Michaels cuz he put on more entertaining matches over the years.

Gertner 09-22-2012 11:22 AM

HBK. Not close.

Shisen Kopf 09-22-2012 11:30 AM

Randy Savage bc he wasn't in playgirl magazine.

Rammsteinmad 09-22-2012 11:41 AM

Shawn Michaels.

Three things: We all knew HBK would win this, anyway. I can't believe it was the finals already, that came about quickly. And I gotta admit, I'm kinda surprised Randy Savage is the other guy in the finals.

Cool King 09-22-2012 12:14 PM

I'm not.

I predicted it three weeks ago.

Now I'll have to wait and see if I'm right about Savage winning it. Right now, I'm not.

HBK.

Joesgonnakillyou 09-22-2012 12:23 PM

HBK was always gonna win this but there are two people that should beat him. One is Austin and the other's Savage.

Sixx 09-22-2012 12:29 PM

Michaels, because he was in Playgirl magazine.

whiteyford 09-22-2012 12:45 PM

I love me some HBK, but I gotta go with Savage here.

jskinnyg 09-22-2012 01:14 PM

Tough call here... Went with HBK...

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-22-2012 01:56 PM

Going with Savage. More classic memories from Macho in my mind than HBK. Oh Yeah dig it!

You can't knock HBK for that. Just because Savage didn't think he was cute/know he was sexy.

CSL 09-22-2012 02:19 PM

and he certainly didn't have the looks that drives the girls wild

mike adamle 09-22-2012 02:23 PM

Wow, I was afraid it was gonna come to this, and it has. Not an easy choice by any means.

I'm gonna have to think about it, watch some video.

Wolfpack423 09-22-2012 05:37 PM

Randy Savage all the way. I've always found him to be a better in ring competitor. I like his personality better as well. Wrestlemania III's match with Ricky Steamboad, his feud with Hogan throughout the years, the matches with Warrior, the matches with Ric Flair, the feud with Diamond Dallas Page, being a member of the Wolfpack, Team Madness-so many things I like about Savage. HBK is a great in ring competitor, but I didn't like his 90s run mostly because of how bad of an attitude he always had. His 02-10 run was great, though.

#1-norm-fan 09-22-2012 06:41 PM

It's sad that HBK spent the prime of his career seeming like a guy who was there to make others look good because he was older. He should have spent that 8 year run getting a long title run or two and being booked as THE guy.

Dig it!!! :y:

Bret Hart - Great Technical Wrestler. HBK can do that.
Stone Cold - Great ring psychologist and brawler (was great before his neck injury). HBK can do that.
Flair - Great chickenshit heel. Great "legend" babyface. Great psychologist. HBK can do all that.

Ric Flair is the only wrestler who can claim to be better than Shawn Michaels, but Shawn Michaels had everything Flair had plus even more athleticism and more versatility in his promo ability.

HBK may not be as good of a pure "technical wrestler" as Bret Hart, but Shawn Michaels is no slouch on pure wrestling and his psychology and story-telling is second to none. Shawn Michaels' promo skills are second to few. Isn't it amazing that being really fucking good at a lot of different facets of wrestling make you the "best wrestler" moreso than just being great at one thing and mediocre at the rest?

There's not really a bad HBK promo, per say, just nothing that stands out compared to Macho Man.

What Macho Man promos stand out to you and why? I can't remember any specific promos from Macho Man (granted he has been inactive for over a decade). He was charismatic as fuck and got you watching/listening, but I don't vividly remember any Macho Man promos for their actual content.

#1-norm-fan 09-23-2012 02:39 AM

I can't think of any "stand out" Macho Man promos.

I liked him on the mic. But I seriously can't pin point any specific promos.

HBK I can remember entire feuds where he was just on fire on the mic constantly.

What I said originally was that if there was any category that HBK wasn't up to par as far as HOF consideration it was promo skills. I never said he was bad, just not as good as guys I would consider for the HOF. I don't know why this is difficult to comprehend.

You never said he was bad. When you say there's no point in posting a bad HBK promo because "to you there weren't any" as opposed to "there weren't any" it does kind of imply that there are HBK promos you find bad.

Yes, things are tough to comprehend when they're inconsistent.

James Steele 09-23-2012 02:47 AM

The deal is that unlike Hogan and others, HBK's ringwork was so great that his promos never outshined his actual wrestling.

I was trying to find the promo from after WM 8, but I can't find it. To me that promo is head and shoulders above anything promo wise that HBK has ever done.

Then find one on YouTube and post it. Don't sit there and say "HBK wasn't an elite HOF level promo, but Randy Savage was." then not give any examples of said promos where Savage is a "Hall of Fame promo".

HBK's descent into madness leading into WrestleMania XXVI and his obsession and need to beat The Undertaker to justify his entire career and legacy.

HBK's "mini heel-turn" against Hulk Hogan in the summer of 05 where he carried a main event feud (and match) on his back.

HBK's heel work in 1997-1998 where he had a chip on his shoulder because he was "The Headliner", "The Main Event", "The Show Stopper", and so on yet he still gets disrespected by guys like Bret Hart and others.

Shawn Michaels' promo in the press conference for WrestleMania XI. That one single line freaking 17 years ago really defines HBK's career and that was before he even won a World Title or main evented a WrestleMania (Bam Bam/LT main evented WM11).

Shawn Michaels' promos with the McMahons in 06 saved a months-long feud from being entirely unbearable.

The promos with Flair through WrestleMania XXIV. The emotions of not wanting to be the guy to end Flair's career but also "being a man" and accepting the challenge of your hero.

All the promos going into WM 25 were awesome.

Jericho/Michaels feuds in 2003 and 2008 were awesome both in the wrestling and in their promos.

Shawn Michaels was always able to cut promos that made you believe what he was saying and that helped define his character's attitude/beliefs/etc in a feud and made you want to see the match even more because you were hooked either emotionally through Shawn Michaels' ability to convince you that you wanted to see the resolution of the conflict or made you want to see the match because he is Shawn fucking Michaels and it will more than likely be the match of the night and candidate for match of the year.

I think they are just as good or better than that Savage promo. An average HBK promo is equitable to Savage's "best". Savage rambled on and basically said that taking the title was the best way for him to hurt Flair, but now he wants to destroy the rest of Flair at a later date. He said it in such a way that it was interesting, but hard to understand half the fucking time.

James Steele 09-23-2012 06:51 AM

Seriously, how can you watch that Savage promo and go "Oh my god, that promo was one of the best I have ever seen."

Shisen Kopf 09-23-2012 09:07 AM

Macho Man Elbow dropped a hamster. Therefore he wins!

Gertner 09-23-2012 09:09 AM

but you're all basement dwelling fat virgins who jerk off to pictures of Dean Malenko, so meh.

Dean Malenko was PWI's rassler of the year in 1997. Im sorry but Malenko is serious business. He does many, many holds. The armbar being the greatest. Recognize yo!

Gertner 09-23-2012 10:34 AM

The Great Muta should have been rassler of the year in 1997 because he's a Jap.

Joesgonnakillyou 09-23-2012 10:58 AM

I really hate the kip up HBK does.

RiX1024 09-23-2012 11:44 AM

Michaels gets my vote.

KyleEmmott 09-23-2012 12:11 PM

He's just a sexy boy

Rollermacka 09-23-2012 12:36 PM

Savage, I don't think Shawn has ever been in the Danger Zone...

Theo Dious 09-23-2012 05:43 PM

In regards to anyone who voted for Savage, all I have to say is, haters gonna hate.

Keith 09-23-2012 05:56 PM

"Haters gonna hate"?

Nah. More like "People gonna have opinions".

And it's mine that if you can pick Savage as a better wrestler than Michaels you are either consumed by hatred or possibly simply mentally ill.

Keith 09-23-2012 06:10 PM

Or, it's possible those who voted for Randy do so just because they think he was better than HBK.

Crazy how that's possible, huh?

Ultra Mantis 09-23-2012 06:20 PM

Tedious is full of iron(y).

MVP 09-23-2012 06:40 PM

I'd throw in my two cents, but I'm too busy jerking off to Dean Malenko.

Majunior 09-23-2012 07:50 PM

Savage.
The man was epic. Shawn simply isn't.
