean to nit-pick, but as a serious student of the American Civil War, a certain goof bothered me. The text at the start of the film listed 1858, and below in text it said "Two years before the Civil War". I really desired to whisper loudly "THREE YEARS!" as if anyone who made the film could hear me. The fact that no one who needed to hear that, but couldn't, followed by the fact that I dislike anyone who talks during films restrained me for voicing my thoughts on the blooper. Other then that, I can state that there was nothing in the film that was not true in regards of slavery. |
Zeeboe, did you notice that they used Winchester rifles in Django? If this was pre Civil War, Winchester rifles were not invented! THAT SHIT KEPT BOTHERING ME.
|
Are you nit-picking my nit-picking?
|
no, not really. Just was wondering if I was the only asshat that caught this. Which scene are you refering to that made you choke? Spoilers tags please for all the pussies that are apt to complain about that type of thing sir.

I even wonder if it was put in there on purpose because it could be a characteristic of the classic grindhouse films that QT admires. Often in those types of films errors were often made so the "errors" in QT's case could be intentional. The fact that we the audience don't know if they are or not makes it all the more appealing. |
Interesting viewpoint sir. So it was more of an Easter Egg type of thing for you. How about that scene sir!
|
I also enjoyed the cameos by Ted Neeley and Robert Carradine. I am a huge fan of "Jesus Christ Superstar" where Neeley plays Jesus and is beyond epic in the role. Then Carradine of course became famous for his role in the "Revenge of the Nerds" films.
That's one of the many appealing things about QT and his films - He always casts the coolest people, even for small roles. |
I found that Jonah Hill Cameo to be perfect. I almost Missed Tarantino in his cameo. I was so engrossed in the movie at that time.
|
Really enjoyed it. Was a little long at about the 3/5th point, but picked up again soon enough. I was laughing so loud at the scene with the hoods. ROFL.
|
<font color=goldenrod>Fantastic film. I still have yet to dislike a Tarantino movie.</font>
|
I enjoyed the film and also found the hoods scene hilarious.
