Mr. C 06-12-2012 04:15 PM

After Vader, who will be the next 5 Superstars?

As announced last night on RAW, on every RAW from now on until the 1000th episode, a former RAW “main eventer” will be showing up. This week, it was Vader. Who do you think will be the next five former main eveners to show up on the next five episodes?

I’d be in heaven for a Brodus Clay/Rikishi dance off in the middle of the ring, and then have some jobber like Slater come out and get squashed by both of them.

Zeeboe 06-12-2012 04:17 PM

Aww, damn! I missed Vader? I don't watch Raw anymore. What happened? Is it on YouTube? I may have to start watching a few episodes of Raw cause I'm a big fan of the old-school guys from my era.

Corporate CockSnogger 06-12-2012 04:19 PM

I can see them just going with obvious guys like Flair, Nash, Hart, Piper, Foley. But then having Vader in with that group would be a bit odd, so maybe they will come out with a few wildcards like DDP, Sid and Goldberg.

Nark Order 06-12-2012 04:36 PM

Personally, I hope they dig a bit deeper and get more obscure "main event" guys. Would love to see Ken Shamrock or the New Age Outlaws.

Zeeboe 06-12-2012 04:39 PM

It won't happen, but man, it'd be awesome if Hulk Hogan showed up.

JimmyMess 06-12-2012 04:40 PM

I see Sid, NAO, Foley. I don't think they'll use Nash, and probably because Vince doesn't like his shaved gray head most likely.

BigCrippyZ 06-12-2012 04:47 PM

If these are just one or two appearances for the 1000th episode and buildup, I would actually like to see Sid, the New Age Outlaws, Foley (maybe even as Mankind, mask, brown pants and all?), Gangrel, Taker, Shamrock, Val Venis, and X-Pac... maybe just do small reunions with DX, Corporation, Ministry, Brood, or APA?

Hanso Amore 06-12-2012 05:49 PM

They are focusing on guys from the raw era so hopefully they don't waste our time with the typical dibiase IRS sgt slaughter line up.

I doubt we see gold dust after getting fired.

I'm excited to see some randoms. Molly holly for the win.

Corporate CockSnogger 06-12-2012 05:56 PM

They should definitely get Goldberg the more I think of it. Imagine you have Trent and Barretta or Primo and Epico or someone just talking shit and then Goldberg appears and spears the shit out of them. Then have him and Ryback cross paths backstage as Ryback's on his way out to beat two jobbers. Or even have Ryback come out just after Goldberg and be all "you think that's good? Watch this as I lift both these guys at once".

BizarroKing 06-12-2012 05:57 PM

Actually since last night, as they were billing the then mystery man they call Vader as a "former Raw Main Eventer" i was hoping for this man

http://www.pwpix.net/superstars/d/da...llery1/001.jpg

The main eventer of the very first Raw.

Damndirty 06-12-2012 06:19 PM

Actually, Matt Hardy showing up wouldn't be too bad either! Hell, let's not forget about Road Warrior Animal, the Godfather, Kurrgan, Tiger Ali Singh, Marc Mero (unlikely but be cool to see him there), Terry Funk, Dan Severn, Ahmed Johnson, Doink, and the Gooooooon!

Vastardikai 06-12-2012 06:21 PM

If I remember, "the Voice" communicated to him through his thumb...

Actually, if Lord Tensai started having conversations with his thumb, he'd probably be more over than everyone in the WWE COMBINED.

Rammsteinmad 06-12-2012 06:22 PM

Gotta think Sid Vicious must be one of them.

Corporate CockSnogger 06-12-2012 06:24 PM

WWE could really use the ICP for their tag division right now. Blue Meanie could teach Daniel Bryan a thing or two about charisma too.

Vastardikai 06-12-2012 06:25 PM

Better idea: Get Justin Gabriel the Human Venus Flytrap thing Demento used to wear, and he'll be a future main eventer.

I'm assuming that not all of them will be squashes that the legends win and might actually be used to put over the young guys.

Val Venis vs David Otunga (Otunga gets squashed. Val lets Otunga know that he better stick to his coffee cup because The Big Valbowski can take Jennifer Hudson and fill her up!)
Bob Backlund vs Jack Swagger (Swagger wins and looks good doing it.)
Godfather vs Funkasaurus (Fun match the 'saurus wins and then we get a huge FUNKY LIKE MONKEY RAW MOMENT)
Ken Shamrock vs Tyler Reks (Reks gets sqaushed)
New Age Outlaws vs Kofi Kingston/_______ (Actual main event/good hard fought match that Team Kofi wins. NAO show respect and all that good stuff.)

Nicky Fives 06-12-2012 07:09 PM

Sid would be awesome..... Outlaws have to come back as well, same goes for Waltman & Rikishi.....

I can see Jim Duggan, I.R.S., The Brooklyn Brawler, etc...

Rick Martel.

Seeing the New Age Outlaws come back, do their old schtick and squash Primo and Epico would be a nice surprise.

Blackman and the Mean Streets Posse should be regular staples on Raw.

And if Ken were to arrive, he should call out Kurt Angle, only for someone to tell him he was supposed to show up 10 years ago.

Trivia question: Who is more manlier? Chuck Norris or Steve Blackman?

Road Warrior 06-13-2012 02:29 AM

Do a similar segment like they did years ago with RVD/Kane vs. LOD. Have Truth and Koffi come out, interrupted by Johnny who announces they will face a team they have never faced before, one of the best teams in the history of their industry, cue.........OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW ????

Also I think a Val return would be over as well as Godfather, Blackman and how about an MVP return ?

Mr. JL 06-13-2012 11:04 AM

I think Ric Flair is definitely not going to appear. Simply because of the TNA vs WWE lawsuit. Given the nature of their case it would put the WWE's case is serious jeapardy if after they got all Ric Flair's TNA contract details, Flair refuses to work for TNA again and then the WWE signs him.

Mr. JL 06-13-2012 11:08 AM

And if Foley has to limit his time on the computer and reading books becuase of all the accumalative concussions, the man should definitely be nowhere near a wrestling ring.

Was it just me or was vader so fat that it looked like his fat was trying to escape is singlet. And shit did he look old. But man.... other than when he had to stand up after taking a bump he was working well in the ring.

K.Smoke 06-13-2012 04:04 PM

well its obvious they'll bring Flair back since we know that he left TNA and is planning to come to WWE again anyway. But I would like to see the Ultimate Warrior since Vader had a match I would like see the Ultimate Warrior have a final match. Maybe we'll get HBK back for some fun with HHH. DX Style.

XL 06-13-2012 05:11 PM

Wouldn't mind seeing The Headbangers. Maybe not as one of these 5 "headliners" but definately on the 1000th episode itself.

CSL 06-13-2012 05:27 PM

I could definitely see something like the Mean Street Posse being fed to Ryback or something

Zach Gowen - Have Slater cut a promo about his "retro" opponent not being able to beat a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.

Vince even referenced Gowen this past week.

Wendi Ritcher is a surprise?

The reason Vader’s return created a big pop and therefore was a success was that he might have been one of the least likely wrestlers to make an appearance. He isn’t remembered as a great or icon, just a wrestler whose time has come and gone. People want a blast from the past so they can be surprised and realize the uniqueness of the moment before them. Seeing someone who’s bound to show up on RAW once a year regardless of the occasion isn’t half as special as Vader’s return last week. That’s why Vader got the pop he did; no one expected it.

K.Smoke 06-19-2012 05:37 PM

nope.

really the Long Island crowd sux. I went to Raw in LI (I'm from Brooklyn, NY) the crowd there only want to see Zack Ryder. Foley got over because he's from LI. Booing is frequent there. They didn't even know who Wendi Ritcher was.

Ruien 06-19-2012 07:00 PM

I would hope so, but the omission of finishing maneuvers by either of the Steiner Bros. on the WWE's "Top 50" list of finishers hints that perhaps WWE wants to distance itself... for now.

That interesting. I knew about a problem he was having with something about him being jealous of Hogan i don't know. Didn't know about him having problems with the WWE anybody else know anything about that.

WWE has reportedly abandoned the storyline of a former RAW main eventer wrestling each week leading up to the 1000th episode. Instead, they’ve changed direction and will focus on a former General Manager hosting RAW and SmackDown every week. Mick Foley hosted this week, and Vickie Guerrero will host next week.

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Not really much of a storyline, but more like an attraction. When I saw Vader, I knew he wasn’t going to be on full time, but it was still cool.

K.Smoke 06-21-2012 07:36 PM

I don't see how they're gonna work Vickki into the role from her current role. Not even for 1 week. Dolph is rising and they haven't seperated yet. It makes more sense to use Eve. But I think they're gonna go with Foley since he has signed with the WWE and currently has no role. Despite his problem with HHH HHH can't deny his crowd drawing abilities. And it doesn't make sense to sign him and don't use him.

Mr. C 06-21-2012 09:00 PM

Absolutely no need to add Foley into the mix, as Foley has been in this role.

#1-norm-fan 06-21-2012 09:02 PM

Nobody I can think of honestly, except for maybe Rock. Then again, I'm not sure Rock would have the same effect if he was just an authority figure/mouthpiece, and wasn't also backing up his talk in the ring.

The concept in itself is played out. Just have a guy who's neither face or heel and just have him have control on the shows. Don't involve him in storylines with wrestlers. I'd like to see someone brand new though.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-22-2012 04:01 AM

Guess they realized the people care more about the guys who came before instead of the guys who are there now.

They must have not wanted 5 weeks of massive pops like the one Vader got for people not even under contract.

Mr. C 06-22-2012 01:00 PM

I just hope the show is good because it seems like they’re coasting right now until they get there.

I’m guessing… Austin, Undertaker, Trish… all of these people are predictable. I want another surprise.

I'd love to see Honky Tonk talk some sense into Heath Slater his gimmick will never catch. He's missing the Charisma that Honky Tonk had. I actually watched Honky wrestle and heard him speak, I never was a Elvis fan but Honky Tonk caught my attention. He was good for his era along with Jake the Snake and Ricky the Dragon and Tito Santana etc. etc.

But I would like to see Honky and Slater do something as a tag team. That would be nice. And in the End Honky Shake Rattle and Roll Heath Slater for costing him the match

Mr. C 06-22-2012 09:15 PM

I can see The Undertaker vs. someone who Undertaker will just squash. I'd love to see JR on commentary, but for some reason, the WWE doesn't want him calling matches anymore.
