Schlomey's Wrestling Thread aka My Attempt To Legitimize The Wrestling Forums
For most of 2012 I have complained that the Wrestling Forum has gone down hill. So far down, in fact, that I have kept a running count of reasons why I should stop venturing into it at all.
Well now it is 2013 and Schlomey is no longer sitting back and letting those trampoline fedders and newbie "Cena should turn heel" assholes ruin this place for him. Post in here if you are fed up with the lack of quality provided in the wrestling forums BUT be warned that you will be getting gunned down by my brothers in black if you post ridiculous tirades. Next order of business: Who wants to join this new world organization? You think you have the right to wear the black bandanna? We will see..... My first step in legitimizing the Wrestling Forums is to continue my video series, for those of you who can't read or don't know how to use YouTube, go shoot yourself...but first watch the links provided. |

Loved the LHW division in 2001, Jerry Lynn, Essa Rios, Jeff Hardy, Malenko, Crash Holly etc were tearing it up on Heat every week. On a par w/ the WCW cruisers in their prime IMO.
|
The LHW division in 2001 eludes me. I was "on break" from wrestling at the time. Slowly over the years I have caught matches from that period. Most of them had Kurt Angle or Chris Benoit in the main event role which I find unusual from where I had left off.
Malenko in WCW was easily top 5 all time favorite but I can't remember even 1 match he was in in WWE. Maybe that is where I should go next on my list.... |

This is a good idea and you have my full support.

Down with trampolines!
Then back up again. Then down with trampolines! Then back up again Then down with trampolines, ripping through it, breaking both legs, because the kid weighs 375 pounds |

I've been following the following DDP has going on with getting old wrasslers back in shape and off drugs and booze.
So far Jake the Snake and Scott Hall. |
I fail to see how Bobby Jaggers factors into this

Hey, does anybody think the WWE should cut out the kiddie crap and go back to PG-13 and end this PG garbage.

I am all for helping legitimize the wrestling forum if you will have me Mr. Schlomey
|
Really looking forward to Raw tonight, hope it does not let me down. (And by that I mean I hope Punk does not lose)

My wife who is NOT a wrestling fan but does watch with me on occasion to appease me had a conversation while watching some wrestling the other night. First we watched a few CM Punk matches from his Blu Ray. No issue. Then we watched a Royal Rumble from the Attitude Era. Some sexual references and a lot of language. She got really confused by that. We both came to the conclusion that cussing and excess blood does NOT help nor make wrestling better. It has it's place and can enhance matches on occasion but over saturation of anything dulls the product. I found myself getting embarrassed by the language and perverse nature of the Attitude Era product. It was awesome when potty words were cool when I was a teenager but now I find it crass and totally unnecessary. Lack of blood and language has, in some ways, helped the product become MORE mainstream but more importantly makes the wrestlers work harder to tell a great story. Everyone will have an opinion on the matter I just wanted to share a persons point of view that has not been tainted by years of fandom and more importantly years of being a jaded message board attendee. |
New topic. Do you prefer wrestling or rasslin?

Define rasslin

Hey, anybody think CM Punk is a terrible draw? Fucking vanilla midget. |
punk is a whiny bitch
|
Punk draws me in. Since I'm not an analyst I'd say that's good enough.
|
Remember when the Godfather went away for a while and then came back and the announcers were like "Godfather opened his own escort service. He's gone legitimate!" like that was somehow an extra layer to his character.
Your thread title reminded me of that. |
As for a Cena heel turn: if it happens it happens. He will never wrestle the style that I really enjoy on more than a casual basis so it really wouldn't change how I view his work.
|
Also, how bout the effin Godfather man? Brother never wrestled a 3 star match in his life but always found a way to get work and get pushed.
|

I turned legit without leaving....granted I'm not getting laid much. :| |
How about that Goodfather. He was like the Godfather only he didn't participate in unsavoury activities.
|
Yawn. Gertner for dinner again!?

This is they type of response this thread deserves. :y: it doesn't hurt that I completely agree. He was never a favorite but damn that guy was always a solid company man. Papa Shango scared the fuck out of me as a kid. |
You know who else was solid?
Bastion fucking Booger. He had a workrate of 8.37 |
You know who I remember? Tiger Cheung Lee. Man was Asian ya know.
|
Schlomey Lesnar.
|
You know who else I remember: Tom Brandi. Guy used to be Salvatore Sincere ya know.
|
The American Dream Schlomey Rhodes just attacked Gertner with....with...he..he he got a bicycle!

|
I mean, it might as well be 100,001 replies and the corresponding RAW or PPV thread for the week

I am with the movement to save the wrestling forum. Schlomey lead the way!
|
Well obviously I can't even have 1 thread for serious conversation so I moved up north to the group forum. Possibly leaving this shit hole behind for good.
|
lol
|
and then you invited Shisen Kopf to your serious wrestling group
that's another lol |
Yes I've already deleted one of his threads. I like the guy but I highly doubt he will last. Sorry Shisen.
|
You can't like Shisen Kopf and then bitch about how this forum isn't serious.
That doesn't make any sense at all. |
I like him and I like his care free nature. I assumed if I put him in a more serious environment with actual discussions that MAYBE I could get some good stuff out of him all the while keeping a good sense of humor.
It's too early to tell if my guinea pig experiment will work or not..... |
If not it's one click of a button.
|
It's okay I didn't want to be part of your group anyway! A secret forum that not everyone is invited to? I wouldn't dream of being involved in such a thing.
|
Of course not, it's unspeakable evil.
|
Don't feel disrespected. I'm busy at work this is slow but steady. Rome wasn't built in a day.
|
"We both came to the conclusion that cussing and excess blood does NOT help nor make wrestling better."
Stone Cold Vs. Bret Hart WM13. I call bullshit. These two things can help make wrestling better in certain places, but maybe it was overdone in the attitude era. You just folded to what your new Christian wife's point of view on it. Siding with the wife is a good thing, but don't bullshit us here about it. |

Cussing is how a lot of real people talk. If you don't have a lot of it the product can look faker than it already is. I agree that the Attitude era went overboard with the sexual stuff and violence against women. Although Bubba took most of those tables with his huge ass. |
I will agree with you that you gave a great example. That match was epic and the blood, I agree, helped. That is just not one I'm showing the wife.
|
There's no swearing on almost any other primetime television show or sporting event. Why is wrestling different?
|
Because it's not a sport it's a (greek) drama/comedy. Watch any other cable channel (FX and Comedy Central I'm focusing on you) and you hear shit, asshole, pussy etc....and you see bare asses, too.
Sons of Anarchy isn't far off from WWE and it makes the WWE look like Sesame Street. |
Quote:
Was going to say the same thing about FX with the League, It's Always Sunny in Phildelpha and Louie. |
I don't think I've seen his ass yet but I could be wrong.
|
I've been saying for years that wrestling would be so much better if I could see a butt or two.

You also don't see any of that on White Collar, Suits, Psych, Necessary Roughness or any of USA's other shows. Even if it's not a "safe harbor" issue, it's a network standard. And I've never been taken out of an episode of Burn Notice because Sam isn't swearing, even though that's"how people talk."
|
Couldn't say since I only watch Psych. Except for Burn Notice the others shows seemed like vanilla drama. Burn Notice is pretty violent though right? What's the real problem with having rampant gun violence and not light swearing?
|
If you are indeed creating a group for this, I am all for it. Only thing that brings me here is wrestling stuff anyhoo, and the occasional video game talk.
|
can't tell if this is tongue in cheek or not, my TPWW sleuth-esque deduction skills have taken a beating via inactivity
|
And whose fault is that?
|
Jonjo Shelvey's. The sight of his bonce put me in a coma for like a month http://www.colombiaembassy.org/imgs/...moticon-i1.png
|
You watch what you say about the greatest young Mr Burns impressionist of our time.
|
Hey you guys. You guys. You guys remember Jesus of Los Boriquas? He was Puerto Rican.
|
And in an attempt to get this discussion back on track and address some of wrestling's highlights... do you think any return will ever match HHH returning from the quad tear? And a bonus question... do you think if it hadn't been hyped like hell and been a surprise do you think it would have gone as well?
|
I think that Heath Slater should be World Champion
Also, do you guys remember Chainz of DOA? I wonder if he's 2 Chainz dad? |
How do we legitimize a bunch of bastards? :?:

Me and my kid just watched this one together at bedtime. He is a d-bry kid and of course I'm a punk mark. Fun match and a great start to their match series. 8/10 |
1/10. Nobody watched. Nobody cared. NO BUYS!
|
Over The Limit is typically my least favorite PPV of the year.
And for the record, as a fan of both of these guys I don't care who bought it. I have said it before, I am not an analyst for the WWE so what do I care who paid and who didn't? I just liked the match. The crowd was hot for the entire match so I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that at least someone other than me cared. I know your feelings on these 2 guys but blatantly lying and rating it lower than a Great Khali title win is ridiculous. |

Had it been a surprise, it would have been just as big, probably just not right off the bat. Once people learned of it, it would have been a big deal. Honestly though, hyping the return of a beast like HHH (used to be) was a very wise move. Easily one of the most memorable moments from the attitude era IMO. |
Was that when he returned to face King Booker or was that a different injury?
|
he came back, won the rumble and the undisputed title from Jericho at WM if I recall.
