I saw the "Favorite Movie" thread... So I figured why not ask which movies you guys saw that you just despised.

If this has already been a thread, well... then it will be one again I suppose!


I'll start.

Running With Scissors - I guess it didn't help it was a large group of us youngins crammed into a tiny apartment watching on a Friday night or something... but what the fuck. I can watch/handle a lot of movies, but this one to this day we still joke about among that group who saw.

Talledega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby has the distinction of being the only movie I have ever willingly turned off and stopped watching after I have sat down with the intent to watch it.

Don't think that counts since I haven't seen the whole thing... and it probably wasn't as bad as some movies I stuck out and watched all of. Will have to think.

The Room /thread

Cloverfield, only movie where I ever fell asleep in the theatre and had to ask someone what happened on the way out after telling them I fell asleep. They did too. We both asked a third person who described what sounded like an incredibly shitty movie.

It's one of the best comedies I have ever seen.

However that wasn't intended.

Two movies come to mind. I hated The Village and Paranormal activity was so boring.

I think it's meant to be so bad that it's funny.

Paranormal Activity was at least watchable even if it ended a little badly. It spawned two others that were worse though. The whole time I can't stop thinking why aren't they taking this video to people to show some weird shit is going on in their house.

I still wonder how they spend 6,000,000 on that movie. You ever see the rifftrax of Birdemic?

Joe Dirt & Night at the Roxbury(?) , watched Joe Dirt to the end because it had Christopher Walken and one of the twins from Sweet Valley High but wish i hadnt,the other one i lasted 10mins and took it back to the video store.

My friend and I host a small group every now and then. We vote on watching horrible movies with some rules (ex. requires a theater release.)
This fucking abomination is by far the worst thing I have ever fucking seen.
I could only handle about 40 minutes before I left. I had never left for any of the other movies of the group and this killed me. I can usually laugh at bad movies but this was just terrible.
Not only was it terrible, apparently it was a financial disaster too. I could try to describe the plot but..I don't know. fuck this.

Queen of the Damned

Bought this movie as soon as it was out because I loved Interview With a Vampire and had read The Vampire Chronicles and loved them. Movie turned out to be the biggest pigfuck of an embarrassment to a book ever. Terrible acting had me cringing, and too many details were totally left out of the movie. The book was one of the most 'lore-filled' books of the series, with so much information and history on the origins of the vampires in the stories. To focus solely on the 'celebrity' status of Lestat was a shamble and the movie was created solely to make money with no respect to the original content. They couldn't even get his hair color right for fucks sake. Absolutely zero effort put into the making of the movie, and it likely only made money due to the death of Aaliyah.

Even the author of the books later stated that she hated the movie and that nothing in it appealed to her.

I dunno. I'm usually all for things that cross lines but this movie... just too much.

I sat through it once and will never, ever do so again.

However, I encourage those of you who have not seen this to sit and watch it just once. It's pretty fucked and I'd love to see some of your reactions.

Is it the films you hate? Or is the actors that you find unlikable?

Dont think theres any actor i find unlikable enough to ruin a film for me.

Going to watch Joe Dirt again though since the consensus seems to be i judged it harshly or in Hanso's case, that i might have some remedial brain damage.

Its actually quite good. And very quotable and popular.

Not to claim you are full on retard, but just the fact that I have never met someone who liked Freddie and didnt like Joe Dirt. Seems like most people who "get one" also like the other. Dunno.

If anything most people would like Joe Dirt and hate Freddie Got Fingered.

I watched Freddy got fingered expecting it to suck,and it kinda did but in a so bad its good way, and ended up actually enjoying it. Probably the opposite with Joe Dirt but just couldnt get into it at all,i'm gonna watch it again though, its been years since i saw it honestly.

That bad? This chick I'm seeing says that this is one of her favourite movies and that I must watch it because it is so hilarious.

It's the only movie I've ever rented and just stopped watching about half way and returned it the same day.

Also, I feel like i should mention all those stupid parody movies that have come out like Meet the Spartans, Dance Flick and Superhero Movie even tho I've never seen any of them.

Ive seen a couple of them,the few funny parts are in the trailers.

The hate I have for this movie is the kind that poets and bards would have written sweeping epics about in times past, a loathing that people would sing of through the generations. I hate this movie with a hate that would move mountains and boil the seas. Whole religions have been founded on less than the titanic, ungodly hatred I have for this fucking movie.

I almost want to say it can't be that bad, but I guess there is only one way to find out.

Postal was shit.

Skyline was horrible, yet it's getting a sequal.

Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever was utter shit. Not even Banderas and Lui could save it.

A majority of Nick Cage movies are shit. The exceptions are Con Air, National Treasure 1 and 2, Face Off, Gone in Sixty Seconds, and Raising Arizona.

In the Name of the King was terrible.

Troll 2 is too obvious an aswer here, but it's so bad it's funny. Same can be said for The Room.

Screamers 2 was pretty terrible as well, especially considering how amazing the first movie was.

The Rock was awesome ("Winners go home and fuck the prom queen!" "Carla was the prom queen"). Leaving Las Vegas is pretty great.

It always seems Nic Cages lines are either whispered or screamed.

I forgot about The Rock and I've never seen Leaving Las Vegas.

The only thing I can even remotely consider worst of all time off the top of my head is Twilight...

I dont know the name of it but it was about a killer tire, rolling around the desert exploding the heads of animals and people. A KILLER TIRE THAT WOULD EXPLODE PEOPLE'S HEADS..it was on showtime last week ill try looking for the name of it

I was subjected to the first one. I thought it was fairly bad but I've definitely seen worse.

I was fine with the premise of that movie, but I felt like it came off really pretentious with the audience watching the tire and whatnot.

Just remembered this other piece of shit movie that like 3 girls recommended I see. Said it was one of the best movies they had ever seen, but that I had to go into it with an 'open mind'.

Well, I like to think I've got one of the most open minds anyways when it comes to movies. I love all kinds of movies. But this movie was just BAD.

What a fucking terrible movie. I didn't even finish it. Usually I can at least force myself to watch movies, but this was terrible. The story was awful, the acting was TERRIBLE, and the effects in this movie sucked. I guess it was a low budget movie, but come on. The effect that was constantly over the picture was awful and distracting. It supposedly has some really deep meaning, but who cares when the entire point of it was to be some artsy film that tried too hard. I looked up the ending, and I'm glad I didn't waste my time on it. I would post the synopsis from imdb but it's pretty long and honestly not worth it.

Can't believe this shit has a 6/10 on imdb. It was the most try-hard attempt at being artistic and deep while failing to do either and just being annoying at every turn.

Dragon Ball Evolution was pretty horrendous, and that was with me expecting the worse. The first Twighlight was God awful. But I'll go with Dragon Ball.

I think i watched 5min of Dragonball Evolution before it got turned off. So much hope only for it to be terrible.

Yeah, Dragonball Evolution sucked big time. The next time they decide to make a Dragonball film, it should be an all-Asian cast and crew and get the story right.
