NHL 2013 Thread
Leafs are probably gonna go 48-0, but it won't matter because I'm not watching a game this year.
Sabres are my darkhorse Oilers won't make the playoffs Finals will be Rangers vs Blues Rangers in 6 |
Go Wild. I guess.
Go Penguin Team!
Avs.

Bruins vs Hawks
No idea who to guess.
ESPN's preview for the Northeast was pretty interesting since it teased to expect a lot more brawls and fighting than normal now that the Sabres and Canadiens added a lot of "tough" guys to go along with what the Bs have.
Leafs have Mike Brown. Yay.
B's have tough guys?
Nice to get Carcillo back. Get some toughness back. Cant wait to see Raffi Torres.
And that's the first time anyone's said that
BRUINS
lulz the Blackhawks first 12 games of the schedule. Horrible NHL.
I was going to try to go to a capitals game for the first time since they played in the us air arena in landover MD, but tix are not cheap like I expected
They should make them as cheap as possible at first as an apology.
I can't even find em cheap on cl
I mean, $40 sounds cheap but its all the way at the top of Verizon center. I sat in the very last row at the top of Verizon center for starcade 98 and couldn't see anything... |
Go Kings Go

So the Penguins played a televised exhibition game last night. Split into a white team and a black team and played with themselves. So if you ever wanted to know what it looks like when a hockey team masturbates, there was your answer.
And, seriously, Penguins. They're unstoppable over a 4 month period. |
Leafs deal Lombardi and waive Connolly.
I HATED Lombardi. Completely useless, terrible on face offs and didn't backcheck. Connolly just isn't what the team needs. They have a bit of a log jam at center, so he had to go. Too small and fragile. |
Honestly thought he was going to mesh with Kessel.
Looks like Kadri, Frattin and Komarov are making the team. Really hope Holzer doesn't.
Not gonna matter because I'm not watching this year anyways! |

great play by Seabrook to get it started. |
All kinds of points for the Big 3 and still more than half a game to go. Stomping the champs out in there own house.
Crawford gives up some of the worst goals lol. He's not even looking where the puck is coming from. Come on.
Why cant i watch Flyers v Pens on NBC Sports network?????? Why is there a fucking college game on? NBC clearly dont get it.
Sharp, Bolland and Kane. How about that for your second line?
FYI, CBC has live web streaming of all HNIC games.
I'm watching Sens vs Jets right now. http://www.cbc.ca/player/Sports/Live...ID/2277790001/ Leafs vs Habs at 7est. Ducks vs Canucks at 10est. I was hoping to see a fan backlash against the NHL/NHLPA, but I'm not missing the 60th Season Premiere of HNIC. It was a shame that the 60th Season celebration was almost totally derailed by the lock out. |
Gertie, usual avatar bet? on month?
Hockeyyyyyyyy
:D Bs win and looked a lot sharper or ready than the Rangers did from the lockout. Last year they struggled a lot against the Rangers.
Detroit is being raped.
Hard fought win by the DALLAS STARS tonight! Season looks bright.
Pens looking mighty again tonight so far. Loving the Brandon Sutter move so far. James Neal might end up with the most goals on the team and that's even with Malkin and Crosby there healthy all year.
aaaahaha fuck you flyers.

Colton Orr dropped John Scott tonight. Scott's first loss in the 4 years he's been in the league. Sick kidney punch.
Colton Orr and Shawn Thornton are the two best fighters in the NHL.
Shawn Thornton is the best technical fighter I've seen in years.
Orr is VERY hit or miss. He's gotten dropped a lot lately. I didn't have a lot of hope when I saw him fighting Scott. For my money though, Brian McGratten is the best fighter in the league today. |
Jared Boll is my favorite atm.
I'm certainly noticed more teams are carrying enforcers this year.
Going off the top of my head here. Lol this is the one aspect of hockey I'm an expert in.
Toronto: Orr, Brown Ottawa: Neil, Smith to an extent Boston: Thornton, Lucic, McQuaid, Campbell Buffalo: Scott, McCormick Montreal: Prust, Moen Pittsburgh: Engeland, Glass Rangers: Asham, Rupp Flyers: Rinaldo, Sestito, Shelley Devils: Janssen, Barch Islanders: Boulton, Martin, Finley Jets: Thornburn Caps: Hendricks Canes: Westgarth, Harrison Lightning: Labide, Crombeen Florida: Parros Avs: McLeod, Bordeleau Wings: Tootoo Coyotes: Bissonette, Chipchura Blues: Reaves Preds: McGratten Hawks: Bolig, Mayers, Carcillo, Brookbank Blue Jackets: Boll, Dorsett Stars: nobody really Sharks: Mclaren Wild: Kassian, Konopka Ducks: Staubitz Flames: Jackman Oilers: Hordichuk Kings: Stewart Canucks: Kassian, Weise Ducks: nobody really |
That's more fighters than I can remember the league having in quite some time which is good to see
going to a fight and a hockey game breaks out?
I'm a Leaf fan. The fights are all I've had to look forward to lately.
Bissonette and Bollig had a nice fight Sunday night
Patrick Bordeleau is a gigantic monster of a man. This is my contribution to the fighting discussion since I haven't ever seen him fight.
He's a very good fighter. He and Matt Kassian have had so good ones in the AHL. Definitely going to lighten the load for Cody McLeod.

Bordeleau is a bit out of Konopka's weight class. McLeod is a fairer fight.
I hope someone stabs Matt Cooke in the throat with a broken stick.
Never happens but I hope. |
He's been keeping himself outof trouble lately. Kaleta on the other hand needs a beatdown.

Has Gary Bettman showed up in an arena yet? Or is he still worried about being killed?
I've been anti-Bettman since he came into the NHL, however, Fehr is far more hated (by me).
I love that photo of Paul MacLean's doppleganger. :y: |
Zach Parise. Yus.

Trade to someone needing a goalie. |
Colton Orr and Derek Engelland just had a fucking war! I'll have to upload it later.
Blackhawks might not lose a game this year. Not with Marian the Barbarian Hossa playing like he bullies God for fun sometimes.
Hossa has been a beast

Bordeleau just had his first fight
Jesus christ, saw the leafs islanders highlights. Scrivens is God awful. He should not be a NHL goaltender.
Quote:
Would love to see a McGratten vs Bordeleau fight because those two would be throwing bombs the entire fight. Somebody would get knocked out. |
that guy who he fought really did hold firm, I was terrified that Bordy was going to tear something in his shoulder with how he was swinging.
I don't know what they were thinking starting Scrivens over Reimer this season. He's a backup right now, and he'll probably never be more. Reimer can be a number one, but he's been injured and fucked around with so much that he'll probably never be the player he could've been.
Been saying this for a while: Scrivens is not an NHL goaltender. Not even a back up. Would like to see the Leafs sign Brent Johnson to back up Reimer and give the occasional solid start when needed.

Interesting, I was wondering if he was just doing that since he was excited or something. He's a much better skater than I expected from what I had heard about him.
Trade Gardiner to Minnesota for Hackett or Kuemper. Money.
That was one of the best Blackhawk games i've ever seen last night. I just watched it this morning.
