Could WWE do a successful nWo v. DX angle now?
kevin Nash has said he wants to come back as the nWo with punk as the leader, could this work?
And is there a non awful way for them to make it somehow eventually cross paths with teh dx? |
That feud woulda been money about... 15 years ago.
|
I remember marking out for the 15 seconds I thought this was real

I'm not sure DX would dare cross Punk. He might outpop them.
|
Anyway, it depends on what you mean by "successful." I'm sure it'd sell a fuckton of T-shirts and glow sticks.
|
Well I guess I mean 'would it get five stars from st.jimmy" or "would it be noid approved"?
no jk. I mean like do you think it could work into an interesting 3 arc storyline? of course it'd sell. I guess if it was Punk Nash and Hall v Triple H, road dogg and billy gun, with xpac on a pole at mania, it'd be pretty damn interesting. Pretty damn interesting indeed. |
and instead of the fingerpoke of doom, what if it's just a sexually charged embrace?
|
You wouldn't be able to use Hall or Hogan, so no, it wouldn't work.

And then go on a 5 paragraph diatribe about Triple H being horrible because he fucked a mannequin. |

Obvious answer is Survivor Series, wouldn't be hard to generate an angle putting them against each other there. |
A little nostalgia is a good thing but too much isn't great. I don't think an NWO or DX revival would really work on any level now.
Plus I never wanna see Kevin Nash again. Ever. |
I would dig Nash, Hall and Hogan coming out to the NWO music with the proper voice overs at a show. Dont want to see them wrestle. NEVER. But would be cool to see them together again, like it was to see the Horseman back together.
|
If rather see a Dangerous Alliance vs Heenan Family feud. Or just have the rasslers go on Family Fued again. That was money. Kinda.
|
No. Fuck No. Stop. Let it Go.

No one cares about nWo today and DX is a joke.

damn comes off as a clox defense with my use of "i'm impressed by" so close to kane knight's.

You walk erect. Pretty sure you're immune to people thinking you're defending Clox.

this was my first wrestling forum post in a looooooong time. i'm so out of my element.
but even i know that the premise of this thread is a terrible idea. |

Aside from Nash (and possibly X-Pac), who else would be in NWO?
I doubt Hogan and Hall would be involved. Big Show (meh)? Booker T (meh)? (BTW, I'm thinking Nash just threw that out there to troll everyone). |

It could work provided that they consist of newer talents are recruited which also can make them easier to push instead of bringing back the retired guys.
|
No.
Closest they got to mimicking nWo vs DX was when they teased a feud between Nexus and the Corre which never occurred besides the spot at the Rumble. Wouldn't even need the nWo or DX for Punk to be the leader considering he had his own SES group and could just revive that if the WWE ever felt the need for a stable war. |

I think a new Straight Edge Society vs DX would be a better idea.
|
Actually get Right to Censor acting as the WWE verison of the SES. Have CM Punk heavily recruited by both sides, but never actually choseing ether. Then at the big blow final Right to Censor vs. DX tag match, have punk finally choose.
God I just think i re wrote the crow sting angle, and didn't mean for it to sound like that, but it could work again as an angle. Have Punk feud with Cena for the majority of the time when Right to Censor and DX are going at it. Just have like once every two weeks a run in with Punk, where he never really choses. Shit, what is Steive Richards and the Blue Meanie up to? |
I would rather see a Kliq angle if we are going to go old school like this.

Kliq was excess. So you have the one straight edge person there, HBK be the one that sends the strongest message to Punk. Something along the lines of, "yea these guys drink, and bang random women, but you bang random women. You don't have to get fucked up to be here. All us are valued." Then have Trips lean in and say, "Hell, i'm married." Right to Censor could recruit him soley because he is straight edge. Just realized that you my have just said the samething in one line, but i'm stoned, and just happy to have a response as aposed to the thread that I message in then dies. |
I miss the Corporation more than the nWo. There I said.
|
As a big nWo fan, I'd love to see it but if I were running WWE, there's no way I'd bring it back. How much of the current audience even cares about the nWo? It's 2012. It failed in 2002, it's not going to work in 2012.

I'd just like to see more stables in general.
|
When id the last time we had a stable period?
The WWE currently can't keep a decent tag team, and we're talking about STABLES? Take baby steps folks... |
Last year.

He's got you there...

I never said it was a good idea, I just heard about the nash tweets and made a hypothetical.

Accepting that your ideas suck is an improvement, Clox.

Sure there's a Horseman joke here somewhere....

Kane Knight has been just horrible in this thread. Really horrible. Each of his posts has something wrong with it. The best one was "Nag World Order." There's seriously a problem there.
CM Punk has no personality? Wow. And you get upset when I make statements that are true? Yikes. |
The WWE could easily do DX vs. nWo and make a shit load of money off it. Merchandise will fly off the shelves, and then when that stopped, the groups would be dissolved and never mentioned again.
There's something funny about the idea of Nash showing up to RAW in an nWo shirt, though. The WWE could make the nWo returning a running gag. |
Hm. Mention nags and Noid appears. Coincidence? Probably not.
|
Ugh. You're about as funny as a PG DX promo.
|
The n.W.o. is a dead horse, and should remain as a thing of the past.
Having said that, I think a CM Punk lead heel stable against a team of Triple H, X-PAC, NAO, and HBK as manager could be interesting. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised in regards to the chemistry that DX had at RAW 1000. I think they could still be a big hit. |

Let us not forget that when the nWo died last time, they said it wasn't done yet.
Mind you WWE likes to forget pretty much everything they say....soooooo. |
Quote:
"You're only WWE Champion still because of me, Punk, and I know I can take that title off you whenever I want, little man." Punk challenges Big Show to just try him, before AJ skips on out and says that she hasn't forgotten that Big Show flattened her at the start of the year, and that he was just pretending to be sorry -- he likes hurting people. AJ says that she is not about to reward Big Show for that sort of behaviour and for ruining a perfectly fine main event last week...unless he is willing to join a very special club... AJ Lee introduces the "AJ Lee Kiss My Ass Club" in honour of the great man she idolises and gave her the power she wields, and Big Show will be the first inductee if he ever wants a shot at the WWE Title. Meanwhile, CM Punk will stay in the ring because the opening match of the AJ Era will be CM Punk defending the WWE Title after the commercial break. We get back and Punk is waiting for his opponents, who are revealed to be Jimmy and Jey Uso. They take turns cutting a promo on Punk, about how The Rock is their family, and they are going to fight for him tonight. We get a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title confirmed, with The Usos dominating from the start, but then turning on each other when they realise that the WWE Title is on the line. This gives Punk the opportunity he needs to get back into contention. Punk eventually gets a steel chair and goes nuts on both Usos, and pins Jey after a GTS. This continues Punk's tease of "snapping" and becoming a "bad-ass submission machine." |
