NBA 2012-2013 Thread
The preseason ended last night and I am very optimistic about the Hornets.. We def need Gordon to come back and stay healthy because he is our best offensive player.. The rest of the team is young but with the additions of Unibrow Davis and Rivers, NOLA should atleast complete for a playoff spot in the west..
I'm gonna try to go to the Spurs game on Wednesday night.. |
Yo Krispy, be sure to root for my nigga Brian Roberts this season. Probably the nicest guy on the planet.
:y:
I hope the Hornets do well. I really like Anthony Davis. I see the Lakers ending up as the 2nd-3rd seed in the west, making the Finals, then I don't know.
All depends on Mr. Potato Head dumbass Mike Brown
Do you think Kobe will retire after this season??
If they win I'd say def, if they don't I dunno.. |
James Harden traded to the Rockets for Kevin Martin.
Interesting |
Damn..I guess he had to be traded. 2 first rounders next year as well, hopefully top 10. This is big..no way they will be a top seed . I can see top 4 maybe 3 for the playoffs
Big loss for the Thunder but then again he was a bit too stubborn since the last offer was just $5 million less than his max request. Don't think he ever offered a range value and just kept pushing for the max.
Thunder made out pretty well in terms of the future with the set of picks they got. |
That trade eliminates any hope there may have been to avoiding a Heat/Lakers Finals. I just can't see it ending any other way, barring injury.

ESPN did once the Lakers got Nash and Dwight.
They even went as far considering the Thunder (pre-trade), Spurs (experience), and Celtics (got younger) as the only legit spoilers. Everyone else was basically hinted as having no chance or being more of a shock than legit force. Although they did consider Minnesota for some strange reason as the 3rd best team in the West before the recent injury to Love I think. |

While teams like the Celtics and Thunder are still very good, I just don't see them being able to beat the Heat or Lakers in a 7 game series...again barring injury. |
Bulls vs clippers
Predict the playoffs, yeah.. The Championship, no..

James Harden traded... Feels like the Lakers path to the finals got a little clearer even though they're picking up Kevin Martin. He's a good scorer, but they had trouble balancing Westbrook's desire to score with flowing through Durant and I don't think Durant is as domineering as Kobe to where he'd say how things were going to work.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/85...ouston-rockets I'm predicting Celtics vs. Lakers in the finals with Boston pulling it out in 7. |
lol @ people thinking the Thunder had a chance anyway
LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE SHOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW |
haha

Seriously lost a lot of respect for Harden. Leaving OKC just because they couldn't afford a max deal... Harden, Westbrook and KD35 could have ruled the West for years to come, but he decided to be selfish and accept more money to be a starter on a team that will not contend for a title. Disappointing, but it makes the Lakers chances of making the Finals way better.

He declined to sign the 4 year 55 million dollar extension. What does that show? That he doesn't wanna be there. He was gonna bounce at the end of the year anyway, because OKC didn't have the money to give him the deal Houston is gonna give him. He's a piece of shit.

They just didn't want to be luxury taxed. Which was more important to them then keeping the team together.
lol piece of shit? really?
Yes. really. Turning down 55 mil and a chance to continue building that team, which is already great.

well it's not like he burned down an orphanage or raped someone or something
IS THAT A KOBE JOKE
I guess I'm just mad there's no loyalty in sports anymore. Oh well. At the end of the day, it makes the Lakers the odds on favorite to come out of the West.

Kind of
I liked the way those two things went together and then realized it worked as a Kobe joke too |
Quote:
well I mean Dwight Howard isn't exactly the pinnacle of loyalty
GOD DAMMIT ROXER I WAS JUST MAKING THAT POINT
Only thing Kobe is penetrating is the Dallas defense on Tuesday. If he plays, that is. Fucking preseason injuries.
He's a piece of shit for wanting to make the most money he can in his limited career??

Harden never played for the Magic..
 |
I think he was referring to my best friend Dwight Howard.
BTW guys quit bad mouthing my best friend Dwight Howard.
I know.. I was talking about Harden..

"Piece of shit" was an exact SammyG quote describing James Harden..
You didnt quote it BROOOOOOOO. So i scroll up and see Kobe and Dwight, obvious piece's of shits, being discussed and I thought you were talking about Dwight. You need to edit that shit right now so no one else gets confused because that shit is definitely happening.
God forbid Harden gets more money and a starting role. Rockets could suck next year, draft a good player and then jump right back in the playoffs with Harden leading the way.
Utah Jazz are gonna win it all. Book it.

I think you're wrong btw. I've went to 3 preseason games so far. He's developed a really deadly back to the basket fade away 15-20 footer. It's silky smooth. Indiana is about to be Lob City East. George, Plumlee, Green, Sam Young, Augustine passing. I dont know where the defense is going to be, but it's gunna be fun. Gerald Green is potentially the new Bob Sanders. I'm just saying this right now. |

OKC isnt a Metropolis like those cities. The Buffalo Bills sabres sell out every game but dont pull in nearly the revenue of the Rangers or Maple Leafs. Different sport, same point. Corporate Suites are a big factor as is ticket price. |
http://www.statista.com/statistics/1...-team-in-2010/
OKC is middle of the pack in price, but looks at the difference to the teams that can actually afford 100 million dollar luxury bills. |
The Mamba is playing tonight.
Problem with the NBA isn't the luxury tax which was reworked again to be more harsher to big market clubs but instead the actual cap is soo soft that its useless against the big spending teams.
Lakers seem to be the biggest offenders but plenty of other big teams just ignore the cap as long as they have the funds to pay the tax penalties. OKC is smart enough to realize their massive fan base is more due to the fans still in a "honeymoon" status with the team and not because the fanbase is rock solid which is why they don't want to risk their future by splurging on lots of big deals. Miami's fanbase is the best example of this where they show up in droves for the 2006 title year and then disappear en masse within a year or two later. |
I'm kinda pumped for the games tonight..
WAR Celts |
Spolstra always looks like he is seeing someone raping a cat..
I'm actually going to watch as much NBA as I can this season guys. Just got the free trial for NBA Online Pass until the 7th of November.
It's a bit of a bastard having to stay up late for the games though. |
First year I've ever had NBA TV so I will be right there with you..
Must be weird for lebron to wear the warm up celebrating the heat's 06 title
Both teams are on fire..
Fast pace game so far.. |
Might skip on NBA League Pass this year. Mad expensive
Cs need to cut down on the turnovers although nice to see them finally start rebounding better since they've been pretty horrible with that on defense the past 2-3 years.
Miami still looking like a tough team to defend on the 3s like they were in the playoffs last season. |
Wizards with the first loss of the season...probably many more to come
Varejao went nuts today, 23 boards. Dude was 1 point and 1 assist short of a triple double. Also, the Celtics have a lot to work on defensively, damn
Dwight rockin them purple sleeves like I told him to

Jamison is suuuch a bum, oh my god
End the season now so Cavs are in playoffs
This Princeton offense is stupid to run. It's a high school offense, basically. Gotta utilize Steve Nash more.
Big fan of Steve Nash.
Mike Brown is honestly a clown. I want to bring Sloan in.
Embarrassing. Good job, Mike Brown. 0-9, counting preseason.
DAAAAAAAAAA MATRIX
Never was a fan of Mike Brown, be it Cleveland or here...dude isnt a head coach. One game doesnt make or break a season, and the offense is still being implemented, but I don't have an ounce of faith in Mike Brown.
What really gets me is all the shit I heard about Mike Brown being a defensive coach and blah blah, yet his teams have never been defensively 'good'.
He doesn't pick the players. Not his fault if they can't play defense. He didn't draft or hire em.

Only one game Laker fans but the offense seems to restrict Nash . lolmikebrown

Gotta see when the Bulls play, brb.
