The OFFICIAL Phil "CM Punk" Brooks vs. Bryan "Daniel Bryan" Danielson **OVER THE LIMIT HYPE THREAD**

Discuss.

what's up with that gash Linkin Park song/VP for the basketball playoffs?

LOOKING FORWARD TO http://images.wikia.com/prowrestling..._The_Limit.jpg aNd the PROFessional wrestling contest BOUT match BeTwEeN http://prorasslin.files.wordpress.co...-young-jpg.jpg & http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_yDnVKnYkca...yansuitjpg.jpg

Indifferent Clox 04-30-2012 11:47 PM

Daniel Bryan has only wrestled cm punk 3 times on wwe television.

Indifferent Clox 04-30-2012 11:48 PM

American dragon Bryan danielson wrestled him a couple times before.

Indifferent Clox 04-30-2012 11:51 PM

I think punk and Bryan have relatively differing styles and the only reason they are compared is that they wrestle an entirely different way than most wwe wrestlers. I.e. they are both unique. But like if these guys were in ecw in the 90s one would have been more technical ( Daniel Bryan) one is more of a brawler/ martial arts style.

I guess if I had to push I'd say danielson is the flair and punk is the steamboat in terms of Wrestling, but in terms of mic skills its the other way around really.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-30-2012 11:51 PM

Clox I'm going to spice up your thread title a bit, if you don't mind. Even if you do, I'm going to do it anyway.

It's all about buyrates, you know?

Indifferent Clox 04-30-2012 11:53 PM

In casual its about buyrates LOL. Stop taking my stoned ramblings of yore out of context you supreme bastard.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-30-2012 11:56 PM

Unfortunately my awesome moderator powers (which I totally abuse all the time, St. Jimmy) do not allow me to add a poll to this thread. So unfortunately we may never officially know who TPWW is reppin.

Curd 04-30-2012 11:56 PM

Is this just "Punk vs. Bryan" or "Punk vs. [any wrestler]"? If the latter, then I choose CM Punk vs. April Hunter: Punk wins when Hunter goes for the testicular claw and Punk reverses it into the Anaconda Vice.

McLegend 05-01-2012 12:36 AM

Fuck this thread. I want a poll.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-01-2012 12:40 AM

well Clox could make his own poll if he wanted, but he probably won't do it right

I mean did u see his original thread title ffs

CSL 05-01-2012 12:41 AM

Supreme Olajuwon 05-01-2012 12:41 AM

first time i've ever used "ffs" ever btw

McLegend 05-01-2012 12:42 AM

A fucked up poll is still better then no poll.

Droford 05-01-2012 12:55 AM

It occured to me that Phil Brooks sounds like a WWE Name generator name and that no one named Phil Brooks would ever get over in WWE as Phil Brooks.

Don't know how I missed that to this point.

Ol Dirty Dastard 05-01-2012 01:00 AM

This ppv is not going to draw :( gonna be a sweeeeeeeet match though.

Droford 05-01-2012 01:01 AM

Then they can blame CM Punk and Daniel Bryan and by the end of the year we'll be getting Ryback vs Brodus Clay for the WWE Ttitle.

Droford 05-01-2012 01:04 AM

If Daniel Bryan wins, do you think they could do a Daniel Bryan/ Cena match and acknowledge that they wrestled each other 9 years ago on velocity?

Keith 05-01-2012 01:18 AM

I didn't think Extreme Rules would be that special, and look how it turned out. With WWE nowadays, you just never know. They seem to be nailing it.

They won't even completely acknowledge that Tensai is A-Train, and you're hoping for a shout out to a velocity match from 9 years ago?

They'd have to acknowledge that velocity was a thing as well.

Keith 05-01-2012 01:40 AM

Did they ever ackonwledge that Brock Lesnar and John Cena wrestled each other in 2003?

Fignuts 05-01-2012 01:43 AM

I think they showed footage in hype promo, but I could be wrong. Don't think they ever actually mentioned it on commentary though.

So possibly nobody.

Tazz Dan 05-01-2012 06:09 AM

He'll come back to Raw in 12 years.

Dukelorange 05-01-2012 07:20 AM

Isn't Bryan a Smackdowm star? Or at least supposed to be? As was Kame, Khali, Big Show, and Orton... Is SD going to have a clock challenge with Raw stars?

Tazz Dan 05-01-2012 08:11 AM

Smackdown people have been on Raw for months. Plus, the draft is supposedly coming up.

Triple Naitch 05-01-2012 09:16 AM

So are people still butthurt about Daniel Bryan being misused?

#BROKEN Hasney 05-01-2012 09:37 AM

There's no consistency in his character. Does he want to be WHC or WWE champ? Retards just don't know how to book Bryan.

Kapoutman 05-01-2012 12:42 PM

CM Punk defeats Daniel Bryan with the GTS in 18 seconds. BOOM.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-01-2012 12:49 PM

I dunno which the internet would be more mad at. Punk losing in 18 seconds or DB losing in 18 seconds.

Obviously, Cena coming into the match to win the title in 18 seconds to later lose it to Lord Tensai's manager, with Hogan coming out of nowhere to comfort CM Punk who was still laid out ringside from that entire match and Punk telling Hogan to win the title off of Tensai's manager would cause the most fury. But, you know, other than that.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-01-2012 12:50 PM

Hogan/Russo/Arquette triple threat No Way Out main event. Dennis Rodman wins on the new 18day/3hour rule where the title always has to be defended on demand in those hours.

McLegend 05-01-2012 01:18 PM

Punk has had the belt way too long. Daniel Bryan all the way! YES! YES! YES!

Droford 05-01-2012 01:28 PM

9/9/2 out of 20 with my vote..almost right down the middle. TPWW is split!

Keith 05-01-2012 01:31 PM

I think most fans are split. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are the two most-over wrestlers WWE has (not named John Cena). To have them go against each other, is going to be very interesting.

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2012 03:05 PM

CM Punk and Daniel Bryan will be putting forward their A-game heading into this. Both guys will want this feud to be a classic, and to sell, so that their spots at the top can be solidified. It seems that the WWE is really high on both guys at the moment, so I think they'll get the freedom to put on both a great match and create a compelling story.

Part of me actually thinks Bryan has a chance to walk away WWE Champion at Over the Limit, actually. I can see it being a point in the story where AJ helps Bryan win to get back in his good books. But I could also see AJ siding with Punk, and giving Bryan a more personal reason to go after Punk. It's a really tricky one to call, actually. I think I'll be leaning towards Punk as the feud progresses, but Punk might actually want to drop the WWE Title to Bryan to add to their program. I'm not sure how close the two really are, but Punk is probably the more solidified star at the moment, and dropping the WWE Title to Bryan could help get him up there.

How about they both job to Ryback instead?

Emperor Smeat 05-01-2012 03:43 PM

Can't decide on who I'd want to win since the feud is going to be great enough that both guys benefit from it.

If it ends up similar to their set of 3 matches earlier in the year, this could easily end up as the best post-Mania feud of the year.

Nicky Fives 05-01-2012 03:58 PM

I am a fan of both.... they are the Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit of "The New Generation"..... only this time, I'm backing Eddie.....

Keith 05-01-2012 11:16 PM

This feud should benefit both of them, no doubt, but I'm sure we'll see CM Punk back "in his element", where he'll try to be funny, sarcastic, drop "pipebombs", etc. During his last feud with Jericho, for the last couple of weeks, he's wasn't in control of the feud, Jericho was (attacking his family, attacking his reputation, attacking him physically). So during this feud I'm sure it'll be more "even", and Punk will shine, as will Bryan.

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-01-2012 11:19 PM

The match is also gonna be in Flair country wooooo.

I'd like to see I have till 5 trend

Indifferent Clox 05-12-2012 05:59 PM

I mean they could make an angle out of that. Have him do it multiple times at ppvs. Keep having punk And Bryan fued. Rhis could lead to a pure title rules match so rope breaks don't.count after a while.

Also would love to see him in an I quit match where they ask if he quits Ans he's like " yes yes"

Mr. Nerfect 05-12-2012 06:29 PM

Bryan wins at Over the Limit with AJ's help. The two become a power couple on RAW, perhaps with AJ even taking the Divas Championship off Layla (AJ can be Kharma's first adversary when she returns). Punk gets his rematch at No Way Out in some sort of "no escape for Bryan" gimmick match, where Christian returns and costs Punk the title. Christian is after Punk because Punk injured him, and because Bryan has promised Christian "One More Match" if he helps him out.

At Money in the Bank, you have your two Ladder Matches, as well as Bryan defending the WWE Title in a Triple Threat against Christian and Punk. Bryan retains when he beats Christian, leading to a final blow-off between Punk and Bryan for SummerSlam -- perhaps in a Submission Match, or something like that.

Rock Bottom 05-13-2012 04:43 PM

If Bryan wins, Lesnar will squash him for the title at best.

Jericho just did everything in his power to put Punk over. Don't think Bryan is going to be the guy to "challenge the momentum."

Mr. Nerfect 05-13-2012 11:33 PM

Losing the title doesn't mean that you're instantly moving down the card. Punk being screwed out of the title would lead to Punk trying to regain it. The difference between Jericho and Bryan is that Jericho is an established star putting guys over, whereas Bryan is trying to get established himself.

At least for VKM it is.

Also, I really hope they don't put another WWE/World title on DB so soon after losing his first WHC.

Fignuts 05-14-2012 09:35 PM

Feel like these two don't have very much heat between them.

What little there is, feels forced. I'm sure the match will be good, but doesn't really feel very personal. Just typical generic, "grrr I'm a good guy, and you're a bad guy" stuff.

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2012 10:10 PM

I think this feud is going to be one of those rare times where the matches hold all the interest although to be fair its only been 2 weeks and even the Jericho-Punk feud needed a while before it got going.

Yeah, I agree and I'm a little concerned that with so little story being put into the match that it will bomb. Yeah, the match will likely be a wrestling clinic and maybe even a classic but the WWE audience by and large don't give a damn about the match quality if there's nothing to along with it.

That's one of the pitfalls of rushing a PPV build I guess.

My biggest concern is that the PPV does badly (as I expect it will) and Bryan/Punk take the rap for it.

Mr. Nerfect 05-16-2012 02:57 AM

I'm also paranoid that Punk/Bryan will take the fall for any bad news coming from the buyrate, even though the big storylines going in have been Triple H/Lesnar/Heyman and Cena/Laurinaitis.

I'm still thinking that the way to go is to have AJ help Bryan win the WWE Title as a desperate attempt to get Bryan back. He decides that he "respects" AJ again, or reveals that they were in cahoots the entire time.
