Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2CzoSeClcw0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...19384491_n.jpg Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? This is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 2 which includes Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (TV), and ultimately Avengers: Age of Ultron. Note: That is not Iron 'Norman Osborne' Patriot, but War Machine in an Iron Patriot paint job. I understand this may throw off a few fans. I speculate War Machine using the paint job may have something to do with IM2's side plot of the government wanting their own Iron Man and the public surface of Captain America during the New York Incident. |

The gold suit is really starting to grow on me. I think it's because as jarring as it was when I first saw it, I still disliked the ugly, bulky silver bits on his previous two armors much worse.
Helps that the new one has a pretty slick design, and looks quite a bit like the Bleeding Edge armor, which is tits. |
There will be an Iron Man 3 Prequel comic that deals with War Machine's whereabouts during The Avengers:

I imagine they would have to cover for that.
they could just say it's a strict no black guys on the Avengers policy
Except for their boss, of course.
it's weird that he made that policy

....EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
And I still fuckin' hate teasers for trailers.
Mandarin lookin' like he should be in The Hobbit
Trailer should drop tomorrow. Let's go Phase Three!
Trailer is out. Looks good, but doesn't really give you much idea of what the film's actually going to be about, other than it doesn't really look like Tony's going to have much fun.
looks pretty awesome

for anyone who doesn't know how to search YouTube

When did those two start dating? Same sort of strange unexplained plot hole from Avengers like how Bruce Banner can control his anger?
which 2?

And assuming he means Tony and Pepper, they got together in Ironman 2 and were seen together in Avengers pretty prominently early on.
I was trying to remember what part they got together, but I realized I have forgotten everything about Iron Man 2 except the racing scene and some random scenes with Mickey Rourke. Need to rewatch it I suppose.
ya it is known they are together...I assume you should rewatch before blaming our lord and savior Joss Whedon.
looks awesome
...fuck...me
haven't watched the IronMan movies yet
They should have called it Iron Man Rises.

Lol. I thought that when I watched the trailer. I suppose the "superhero pushed to his physical/mental limits" is a common theme amongst comics though.
Mandarin is not pushed to his physical limits, but he's a sly mother fucker.

Between this and Thor looking less than top form in the leaked set pics, it seems there's a sense of humbling these heroes post-Avengers. I imagine Winter Soldier will beat the shit out of Cap in his sequel. http://newgamermagazine.files.wordpr..._man3-sofa.jpg This is still Tony Stark we're talking about. |
movie timeline wise, this takes place after the avengers, right?
Yes, all MCU movies to come take place after Avengers.
figures
?
It was a new shot from Iron Man 3 with Tony and Pepper. Didn't load because god hates me.
lol
the kalyx curse |
Nice.
Darcy?
Maya Hansen.
Darcy will be back in Thor: TDW, though.

Loved the new trailer.

Iron Patriot Poster:

This could have nothing to do with IM3 and I'd still post it somewhere, because I love this man. |
I hope he has a memory problem
seriously, seriously... BAD ASS FUCKING SHOT!
People have pointed out that on the right statue appears to be Captain America's WW2 helmet. If this is accurate, it raises some questions since we seen Mandarin having a Cap tattoo on his neck for some reason.
My bet? He knew Steve Rogers, somehow, because the idea of this guy being a fanboy like Coulson is pretty distant. Then again, it's probably not Cap's helmet. |
Dunno, can't see any other reason to have a blue ww2 helmet in the pic.
Looks clearly like a UN Helmet to me.
I thought about that, but the way it's there just makes me think its a bit more important than a random un helmet.
Plus with the cap tattoo, there's gotta be connection there.
While we're jumping to conclusions, all the dragon stuff clearly means Fin Fang Foom is the real villain of the piece.
I never noticed this Cap tattoo.
Also, it is pretty clearly a UN helmet. The N is plainly seen, and also another letter being before it (most likely a U). |
oh pepper potts how i love thee
She needs to whip em out.
Thought that was an RP post.
I just read something I can't unread. FUCK.
This movie's gonna rock.
Sorta want to know what you read.
Sorta don't. |
I'm careful about what I share if it's spoilerific enough, but sometimes there are tips that I gotta keep to myself as a public service (unless people find out anyway).
Done right, this could be pretty hype on screen. |
I would love to know what and where you saw what you saw. You can put that in my rep or in spoiler tags.
Ditto for me please
And it was one of those 'can't make this shit up' tidbits, my experience informs.
um....HOLY SHIT!!!!!!
Ok I seriously hope that happens to be true now!
Like I said; done right. Otherwise it'll come off shark jumpy and excessive. lol
Damn man. Now I want to know. Someone hook me up.
Read your blog by the way. Do Sony and/or Universal have indefinite rights to Fantastic Four, Spiderman, X-men, etc? Would be a damn shame to not see all those characters together at some point. Especially if they do something based around the Civil War or Skrull Invasion.
Fox (X-Men, FF) and Sony (Spidey) have them for the foreseeable future. Thing is, the movies are actually successful, and they've done right by them for the most. It's a double-edge sword in that in order for these characters to come back home, we'd have to suffer massive box office failures. Not merely critical failures (Spidey 3, X3/Origins), but straight out bombs. Neither studio really messed up that bad yet.
At least Fox is prepping very cool X-Men and FF stuff right now, and Sony may expand things with a Venom movie at least. Also, of the two, Sony seems to be willing to allow little things like the Oscorp tower that barely missed showing up Avengers last year. I think from a narrative standpoint, which is very important, Sony's new Spidey universe is 'open' enough to entertain the idea that it resides in the MCU. While much more explanations would be needed to reconcile Fox's X-Movie-verse with what went down with Marvel. |
Now, something like Civil War can be done without Spider-Man - because the chief players are there and enough thematic bits have already been laid (namely the riff between Tony and Steve). Skrulls can similarly be regulated to FF movies (special note, slight possibly of Fox merging their FF rebooted universe with X-Men).
Shit like Siege and AvX would require every-fucking-body and a lot of paper work so that's not happening. |
Does Fox still have the rights to Daredevil or did Marvel get those back yet?
I liked the last movie enough, but I can only imagine how much better Marvel could do with the character. |
Fox had a deadline to fast track a DD movie last year and they tried their damndest to get something rolling but missed the mark and I THINK DD is back at Fox by now. DD is a package deal that comes with Bullseye, Kingpin, Elektra, and the Hand ninja clan. It's important to note the co-stars and rogues gallery that these deals take with them.
I think Blade and Punisher returned home for sure. And I think once Marvel gets these characters back, they're WAY less likely to hand them out again. |
Yeah the Daredevil rights reverted back to Marvel late last year I think. Blade and Punisher are definitely back with Marvel.
Now to hope Fox's FF reboot isn't crap. Or it runs into massive problems and the rights revert. |
Yeah I remember someone here mentioning a DD movie in the works then it kind of got dropped. So I hoped that meant it went back to Marvel.
From what I've read, Fox is entertaining the idea of letting Marvel use FF and X-Men in a limited capacity. Kinda merging the two studios. They still retain the rights to the two franchises they have and can do their own thing with 'em but if Marvel needs to do a big ol' punch-up scene, they'll be there. Interesting times.
Sony's just blowing themselves if they don't get in on that. |
That seems completely opposite to to what I observed/read. Doesn't even sound like Fox.
It's all speculation to be fair. Maybe it was Sony I was reading about. Eh either way, Marvel wants it's stuff back and now has the money to do so. Might be time to renegotiate some contracts.
They can't just fuck over Fox and Sony who has yet to do wrong. Contracts are contracts.

Soft confirmation on the idea that there are a lot of suits between the Avengers armor and the Gold armor - which increases the validity of that thing we spoke about. |
40 suits is what I heard.
That's the legit number, yes. The gold suit may be 47 even.
How long after Avengers is this movie set? Wasn't his suit in Avengers the "Mark 7"?
Unless he has just been OCD building them instead of sleeping. |
well look at lockjaw all smart and shit
Not long, but the New York experienced freaked him out and he went into R&D overdrive. I wouldn't put it past Stark to build an army of working prototypes in a short amount of time, especially in a paranoid 'there's evil fucking alien/gods out there' state.
I guess that makes sense.
Thank God. Last thing I'd want in a movie about a guy with super powered armour suits powered by a mobile reactor in his chest is for them to fuck up the assembly schedule. My immersion would be ruined.
I know, right?
