Top 3 punches
 

Punching is very essential to a worker's repertoire I think. If you don't have a good believable punch it really ruins the flow of a match.

You can list current guys or oldschool guys. For me it's Shawn Michaels, Terry Funk and Bret Hart. Honorable mentions for Scott Hall.

I'd imagine a lot of you will list newer guys and I'm interested to see whose punches you all like?

Big Show has some nice ones. I always liked Jake Roberts little snap jabs, too.

RVD's punches were AWFUL. Also, Savage's punches were wicked.

Did RVD actually throw punches? All i can remember are the fore arm shots he threw.

What do we all think goes into good punches?

It's hard to say for me. I'm not expecting mma punches, but somehow they need to look tight and it's nice when they look like they actually damage the guy similar to an atomic drop, and not just "filler" punches because they can't think of anything to do. They need to have some menace behind them.

I love HBK's "pop" he puts in on his punches. Like so perfectly timed it is ridiculous. looks like he's straight decking the dude in the chin, and it smacks so nicely.

Good call on Angle. I was just watching Angle/Michaels from Vengeance like two and a half hours ago, and his whole offense just looked brutal as fuck. Good stuff.

Angle's are nice but for some reason they always reminded me of Stone Cold's. I've always liked Austin's punches but I don't know if they're the best, but they were damned good. What I liked about his punches is he sort of punched exactly how you would imagine he would, just wild brawling haymakers.

Mark Jindrak had a great punch

Have always liked Taker's big overhand rights, or "soupbonez", as Tazz called them. Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, and Benoit's forearm shots were also my faves.

I thought all Canadians worshipped Bret Hart? How dare you besmirch his greasy headed greatness!

It's a proven fact that if you have the word rock in your name or rasslin name you have a punch that is 64% better than regular rasslers. My source for this is the international commission for serious business in pro rasslin.

For me, a good punch has to give me the feeling that whoever is throwing it is reallyrocking back and firing away, and looks like they are really tagging their opponent. Angle and Bret's look quick and stiff, while Taker looks like he is unloading and Benoit's looked vicious.

Undertaker's are inconsistent. Sometimes they look great, sometimes sloppy.

Lawler, taker, sawa

Yeah Lawler does have badass punches to this day. The crowd reacts to them like they're legit offense.

1. Taker, as Cole says he's the best striker in WWE.

2. Flair, love it when he'd get a guy in a headlock and just hammer on the head.

3. For some controversy, Big Show's WMD. Very, very well done.

Worst of all time ...

Foley, Hogan, and The Rock.

Always thought Foley had good punches.

I always felt like any Foley offense was totally week tbh.

RVD Tajiri and ... Some other guy that is good at kicks but not punches

Sid has some of the worst punches I've seen. Seriously would ruin the flow of his matches. Was an athletic big guy too and not a bad performer... just lacked certain essential things aka promo skills, punches and focus.

Lawler has excellent right hands. Feel like Christian and Booker T have less than stellar rights. Did like Eddie Guerrero's short, overhand right was always good.

I've always thought The Rock had the best punches!!! I love the energy he puts into them. Always liked Randy Savage's wind up punches as well.

I am a fan of Sid-one of the few I know, but yes I would agree his punches and promos weren't very good. I don't know what it is, but I've just always been a fan of his. I was probably the only one rooting for Psycho Sid against Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series 1996.

what makes a good punch: recognizability. when you would be able to tell who was throwing the punches just by their silhouette.

Scott Hall just like the Rock throws those fake ass lazy handed slaps.

I'm not doubting Undertaker's ability as a performer, but let's face it, he's perfectly capable of unleashing a stinker. Part of it is because he has to face shitty guys. However I've seen his punches not look too hot, a little labored I guess.
