The Day After Tommorrow
Has anybody seen the previews for this movie? Man, this movie looks fk'n awesome Well, I am a sucker for disaster movies and this one looks like it takes the cake. Comes out Memorial Day.
it looks alright
Trailers look good, but I got a feeling it might be a let down
I have a good feeling that it will rule big time. Cannot wait.
saturday
It looks good, and they scary thing is, that it might actually happen :(

Yeah, I think it looks pretty decent. But I have a feeling it will be a letdown.

No offense but I thought it looked really sh*t from the trailers and when it said "from the makers of Independence day" I knew why.
I'll see it on rental or something though. |
I thought the first trailer I saw for it was pretty good. I wasnt sure if I would see it from it. The second one that I saw just kicked so much ass. I think that when it comes out that I will have to see it. I dont think they could do this one wrong.
It looks cool, but the "from the makers of Independance Day" thing kinda worries me. Oh well, I'll see it anyway.
Independence Day was great.
^^yeah Independence Day Ruled.
I have seen the preview and it looked sweet, really want to see it.
The movie will probably be really weak but the disaster scenes just look awsome and I just want to see the movie for that, which is odd cause I really don't like movies that are pointless.
Looks like every other summer Blockbuster.
Hollywood Just loves to pick on LA and New York. Not that I'm complaining, but isn't this movie about 5 years late with the whole ID4 craze? I expected Jeff goldblum to pop up in this trailer somewhere. The FX look neat though.
It looks awesome.
Roland Emmerich has never made a good movie in his life. But hey, the trailer looks alright. Meh.
Sadly, it might be one of the better summer movies. I just hope either this or some other summer movie has one of those... waht'da call 'em?...... oh yeah, plots.

yeah yo.. my dad say it and started laughin he was like betcha that felt good
they just had something on Fox that showed clips and it doesn't look too bad
whoever that girl in it is, she has hot eyes.
We can all admit to agree that the movie's title sucks more cock than a bachelor’s vacuum cleaner.
Looks sick. I just hope they don't overuse more CGI than they need to.
(like I hear the people of Van Helsing did)
I'm gonna go see it simply because Jake Gylenhaal is the ****ing man.
If it weren't for that, I don't think I'd waste the $9 on it. What's the point of a disaster movie where the whole world is destroyed? Atleast in ID4 they were fighting aliens and shit, but what happens when the disaster is over in TDAT? My guess is there will be a lot of walking around and a lot of pointless, boring dialogue. |
This movie looks like it has my two favorite things in movies, exposition and the destruction of major cities, so you know I'll be there.
I will not be going to see this movie.
I refuse to go see any movie directed by the fucker who created GINO (Godzilla in Name Only) and bastarized the mighty King of the Monsters. |
Looks pretty damn good. It's been a while since there has been a decent disastor movie.
I just got back from seeing it, and in my opinion, I give it a 6 1/2 out of ten.
Its not bad, my theres some cheesy stuff in there like all movies like this. Also the simple fact that they totally concertrate on America like almost the whole movie, which is typical. They concertrate on America, even though they tell you that Europe and Asia have the worse conditions (Theres these big tornado things with this center part which makes the surroundings have no air pressure or something, and it says their worse in EU and Asia) but overall its ok, special effects aren't bad. Worth a look. |
Sounds pretty decent and the trailers aren't too bad, might download it or something.
I would download it but I sorta want to see it in theaters.

The Day After Tommorrow STARRING The Special Effects Team of ILM |
This film is getting some bad reviews, but I think I'll still go see it... Disaster flicks are hit and miss, but the hits are usually pretty great..

Also LOL @ whoever said it might actually happen. |
Saw it last night with some friends. The special effects were fuckin AMAZING, the acting was alright, the plot was what you could expect from this type of movie (shallow). There was one part they really could have done without though, and anyone who saw the movie probably knows what I mean.
It was so predictable really. There I was last night with the choice of seeing this or Troy. I chose TDAT and I regretted it. Nothing hapened that after seeing it you wouldn't say Uh huh. The graphics? Sure they were ok, but you expected that too. What I don't understand is why the wolves were CGI. That was dumb.

Anyways, as you could expect, the movie was pretty identical to independance day, but change aliens to natural disasters. |
As you can see
There were also 3 helicopters that crashed, much like in independance day, and there was the scientist who had a theory that the presidential office didn't believe. Just realized those two right now
lol @ the similarities.
I had no problems with the wolves in general, they're role in the movie was a simple filler, a small sub sub sub plot. Movies should have a lot of those kind of things IMO, but the CGIing of them was just stupid. |

Oh and something always happens in New York in Ronald's movies.
It was alright and I agree with Buzzkill about "the scene" not being necessary.
Oh yah people took alot of pictures like in godzilla
The scene wasn't necessary, but if every scene had to be necessary, then movies would lack. I'm not defending this movie, because I felt it was a let down.
Great directors can make the fluff necessary. The distractions become a vehicle that moves the story always forward. That's when you're watching a great film. However fluff should still be allowed to be a dead ender. At least from my perspective. |
utter utter piece of shit. Horrible acting, and I'm not one to judge films by their acting usually.
The only thing that saved this film for me was the couple of Manchester United references, but then I'm kind of upset our name is lent to this POS. Also, the English accents are horrible. |
and Emmy Rossum is hot, but that's about it.
was that Peter Parker as the son?
I thought the Dad was hilarious. All his lines were horrible.

I saw it tonight. Didn't think it was awful...but it wasn't good. Sort of just...eh. A lot of it is just laughable (walking from DC to NY in freezing weather?! in what, like a day? :wtf: ) But it had some entertainment value which is all it was meant to be, could have been shorter though.
Quaid is the man, too bad he doesn't quite choose the best scripts. :-\ |
I just saw it. IMO, this is the best film of its genre---mostly because alot of the destruction in the previews is nonstop, unlike Deep Impact and Armageddon, and more people are killed, unlike Volcano. What I liked most about it though, was that they didn't try to stop what was happening and just rode it out.

Anyway, saw it tonight. The first half was pretty good and the main girl was hot. Other than that, I've seen much better, and the wolves were absolutely retarded and they were CGI too.

I thought it was ok....kinda wished I had watched Van Hesing or Troy instead but oh well...I was talking to a freind about the wolves being CGI and he was saying that he heard wolves were too unpredictable for real ones to be used...
