The forgotten wrestlers List

I'll start the list by adding 3.

1. Jimmy Wang Yang - He was pretty unforgettable like most of the midcard guys from Smackdown in around 06-09. He will also go down as one of the worst gimmicks in WWE history.

2. Muhammad Hassan - This guy was pretty unforgettable in my books and the only thing some of you might remember him from would be if you played Day of Reckoning 2 and he was the first to come out about stealing the wwe title.

3. Joey Mercury - He will only be remembered as that one guy who was tag team partners with John Morrison.

sadly most today don't care for what came before they started watching and they'll all be forgotten once we historians die off

This is true. There's definitely a place for guys like you and DLVH84 in the world. I'd just prefer you list them than post 2,649 pictures because it makes scrolling the thread a pain in my ass.

Just don't want you to think I dislike your enjoyment of old ass wrestlers. I just hate their large ass pictures you post.

I remember back in '97 or whenever it was that a lot of these guys were on WCW TV, and since I was only nine or ten years-old, they all seemed like huge legendary wrestlers to me.

If I saw Mike Enos on WCW TV just one time in 1997, I probably spent the next few months thinking he was a super famous megastar, and wondering what happened to him.

Good times. :(

If you didn't, you probably never knew them in the first place.

Mike Enos was involved in the most important angle in WCW HISTORY. So yeah, that guy's got his place in history.

If their names are remembered, how exactly are they forgotten?

Maybe you should start a thread entitled "Wrestlers You've Never Heard Of Because They Are Irrelevant To The Bigger Picture Of Professional Wrestling History", instead of trying to shoehorn in your "history lesson" here?

This is the worst thread ever. It would be alright on a darts forum or something and people were like "Lol try and name some obscure wrestlers for a laugh" and people would be like "ha remember The Godfather? rofllllllllll" But on a wrestling forum, which you would assume mostly contains people who have a pretty big interest in wrestling, there aren't really many "forgotten" people. The likes of Chuck Palumbo and Billy Kidman are getting mentioned For FakeLaser's Sake.

Seriously makes be wonder how many people here actually played WCW/nWO Revenge before proclaiming it the best wrestling gang evar!

If you played that game you know who Sick Boy is. And Kidman. And even Reese.

What exactly is the criteria to be listed as a "forgetten wrestler" anyway?

Schlomey 06-28-2012 01:35 PM

I take it as people who were obviously on TV and could even have been famous for a short time but who have slipped into obscurity and lost from most peoples recent memory.

I remember when WCW had those hardly noticeable shows on where it was nothing but jobbers fighting... the only thing is that most of those jobbers turned out to be WWE midcarders and main eventers later in life.

He had the looks, he had the talent, I just don't think he got the push or had the talent/charisma that the promoters were looking for at the time.
