HHH vs UT.

HHH vs. Taker, Punk-Bryan-Kane and Punk-Bryan from MITB are close behind though.

I voted Elimination Chamber due to entertaining shenanigans between Daniel Bryan and Big Show. DB was like Jack of beanstalk fame in the giant's castle when he cowered down in the pod away from Show's grasp!

I do not see anything close to Mania.....everything else is far behind its rearview mirror.....

I actually thought Extreme Rules was the best 3 hours of WWE the whole year, and without any fillers like Wrestlemania had.

True...but had the Brock Lesnar/John Cena match from Extreme Rules been in the poll, I would've had a tough time deciding.

Trips/Taker wins in a not so close race with the TLC match.

The TLC match was pretty damn good, but NOTHING holds up againt Taker v HHH.

Undertaker/Triple H gets my vote it was in a league of it's own.

Tough choice between Mania, MitB, and TLC but went with Shield vs Ryback/Hell No from TLC.

TLC match had me into it from the very beginning and I enjoyed it more than the HIAC match with 'Taker-Trips. That one dripped with overdramatics and I just didn't care about two part-timers as much as I did about the new characters involved in the TLC match.

Taker v. Triple H, hands down.

THis is a good point, I'm moore inclined to look to the future than the past and given the raw materials, the tlc match was a grreat acheivement.

To chance getting things back on track:

I voted for HHH vs Undertaker. I'm not 100% sure it was a better match than Ryback and Hell No vs Sheild but the ending with HHH, HBK and Taker all standing tall together was immense. A moment frozen in time not seen since 2004 when Flair waved his goodbye..I found that even more powerful than HBK's retirement.

So I'm torn between the 2 matches. An unforgettable "goodbye" match or a match with some rookies with hopfully long careers impressing the world in their debut....gah.

mike adamle, I highly suggest you forge your own path rather than just copy the work of posters who've come before you.

After reviewing the list and re-watching several of the matches I'd have to say that while the undercard of 2012 PPV's were lacking most months these main events were partially incredible.

Really was a good year for big time matches. The worst 2 matches on that list (IMO) are Big Show-Sheamus and HHH-Lesnar, and I loved both of those.

I can't wait for the rumble this year. Both the rumble match and Punk-Rock. The show could be comparable to Royal Rumble 2000 that had the awesome WWF Title street fight and the royal rumble match on it. Should be real fun.

I'm more pumped for this Rumble than any other year. Barring Mania attractions the RR is my favorite hour of wrestling of the year...even the years its not so great (like last year..I'm looking at you King, Booker & Cole).

Yeah TLC was awesome, but wasn't on par with the classic HIAC. Just the environment and feel of that match brought more than what the TLC match brought, not a knock to that match, but come on. Two legends in Hell In A Cell versus a bunch of rookies trying to make their name.

But everyone expected the HIAC match to be awesome and emotional. I don't remember reading quite the love for the TLC match.

You didn't know who was in the match, I've watched Seth and Ambrose from the indys so I expected what I saw.

No. I had somewhat of an idea but nobody really knew what to expect. And very few thought they were going to get the win. Most importantly they took a match that was never supposed to happen and created a "WM Moment" when it wasn't even Wrestlemania. Better match? Probably not but it is def. still worth discussing.

Not when the discussion is match of the year though.

Saying the TLC match was better than the HIAC match is like saying Super Troopers was a better movie than Goodfellas. Yeah it was fun, but come on. The other thing had substance, it had staying power. It was special.

I agree HHH hitting the Undertaker with a chair for 5 minutes does not equal match of the year.

For some reason, I couldn't not vote for Sheamus v. Bryan at Extreme Rules. I just really loved the shit out of that match. For as upset as I was at the 18 second match at Wrestlemania, that really tied it all together quite nicely.
