The most difficult fight/mission/part in video game history
You know what I'm talking about, the ones that cause curse words that have little meaning, tears, dozens of attempts and the system flying out the window.
Racing Hillary in Vice City Seymour on the Mountain in FFX Emerald Weapon on FF7 Shagohad in MGS3 That one on one fight from Tactics |
Apparently the final boss of FFXI was supposed to be impossible. People were literally getting banned from the game for beating it.
|
You had trouble with the Shagohad?
Lazarovic from Uncharted 2 (Crushing mode) was an absolute dick Matador from SMT Nocturne was another absolute dick The last boss of Altered Beast (PS2 "remake") is the worst, most unfair boss fight in any game I've ever played Deep Sea Research facility from FF8 was pretty frustrating. Also Kuja's Palace from FF9 is a nightmare if you screw up your party. |
Volgin and then the Shagohad, that whole sequence gave me problems. Also I'm not talking difficulty cranked, I'm talking just plain fucking frustrating.
|
The part where you try to enjoy your gaming experience with a PS3. Probably the toughest of all.
|
Lol.
|
The last series of bosses in ninja gaiden
|
Mile High Club was tough1stuff.
|
TMNT was unnecessary.

Anything mandatory at least

Is the Racing Hillary the race that takes place on the beginning island, the one on the right. I remember doing that about 78 times.
|
Wasn't there another retarded one in San Andreas with Tobias Fünke

Final Fantasy Tactics probably contains most of them. Vs. Weigraf one on one in particular. That shit could actually make your whole game for naught if you didn't train Ramza right. Golgorand Execution Site also gave me a hell of a time.
|
The first fight with Alma in Ninja Gaiden on Xbox.
Divine Dragon in Legend of Dragoon Shao Khan in MK: Shaolin Monks. Only way to take him down was with the projectiles. NOTHING ELSE WORKED! Kai Leng on Insanity on Mass Effect 3. Theseus in God of War 2 And that's off the top of my head. |
Bowser- Mario Bros.
|
Anything in God of War 2 Titan Mode.
Also, the fucking Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls. Fuck them. |

Also, Dark Souls in general you seem to have to be self punishing to play. |

I mean, BATTLETOADS. |
Never played Battletoads.

It's for real men, not Sascha's leftovers.

They why have you played it? :p

Also, the last dungeon in Final Fantasy III, for similar reasons. |

I am guilty of playing Really tough games, to prove my "gamer manliness", but they have to be fun. Stuff like Contra, and Super Meat Boy.
Not about to sit down and play through Silver Surfer, because that shit is just broken. |
Megaman 2. The entire game.
|
lol what?
|
No idea how mega man got it's current reputation of being a "ridiculously hard" series. They aren't cakewalks, but they aren't even close to the Ninja Gaidens, Contras, or even the Castlevanias.
|
Castlevania....shudder.

Megaman 2 isn't bad. The first mega man can go stand on top of a large ship though

Angry Birds.
|
Since they added that bullshit green one in, yeah, its annoying.
|
Super Ghosts and Goblins or whatever.
|
Singstar.

Ozma from Final Fantasy IX. Also, Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid. Well, let me explain that one... the first time I played through, I didn't see the "controller swapping" hint. I fought him straignt up. Died a couple times and used up almost all my ammo, but if you shoot fast enough, you still hit him even though you miss A LOT from his strafing (FAMAS was my friend). It wasn't until after the fact on another playthrough I went to that CODEC screen. Boy, did I feel stupid. |
I think the only games I play on my PS3 are the ones I got killer deals on (Burnout: Paradise for like 15 dollars complete), exclusives (which I don't really touch except God of War), and PSN games. The last of the three comprise the bulk of my gaming experience.
|
Gaming on PS3 has been wonderful, as I've pretty much only played Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and MAG, on it.
|
Burnout Paradise got boring quick, I bought it on sale for like 10 bucks and after u beat all the missions it becomes boring.
|
That part in MGS1 where you have to fire a nikita round this maze of walls to blow up an electric box.
Mostly b/c MGS has all these parts where they expect you to know what to do without even hinting at it, ie the frequency on the actual game box. |
FLIGHT SCHOOL
|
Personally its usually any mission or part that is timed but in a way where a single mistake basically ruins your chances of success.
Water temple from Ocarina of Time. The entire NES trilogy of Ninja Gaiden games. The Hillary Race from GTA Vice City. The final robot boss in South Park. Can only be legit killed due to a trick and not normally. Rotating blades puzzle on God of War's Hades level. Nothing but a series of consecutive timed jumps made more difficult due to the camera barely showing past 1 set of blades and each set rotates differently. A single mistake drops you right back to the beginning of the puzzle. |
Although it wasn't essential to finishing the game, the Culex fight in Super Mario RPG pissed me off to no end.

It's like hearing people bitch about only getting 50 hours out of Kingdoms of Amalur. |
Pretty much any of the tag matches in TNA Impact, but that game sucked as a whole...never did beat Team 3d before I sold the game before I snapped it in half.
Also from watching my brother and a friend there were quite a few bosses and areas in Donkey Kong Country Returns that were just brutal to get through mainly because Donkey Kong has a jump that barely clears an enemy much less a pit. I also hated the first berserker fight in the first Gears of War, but that was because my AI partner was useless and kept dying as soon as the fight would load. |
Beating Bret Hart in a steel cage match in under 30 seconds.
|
Just tried out Battletoads.
Jesus, was that game supposed to be fun? |
Every part of MDK2

Pretty much every SNK fighting game boss, ever.

ohgodimsodepressedsomeonehugme Joking aside, have you seen the utter shit that came out in the NES era? That game was fun by comparison. :p |
I bought a wired Xbox controller and downloaded the SNES collection JUST to try it and I know through time I could beat it, but the first level alone is cheap as all get out.
And I wasn't much of a gamer in the NES era, probably for the best if you think I am sociopathic now. |
I know you're sociopathic now. What you're talking about is anger issues.
Play Dick Tracy. You'll love it. |
I've been considering Dark Souls.

I am aware, I was at Eb Games on Tuesday and talking to my bud after I told him I threw the phone off the roof at work. I then asked him about Dark Souls.
"Don't you have a big picture window in your place" "Yeah, why?" "Don't buy Dark Souls" "Lol, that bad?" "Look at the first three words on the back of that case" *I look* "Yeah, not getting this I don't think" |
What were the first 3 words?

|
Its been years since I played it but one of the missions in GTA3 was so damn hard. I think it involved an airport in one of the final stages of the game.
Anybody remember what I'm talking about? |
pretty much all of the last missions in Big Sky Trooper on SNES
Although frustrating might be a better word than difficult |
Hyperbike tunnel from battle toads.
Yiazmat from FFXII. Sephiroth in KH 1 and 2. Demon Souls (way harder than Dark Souls) The Immortal in Lost Odyssey (secret boss) Quickman stage from MM2. Stupid fucking instant death lasers EVERYWHERE. I could go on. |
Sephiroth was simple in the first though.
|
Yeah after you over level and figure out his pattern. The first few times I went in I got MAIMED.
|
FUCK YOU GUYS, MEGAMAN 2 WAS HARD.
|
I don't think I've ever beaten a level in any of the Megaman games so I'm going to say they are all hard, especially Megaman 2, and that you are all lying about beating them.
|
I've beaten all of them in both the original and X series and have even done the no damage run on Mega Man 10. They are not that hard, Mega Man 2 is even one of the easier ones. Start with Metal Man. Bubble Man is also a little bitch.
|
I jumped back to Deus Ex: Human Revolution and played Missing Link.
Fun mission. But one of the achievements is called "Factory Zero". Which is completing the mission without using praxis kits, firearms, or explosives. Basically, you only got level 1 hacking, 1 battery bar, and I think 1 or 2 other abilities open to you. That's it. I didn't figure this out until late, but I'll give it a shot on easy one of these days. |
The Sleeper in Everquest.
Back when I was an MMO loser in EQ, my Guild was the first to "awaken" the sleeper and set him on his Rampage through Velious - killing tons of unsuspecting people. BLOOD OF THE SPIDER FOR THE WIN MUTHER FUCKAS |

I missed so much in my youth :( |
Right now I'm replaying Goldeneye. I did not remember the Control Mission to be this hard. I shot Boris the first time, so Natalya was pissed and wouldn't do her part. Plus the non stop bad guys while she's trying to hack the satellite at the end is also shitty.
