Ah, just posted this in the 100,001 replies, but you beat me to it. BRB. Gonna go edit it and give you credit CSL.
lol don't worry about it, I post random bits in there that become threads all the time, THE PAIN GOES AWAY EVENTUALLY
What pain?
Interesting. I wonder if it will run an hour later or just start an hour earlier. I hope they use this to give more time to matches and not just waste the first hour on promos and skits like they do for the 3 hour specials.
I'm thinking they'll take the 8-9 time slot for this. I think NCIS is getting moved. While the thought of Raw being longer is great, I do agree with Steele that I hope this means longer matches rather than drawn out promos.
As long as WWE gives matches proper time & not just use the first hour or so on some Johnny Ace skits then I'm game
For example, the Big Show segment from Monday went on WAY too long but it was still effective but could have been done in probably half the time.
1,000th episode of Raw needs to have the Gimmick Battle Royal return. They need to feature 30 guys from raw's history in an over the top gimmick battle royale.
Longer Brodus Clay matches.

iMPACT is also going LIVE full time this summer.
It probably doesn't deserve it's own thread. |

Almost as if it was on cue or something

Brodus has more time to call his momma now.

They can make his entrance even longer and wheel out the fuckateers.
God help us all. |
lol fuckateers
Some RAW 3-hour specials have been really good and used the third hour excellently... while others have been a complete waste of time.
Hopefully this just means that they will have more time to pack in more matches/superstars/angles rather than just hype packages/recaps/and guest stars. |

i get the nitro vibe from that, get ready for longer interviews.

3 Hour Raws all the time will be like 3 hour nitros were.
Horrible |
Probably means I'll be watching less Raws personally. It annoys me enough as it is sitting through constant ads for 2 hours, nevermind 3 hours. I probably only watch less than half the Raws at the minute as it is. I know I can just watch them on youtube the next day or whatever but for some reason I don't tend to, and just read the results instead.

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah I dunno about this. I feel totally burned out at the end of 3 hour Raws most of the time.</font>
to long
This will let WWE use some of the guys they dont use and develop storylines for them like ke Curt Hawkins/Tyler Reks/Hunico etc, I think this will add a new layer of undercard storylines. Good idea :) !
There's talk about adding a 'pre-show' at the beginning of Raw to hype up the show or recap last week's events. Maybe that's what the 1st of the 3 hours will be for.
I don't know if I like this idea.

If it's not, it might be ok for a while but will flame out just like Nitro did back in the day |
Recaps would be bad, do not want.
Mixed reactions for me.
The real benefit is the lower tier wrestles and tag team since they have more time to be on tv which was an issue at times during Supershow weeks in order for the big stars to have decent tv time. The biggest issue is if a show is bad, its going to drag on for 3 hours or instead of more matches, its just more skits and promos. WCW's problem when they got a 3rd hour for Nitro was due to them being unprepared for it and caring more about the extra ratings to beat RAW than improving quality in the long run. Ended up costing them millions in lost revenue and additional costs. |
In theory and on paper, this is a goos thing, but in reality, the extra time will be given to the people that the fans are already tired of seeing, and not to the guys who deserve it.....
Too much wrestling
Not a good idea, quite honestly. More filler. They don't maximize the time they have now. SmackDown! is at least 20 minutes of recaps, and so is RAW some weeks. They have all the time they realistically need to get their talents exposed, they just don't use it effectively enough.
Now, if this means longer matches on TV and more of the lowercard getting TV time, that's awesome. But I doubt that's what it'll mean. |
I got a bad feeling about this.
I guess that news explains this then?

Also, here is a new one I came across when searching for the other video.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XH5_WeqfOzo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Let's see, I just checked the fall TV schedules on the major networks and I'm not gonna be missing anything special..................for now.
So if this is going to be 3 hours long, think creative/Vince will come around and just end the brand split? Gonna need some fresh faces to fill that extra hour. |

3 hour Raw's during Wrestlemania season would be great. All year round though I'm not sure. I'm not complaining however. I'd rather more Raw than less Raw. I won't be watching Raw live anymore anyway so I can just skip ads and anything I don't like when I watch it the next day recorded so it'll basically stay as a 2 hour show for me.
Ya pretty much for me too. I catch Raw usually the next day on YouTube without ads. Besides, if it is indeed just a pre-show then chances are the 2 hours of Raw may have less recaps.
May... probably not, though.
Great now I get to sit through another 45 minutes of ads no thanks.
I am real excited, but then again I have no life.
Just keep hearing the Nitro theme in my head...
Won't affect me much, I download Raw ad-free the following day, not like the old days trying to stay awake for Nitro's main event.
Great news. Even though I get home from work around 8:30 or 9 on Mondays.
Terrrrrrrrible idea.
not to be a broken record, but it does have a nitro feel to it. 3 hour nitros was the begining of the end for wcw. I dont think its gonna do anything but suck.
They should have a one hour HHH promo to kick off Raw like they used to do every week in 2003
I never got why when the WWE had three hour RAWs, they just didn't increase match length. It saves them writing more storylines and shit, which burns out people. Just let Dolph Ziggler take up 30 minutes wrestling every now and then. Longer RAWs justified.
I've always thought the perfect formula for a wrestling show was to have a PPV caliber match (A goof 20 minutes) between some upper mid-carders/main eventers who aren't John Cena every week and a followed by a gripping storyline development to end the show. Then fill the show before that with some Midcarder vs Midcarder matches, Upper Midcarder vs Lower Midcarder semi-squashes, non-wrestling storyline development and weekly showcase of the divas division. It means less meaningless matches where your main eventers are constantly losing as a lazy way of building storylines and it keeps the weekly TV intriguing while giving people a reason to watch the PPVs (A show FULL of those awesome matches, getting to see rare losses of upper tier guys, getting to see a guy like Cena in the ring.)
Awesome. More time hopefully to get a few more guys on camera instead of having a bunch of underused guys. :y:

I CAN'T be the only one who remembers that match (almost 45 mins.)... |
