I got quite bored of Battlefield 3 like I do most military shooters, but news of Battlefield 4 should be dropping 'within 90 days'.

So why would I be excited about that? Well, GDC is before the 90 days and it's becoming more and more accepted that MS's Durango and Sony's Orbis will be showed off there and this has some more fuel in dat fire.

There was a leak from EA China too that was assumed fake, but it called almost every detail of the last BF3 DLC, so now it's believed to be real. PEEP DIS:

Battlefield 4 should have splitscreen play, at least two people should head online and rock. Me and my roomy taking turns on BF is the one thing we dislike the most. And I don't wanna hear anything about technical limitations with Sony and Microsoft's dick size contest letting specs "leak" to the public.

The next gaming generation, for me, is the generation of no excuses.

I think it looks quite promising, it wasnt gonna be a huge step forward only 2 years on.

Plus BF3 still looks amazing.

According to DICE, the reason there is no Wii U version is not due to anything bad with the Wii U itself but because they are "playing it safe" with the development.

Also implies the differences between the current and next gen console versions won't be that great (besides graphics) unlike Battlefield 3 was between the PC and Xbox 360/PS3.

I really want a capture device because I tend to have 'heroic' Battlefield moments on a regular and with these massive set-pieces and dramatic atmosphere changes shit is going to be wild.

Oh god yes. Was recently in a game where I drove tanks the whole game capping points like a boss. But the awesome part was I took down 4 choppers in motion from fairly decent distance, and finally a jet. All with the regular cannon.

Got 1st place, and felt like an absolute beast.

There was a run I did from one capture point to another that, and I'm not boasting here, had me looking like an Expendable. My old roommate also had one of the most action packed motorcycle chases of an enemy taking his flag I ever seen in a game. It even ended in a one on one shootout before a team helicopter got involved for an epic save.

I love battlefield.

Then you best start playing it. I like communicating but no one ever talks. Need people to squad up with.

Last night I sent a typo, I meant to say I don't have B3 right now. I'd have to buy it and get Premium all over again. That's a lot of downloading.

I would certainly do it, though, because I love Battlefield.

I am so down for Tuesday, but saddened that the last three Battlefield games had major server issues launch week.

I'm getting this on next gen, so I'm going to have to wait another month or so.

I'm also holding out for 64 player goodness.

I'm having fucking fun fucking now. The old Battlefield input sluggishness is way reduced. Servers are working at launch for the first time in Battlefield this gen. Loving this.

To me it's odd. PS4 clearly has the technical advantage rendering at 900p vs the XBone at 720p as well as better quality textures, but the AA used in the PS4 version makes everything look like they've smeared butter over everything and I don't really like that.


The PS3 version has an option to turn the AA off, so I'm hoping this follows suit.

This game is fun.

Besides new graphics and maps...what else is new? Looks like the same thing as Battlefield 3?

If you're playing B3 you'll love B4. If you have to ask maybe it's for you, though. Decide yourself.

Game freezes randomly. Server searches aren't working well. Ye be warned.

Fucking blast when you're in, though. Having a good squad is still hard to come by, even though literally goes out of it's way to promote teamwork. Your perks (done as a fighting game-like meter) don't even activate unless you work with your team. People still suck ass.

Dunno, maybe I can grab it in a couple weeks and we can squad up. Trying to save for a new laptop though so I dunno.

My strengths lie in tanks and in stealthily capping points on foot.

I am so bad at this. Between having to learn new maps, playing on a new pad and the increased player count from last gen console, I've got a lot to get used to.

Once again, being "forced" into playing this with my buddies. The one game I gotta learn how to play online. Always preferred Call of Duty. Pick up and play.

I have yet to boot up Ghosts, but have loved giving my time to Battlefield this year. I think the game is fundamentally the same, but smaller things (like showing a kill cam that highlights the enemy that took you out) greatly improves the pacing.

During the TPWW blackout me and Kalyx ran a few games together that were down to the wire. Its a rush man.

War is Hell, bring friends.

None of the maps in this are really grabbing me in the same way as some of the BF3 maps did. Not really experienced any of the really intense fights you used to get on maps like Operation Metro, Grand Bazaar or Seine Crossing. Maybe in time.

At least Operation Metro is getting redone for one of the DLC packs. How I love that map.

The DLC is going spectacularly wrong, on PS4 anyway. The first map pack came out yesterday and is still totally unplayable for some reason.

Havent booted up on Next Gen yet, but I havent really run into issues on the 360.

I played the China Rising DLC a bit today, but it does have issue signing in at times.

Dice is going to focus on fixing these things before releasing the next DLC.

Yeah, this is what I'm hearing:

360/PS3: Mostly fine
PC: Horrible launch, issues mostly fixed
PS4/XB1: OH GOD WHY WHYYYY WOULD YOU UNLEASH ALL THESE ISSUES ONTO THE WORLD.

My friend had this game so I played it... got stuck driving around this fuckin jeep on the first level for like 30 minutes... was really funny/weird

Went to online and got like 50/50 in kills and deaths... haven't played an "FPS" in like 3 years

Carrier Assault is great, though barren on 360 even with a full room. I gotta see a 60+plyr game! The maps are great, and kinda relaxing in a strange way.

Just got this for Xbox One.

Won't be playing tonight though, since there is a 2 god damn gigabyte god damn update and install.

Also, can't afford premium atm, so will only be on the default maps for the next couple weeks.

Got to play one match last night and it was fantastic. Sooooooo much better than the 24 player battles on 360. Will prolly be on later.

Also, what is the best mode to level up in? Way behind everyone else in unlocks and such, and I want to catch up.

Domination, the infantry conquest. Feels like CoD how many times you'll die, but you'll find a fucker every second. Playing Conquest correctly will net MAJOR points, too. You don't even have to win.

Conquest - points, general lvl ups.
Domination - weapons unlocks, add-ons.
Rush - Vehicle unlocks

Yeah, Dom is easily the fastest...expect to die often, but the sheer amount of action means you'll get points quicker than Conquest, which you can be idle for minutes at a time.

Assume playing conquest correctly means capping points, using your kits special equipment, spotting enemies, etc.

I wouldnt even touch Conquest unless you're feeling up to it.

Dom will net big points, as well as some pretty solid gun unlocks if you stick to the stronger short ranged ones.

For vehicle unlocks, i'd put Rush at the top of my list. Maps are smaller, fights are more concentrated.

lol yeah, tried to sneak around the edges of the map like a cool guy to get to one of their points. 10 minutes of solid snake sneaking just to get sniped as I got to the CP.

At least I spotted a bunch of shit on the way.

Also, if you plan on getting Premium, dont worry about unlocking pistols, shotguns, dmrs, or grenades, as they currently have shortcut kits free to those who subscribe.

I got really nasty with the tanks in BF3. Was taking choppers out of the sky at distance, and even caught a jet once.

Committed to learning how to fly shit in this game. They need like a private match that you can use to just fuck around and practice flying.

Dom and TDM are truthfully the best for getting points, simply because they make the maps so much smaller that its impossible NOT to get into a gun fight every 30-45 seconds. Youll die often, but youll kill just as often, so you take the good with the bad on those.

Some of the biggest jumps in levels I got was from Conquest.

I've only been playing Conquest so far and have finished middle of the pack the last few games. About 4,000-5,000 points. Spent most of those games gunning in a tank. Spotting and killing fools.

Obliteration sounds really cool. Sweet that CTF is in too.

CTF is fun. Tanks being able to hold flags is harsh.

some. If you played Conquest exclusively, soloing, theres no fuckin way you'd rank up at a consistent level.

This is me we're talking about, though. Not to be cocky or anything.

On X1 you would need a squad for those bumps since there's less food to go around with 60+ guys running around, but it's possible. Just gotta find where the party is and claim the land.

Kalyx isn't wrong. Actually a lot easier to cap points in last gen BF. On Xboxone, it seems theres always somebody around to contest the cap. That's certainly not a bad thing though.

I don't remember what map it was, but me and like 9 other dudes on my team had a shoot out across a canal with around the same number of guys on the opposing team. 3 man squads would go over and try and flank them and they did the same. All the while, copters are battling in the sky, and tanks are blowing shit up nearby.

Fucking 64 player battlefield is the fucking shit.
