Aces and Eights TNA Storyline

What are your guys thoughts on it? It reminds me of the original NWO angle in WCW to be honest. The whole gang mentality and the dont know whats gonna happen next. Plus Hogan getting beat up and in one segment is not a bad thing.

Heisenberg 07-13-2012 12:12 AM

It's screaming nWo all over, my thoughts exactly. I don't see why they need to put Hogan and Sting in any time slot involving physicality. I'll wait it out and see who the mystery guys are though. nWo was the shit to me back then.

taker707 07-13-2012 12:14 AM

Its screaming NWO but a fresh take on it. it seems

Jordan 07-13-2012 12:26 AM

I read that Chris Masters may be one of the guys. He's actually really solid now as a pro wrestler, his work in India while basic, was very effective.

taker707 07-13-2012 12:28 AM

ya i read it's gonna be AAA invading TNA With Jarrett leading them . Still im loving it so far

Supreme Olajuwon 07-13-2012 12:43 AM

the worst thing you can do is compare it to the nWo. nothing will ever compare to the nWo. it was THE perfect angle and it will never be duplicated. just let this be it's own thing.

or don't. what do I know? I'm not even here.

NWO was good but it was the only bullet WCW had in its proverbial gun

but TNAs gang is intresting without comparing the two.

Droford 07-13-2012 02:21 AM

Didnt see tonight thanks to directv/viacom acting like a bunch of 8 year olds but anyway..i wasnt exactly getting the anglevtheblast couple weeks..and if uts jarrett coing back that'll make it typical tna screw up a decent idea for an angle

teamXtremist 07-13-2012 02:26 AM

exactly nothing good can come of more jeff jarrett

Very true but In the end everything came back to NWO they even admit as much in "the rise and fall of WCW"

Not really caring for all of this Jarrett bashing.

Screech gets it.

Schlomey 07-13-2012 11:54 AM

Watched for the first time in months last night. I was very confused by the AJ Styles storyline and the Aces and 8's thing. I just chalked it up to "being TNA".

Mr. JL 07-13-2012 12:19 PM

How many of these stupid evil nWo-lite factions can TNA run in the history of their company?

Lets start with...

Sports Entertainment Xtreme or S.E.X.
Kings of Wrestling
Main Event Mafia
Immortal

I'm sure I am forgetting some as well.

DLVH84 07-13-2012 12:31 PM

The Aces and Eights thing is getting interesting, to tell the truth. I wonder who's all in it? Sting and Hogan are most likely the first ones to be attacked, but who would be next in their hit list?

Hanso Amore 07-13-2012 01:52 PM

I had no idea about this. Then I googled the name.

Fucking cool name with a nice backstory with Wild Bill and all.

Will wait to say anymore. But hey, TNA, Not bad. Good start.

Hanso Amore 07-13-2012 01:56 PM

I just watched their segments.

Fucking Biker gang look. Sons of Anarchy rip off style I bet.

Now I am interested.

Where? Are just these segments available?

KIRA 07-13-2012 04:41 PM

Aces and 8s storyline aside suprisingly TNA has been the more watchabe of the two main companies as of late last mondays RAW seems to be turning into a god-awful variety hour while I was able to watch TNA and see wrestling and I fear that RAW adding an hr will just be an excuse to add more of their bad sketch comedy

Quick question does anyone know why they dont just go by dead mans hand? Sounds a bit cooler

MoFo 07-13-2012 05:26 PM

There were 3 guys yeah?

Prol all Ring Ka King guys so Masters, Chavo & Bulldog's son.

There were more than that in the newest attack on sting and hogan

Hanso Amore 07-13-2012 05:53 PM

They first three, assuming they are all playing themselves and not using stand ins were large men.

Masters and smith fit, not Chaco.

In the newest attack one has very long hair. Looked like palumbo but not....

Raven Reaper 07-14-2012 02:51 AM

I'm thinking the leader is Lemmy!! Ace of Spades song anyone? :p

Skippord 07-14-2012 03:06 AM

come on Cliff Compton

Mr. Nerfect 07-14-2012 03:20 AM

Would love it if this turned out to be Cliff Compton, to be honest.

Mr. Nerfect 07-14-2012 03:21 AM

Luke Gallows is another guy that TNA would benefit from signing. He's a solid big man and really young.

Lemmy is too badass to be accociated with TNA. I liked it when it was just the three guys. They could have did something where it was three former TNA stars pissed that Sting is getting all the attention. It could be three physically imposing wrestlers looking to make an impact (no pun intended) by taking out the top guy, and they can have James Mitchell as a mouth piece (pretty much rip off the Brock return) Now that like 15 guys came out and attacked this week.... that kinda confused me

Hanso Amore 07-14-2012 12:04 PM

Im all for them "invading" 8 deep. Going after the two biggest names in TNA.

Im fine with it being a mix of a few names, and some new faces.

Supreme Olajuwon 07-14-2012 12:05 PM

Now that they are more like 7-8 guys rather than 3, we can commence comparisons to Nexus rather than NwO.

Scott's semi-retired. However, I think he'd make a great choice for the group, due to his legit badassery.

Well, Masters and Bulldog would fit because of their size. Gallows is apart of Ring Ka King so he could be the third. The problem would be, I don't think any of them are good talkers. So they would need a mouthpiece, I wonder what Joel Gertner is doing these days...

Nicky Fives 07-14-2012 10:50 PM

one guy looks really tall..... like 6'8'' at least......

Rollermacka 07-19-2012 09:16 PM

So now the gang attacked Kurt Angle. I feel this could be a stable version of DDP's "make me famous" gimmick. They are going after the "biggest names in the company" just like DDP did before the storyline went off the deep end.

Side note, I always felt the Main Event Mafia was a better version of WCW's Millionare's Club.

Supreme Olajuwon 07-19-2012 09:45 PM

So apparently two of the guys are

SPOILER: show
Luke Gallows and Wes Brisco (aka Gerry's kid who was in FCW)

Joey Ryan
Domino
Austin Aries

Joey Ryan would be another good pick as the leader of the stable. He is a pretty good talker and it makes sense since it started happening after he was apart of Gut Check

Cliff Compton would be perfect and would make me watch TNA(if I didn't have DirecTV)

Yeah, I have to wonder whether they'll carry over his "Mr. Media" gimmick from OVW. It really let his personality shine.

Hanso Amore 07-20-2012 03:56 PM

– Joe Smith sent this one in: When you click on their Twitter account of the Aces and Eights, it says they being followed by Jeff Jarrett & D Lo Brown, but not by anyone else in TNA. The following wrestlers are following them or tweeted about the group: Luke Gallows, Jay Bradley, Cliff Compton, Chris Masters, Wes Brisco, Jeff Jarrett, & D Lo Brown. Gallows and Brisco have been confirmed as taking part in the group attacks thus far.

Fucking A. Until you get to JJ and Dlo that could be a fucking SICK group. I love Dlo, he just doesnt fit.

I really enjoyed last night's Impact and thought the stable angle was well-done. I wonder if I'll be watching next Thursday.

I thought it was funny that there was 6 of them, and they were all in sets of twos. There was 2 tall ones, 2 average sized ones, and 2 that looked like they were over 300 lbs.

Yeah, I noticed D'Lo doesn't come out with Al Snow to break up stuff during Impact.

This is leaning on a "New Blood" type group sent to wipe up all the top talent and it's looking pretty interesting.

That's not a bad group. Gallows, Bradley and D'Lo as "the muscle" (D'Lo is fat now so he probibly can't do too much wrestling now). Wes, Cliff and Chris could be the wrestlers and Jarrett can be the mouthpiece.

Swiss Ultimate 07-20-2012 06:49 PM

Why'd they beat up the jobber kid from Jacksonville Beach?

Raven Reaper 07-20-2012 09:58 PM

And I was expecting Bobby Roode to be the gang member as well since they didn't attack him but no.. Haha.

Mr. Nerfect 07-20-2012 10:59 PM

I'm yet to see Impact Wrestling, but I am excited to read some of these names in association with the group.

Jeff Jarrett should probably be the mind behind it. Disgruntled because he got kicked out of TNA, he's returned to take his company back by force, using his own talent roster of disgruntled individuals.
