WrestleMania was the first WrestleMania, and the only WrestleMania to not have a number associated with it.

The 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania was Wrestlemania 26....as Wrestlemania 26 took place 25 years after the first Wrestlemania. By WWE's logic, if WM 25 is the 25th anniversary, then WM 1 was the first anniversary.

I believe Chris Jericho is the only man to open one Wrestlemania and close the next.

Fox 01-31-2013 12:10 AM

--The only wrestlers to be in the final match at their FIRST WrestleMania:
- Hulk Hogan WM1
- Mr. T WM 1
- Roddy Piper WM 1
- Paul Orndorff WM 1
- Ted DiBiase WM 4
- Sgt. Slaughter WM 7
- Sid WM 8
- Yokozuna WM 9
- Lawrence Taylor WM 11
- Brock Lesnar WM 19

--There has only ever been one steel cage match in all 28 WrestleManias.

--WrestleMania 2000's 9-match card featured only one singles match, and it was a Thong Catfight.

--Chris Benoit's World Heavyweight Title victory at WrestleMania 20 was the first time that the main event ended in a submission. WrestleManias 22, 23, and 24 have all ended with a submission victory.

--WrestleMania XIX was the first time that the two wrestlers in the main event (Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle) were competing under their real birth names.

WrestleMania XIX was the first and only to be held in the state of Washington.
The first under the WWE brand name.
The first to take place following the brand extension.

AND the first live event attended by James Diesel

Bad News Gertner 01-31-2013 12:38 AM

Michael Cole has the same amount of singles victories at Wrestlemania as the Big Show.

Road Warrior 01-31-2013 03:26 AM

John Cena and The Undertaker are the only two men to win both the World Heavyweight Chapmpionship and the WWE/WWF title at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania has been associated with Donald Trump and/or his properties on 3 occasions:

- WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V were both hosted at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ.

- Donald Trump himself backed Bobby Lashley against Mr. McMahon’s selected opponent of Umaga at WrestleMania 23 in a “Battle of the Billionaires” (or Billion Hairs... :shifty:) in which either Mr. McMahon or Trump would have their head shaven bald by the winning superstar.

In the first 28 editions, 1,178,434 fans have attended a live WrestleMania event combined.

The highest ever attendance at a WrestleMania is 93,173 at WrestleMania III.
The lowest ever attendance at a WrestleMania is 16,158 at WrestleMania VII.

XL 01-31-2013 03:30 PM

Shouldn't that be "93,173"?

And had it not been for the Miller Lite Catfight girls, it would've been the most boring match of that WrestleMania

James Steele 02-01-2013 06:18 AM

I found the finish extremely dramatic and the Ric Flair involvement in the match was masterful psychology. Triple H even busted out the Indian Deathlock.

Bad News Gertner 02-01-2013 06:29 AM

It was pretty boring James Steele. Even for a HHH match.

James Diesel 02-01-2013 06:36 AM

It was just one of those matches even the Indian Deathlock couldn't save. And I don't necessarily think it was to any fault of HHH's. Hell, it could've been because of Booker T. It was just a high-caliber match with very little interest going in and coming out of it.

Bad News Gertner 02-01-2013 06:37 AM

Because you knew without a doubt HHH wasn't putting Booker T over.

Joesgonnakillyou 02-01-2013 06:40 AM

I went through a very long period of hating HHH and that match was the peak. I know people can defend it by saying he was selling the effects of the match but did he really have to wait 4 minutes before pinning Booker after the pedigree?

James Steele 02-01-2013 06:40 AM

Well duh. He had 5 runs with the WCW World Title and look what it did for them. Smart move by Vince.
