Better Tag Team # 1

Paul London & Brian Kendrick

vs.

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-15-2012 07:52 AM

Londrick and it's not even close.

Nicky Fives 09-15-2012 08:08 AM

not a huge fan of Kingston..... not even close for me.....

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 08:28 AM

Easy winner. I hate little jimmy.

Corporate CockSnogger 09-15-2012 08:30 AM

I quite liked both London and Kendrick. I like R-Truth but not really into Kingston and haven't seen much of their run as a team so went with London and Kendrick.

Rammsteinmad 09-15-2012 10:08 AM

London and Kendrick. They had a great run back in 2006 (I think that's when it was), but they also looked like a tag team, which R-Truth and Kingston, who I like, still reek of two singles guys thrown together.

WinterDecay 09-15-2012 10:10 AM

The Hooligans all the way ...

Ultra Mantis 09-15-2012 10:24 AM

Is this Juanctioned?

Graveler 09-15-2012 10:33 AM

not even close

XCaliber 09-15-2012 11:08 AM

Never liked the combo of R-Truth & Kofi so Londrick it is.

Anybody Thrilla 09-15-2012 11:22 AM

I miss Air Boom.

Wolfpack423 09-15-2012 11:34 AM

Yeah, I definitely think Paul London and Brian Kendrick were the better team. They had a great reign as WWE Tag Team Champions and they were a great high flying tandem. I also think the feud with MNM was one of the better tag team feuds. I think a match with Kofi Kingston and R-Truth would be a good match though.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 11:41 AM

This one's getting close.

Juan 09-15-2012 12:14 PM

I thought you were just gonna pick up where I left off?

Emperor Smeat 09-15-2012 02:13 PM

London and Kendrick

KaosDarksol 09-15-2012 02:33 PM

London and Kendrick easily. Kofi and truth have overstayed their welcome as a team.

RiX1024 09-15-2012 03:45 PM

Londrick Kendon gets my vote.

Road Warrior 09-15-2012 04:38 PM

Also a little surprise at the landslide victory, guess I underestimated Londrick's popularity.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 04:38 PM

Seriously thought Kingston and Truth would make it a little more competitive. They're becoming more of a "legit" tag team. I actually had to think about this for a second.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 04:47 PM

You aren't a legit tag team until you wear matching outfits.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 04:48 PM

Killer Bees, now THAT would give London/Kendrick some problems....B Brian Blair bitches...

The loophole to that rule is if you're both black.

Both legit tag teams. The matching tights were not necessary. On account of the blackness.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:22 PM

Please instruct me to said loophole. The fact that R-Truth and Kofi aren't considered a legit tag team is evidence enough that matching tights are required. Also, see Black Cena and Titus, a legit looking African American tag team, the Prime Time Playas.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:26 PM

R-truth and Kofi are certainly a legit tag team.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:27 PM

Jumpin' Jimmys

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:28 PM

False. They will go their separate ways as soon as they drop the tag belts to Daniel Bryan and Kane. Hell they don't even have a TEAM name. They are as legit as Kane and Rob Van Dam were.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:32 PM

but they had MATCHING GEAR! You must have, one, the other, or BOTH! Color of skin is not considered the same gear, otherwise, all teams are legit.

Billy Gunn transcends rules.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:39 PM

I'm unable to view that photo due to format I suppose. At work. What's it of so I may make up another reason as to why the two singles wrestlers aren't a team.

Miz and Morrison

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:42 PM

For example, I can consider Air Boom for reasons stated above.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:46 PM

So would you consider Jeri-Show more of a tag team than Miz and Morrison?

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:47 PM

http://images4.fanpop.com/image/phot...93-330-339.jpgAlso....I counter your image, with an image.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:49 PM

I see complete darkness. I agree. Tag team.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:51 PM

It was an image of Miz and Morrsion in matching gear.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:52 PM

Did they wear matching gear at some point? But you just said you don't consider them a tag team...

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:53 PM

You know who else wore matching gear at some point...

http://www.wwe.com/f/wysiwyg/image/2...PHOTO_1172.jpg

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 05:53 PM

I don't. They only did it once. Was just fucking around because it was the only one I could find at the moment.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:54 PM

But seriously. Would you consider Jeri-Show to be more of a tag team than Miz and Morrison and Truth and Kofi?

No I considered Jerishow more of an angle as they were only actually a team for about 6 months and were only put together because Edge was injured.

Though I will say I considered Miz and Morrison more of a team than Truth and Kofi.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:57 PM

But Jeri-Show had a team name...

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 05:59 PM

They even matched a lot. Covering both of your requirements for a legit tag team.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 06:04 PM

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 06:05 PM

In all seriousness, if you go by my rules of tag teams you WOULD have to consider JeriShow a tag team.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 06:07 PM

Same for the 2-man power trip, or whatever Austin and Trips were calling themselves, though again, that was more angle than long term tag teaming.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 06:08 PM

Two Dudes with Attitudes

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 06:09 PM

kinda groooooovyyy...(sorry california dreams popped in my head when I read that)

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 06:10 PM

I am of the belief you need a team name/matching attire, one or the other to be a certified legit tag team and not two singles guys tossed together for little reason.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 06:11 PM

Point is, it's a subjective "feel" thing as opposed to something you throw two rules on. You either feel like Kofi and Truth have established themselves as a legit team or you don't. I don't buy the idea that they can randomly come up with a name as a team and suddenly everything changes because of how they're announced.

How about Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie?

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 06:13 PM

Their names go together perfectly. Charlie was even named with the intention of teaming with Cactus. No team name though, no matching attire and they weren't exactly thrown together for no reason.

Yeah I get your point, and can understand if you feel that way, but I grew up during the era where tag teams HAD at least one of those 2 rules when teams were formed. There's been such a watering down of what makes a "team" that it's jaded me in terms of what defines a team to me. There are exceptions to the rule, but in general I consider a tag team more often than not should possess one of those 2 specs.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 07:05 PM

I think we grew up watching the same era. And tag teams didn't always have at least one of those 2 rules. There may have been more tag teams that did but there were also still a lot who didn't.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 07:07 PM

Remember Owen Hart and Yokozuna? So fucking random. lol

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 07:16 PM

lol, they were random, and I fucking hated that. That was around the time they began getting away from the "team" concept. You had Smoking Gunns, New Rockers, New Blackjacks, etc and then fucking Yoko and Owen.

They even made Greg Valentine dye his hair black and dress like a fucktard to team with HTM.

Road Warrior 09-15-2012 07:19 PM

Yoko and Owen were random, but they were 2 time tag champs and defended their titles against multiple teams. Even though they were random do you consider them a tag team ?

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 07:19 PM

Even before that though, you also had former tag team champions Sparky Plugg and The 1-2-3 Kid.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 07:20 PM

Same era, mid 90's. 95/96. I zoned out during that era because it was atrocious lol. I was referring more to the 80's WWF.

#1-norm-fan 09-15-2012 07:21 PM

How do you feel it effects the "legit tag team" label if the two guys have a common manager?

If they are part of a stable I don't usually consider them an official tag team. Who were you thinking of....million dollar corporation?

Would you consider Owen and The Bulldog more of a tag team than Owen and Yokozuna?

Road Warrior 09-15-2012 07:32 PM

So would you consider The Colossal Connection ( Haku and Andre) a team then ?

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 07:33 PM

Yes, see: official Tag Team name.

To elaborate: They were originally just members of the Heenan family, however, they formed a team and had a team name, hence, they became a tag team. Eventually Heenan would abandon Andre and Andre turned, ending the team.

No. They did not have a team name. They were just Yoko and Owen who were teaming because Cornette managed them both.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 07:36 PM

The missing element? Team name.

itsmeJD 09-15-2012 07:37 PM

They could have gone with Camp Cornette which was the stable name, but that would have to involve there not being a stable and Vader and Bulldog having to "kick rocks".
