wrestling moments we can all agree on

in the seemingly endless amount of disagreement in posts (and gertner just disagreeing with everyone & and everything to make himself feel like a unique snowflake) is it possible to find a moment that the whole forum agrees on.

a random moment where an angle/match/etc was put on or carried out that went perfectly, generated the proper response and is looked back on as logical.

lets try . we will see how many posts this goes before someone shits on this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfp2yInnV5M part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kevec12cZwI part 2

money right from the get go, jericho at his charasmatic best in the intros.
Dean Malenko getting an insane pop & going to town on Chris in the match.

so who thinks this was well done and flawles overall? who will be the first to find fault in this

Bad News Gertner 02-21-2013 03:03 AM

Malenko is a vanilla midget and boring. Yawn. He's the posterchild of boring. Get that nonsense out of here.

Mankind getting thrown off the HITC is more like it.

What about DDP? DDP must surely be universally loved?

DDP's WWE debut is one of my favorite mark out moments of all time, I think most people can agree. The ensuing angle was liquid shit, but that moment was awesome.

Nicky Fives 02-21-2013 12:33 PM

"I'm sorry, I love you" *superkick

Shadrick 02-21-2013 12:43 PM

Honestly, I agree with AlGerto 99% of the time.

Anybody Thrilla 02-21-2013 02:07 PM

I was never a huge fan of DDP's ring work. He seems to be an awesome person or whatever, but I won't be buying a DDP DVD any time soon.

Wrestlemania 24's Superkick though, I'm on board with.

Anybody Thrilla 02-21-2013 02:08 PM

I also want to throw out Randy Savage proposing to Miss Elizabeth.

When Brad Hamilton became OCW champ. That was serious business that we all loved.

The end of Taker/HBK II at Mania.

JimmyMess 02-21-2013 03:09 PM

I like this thread idea.... but you started it off with a really weird one.

Austin's involvement kinda soured all of that for me. It essentially had nothing to do with Mankind, and everything to do with a continuation of Austin/McMahon.

You are to Gertner as Stevie Richards was to Raven.

Anybody Thrilla 02-21-2013 03:43 PM

Why were Stevie's cut-off jean shorts perceived as 'gay' when most wrestlers wear even shorter trunks on a regular basis?

i intended to make multiple threads each one seperate with ideas to see how the whole forum rated them to see who agrees on what, then everyone started with their mankind off the cell

Savio 02-21-2013 04:07 PM

we all agree that katie vick was shit

Heisenberg 02-21-2013 04:10 PM

Razor Ramon vignettes were the shit.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-21-2013 04:26 PM

We all agree that Wrestlemania is a WWE pay per view that occurs on an annual basis.

NormanSmiley 02-21-2013 04:27 PM

will anyone say katie vick was not shit? will anyone openly admit it?

Supreme Olajuwon 02-21-2013 04:28 PM

We all agree that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's favourite finishing maneuver is generally referred to as a "Stone Cold Stunner"

Bret screwed Bret.

KyleEmmott 02-21-2013 05:31 PM

We all can agree that the ending to the HBK/Flair match was amazing, the 'Sorry,I love you' & immediately grabbing him after the pin.

It was brilliant. Triple H was a heel. Triple H did a vile, wretched, and very heelish thing. Brilliant booking that uppity mother fuckers like you can't wrap your head around. Get over it. It happened and it was hilarious.

Did anybody complain when Earthquake squashed Damien? No.

I'm still wondering who ate the spaghetti after HHH got done thrusting it.

Tommy Dreamer. That is what led to that disgusting gimmick where he drank Undertaker's tobacco spit and shit.

XL 02-21-2013 07:01 PM

Woah! I don't remember the vignette where Dreamer ate Taker's shit!

yup. I don't believe most people that slate it really even remember it or watched it, just the whole uproar around it and following the leader.

MoFo 02-21-2013 07:15 PM

Shawn Michaels is the GOAT, but his matches @ Wrestlemania have been bpring as fuckk.

Mania 19 is his only good match @ Mania IMO

Bad News Gertner 02-21-2013 11:45 PM

DDP is a good story all around. Started out as a manager, began wrestling at an older ae and achived a ton. Plus he's a genuinly good guy which is rare in wrestling.

His feud with Savage was fantastic. Great matches with those two. Plus his match at Halloween Havoc is a gem that nobody talks about.

Hogan slamming Andre. What a moment, especially as a young fan growing up.

Theo Dious 02-21-2013 11:49 PM

Certainly we can all agree that Hogan slamming Andre was an epic moment with few and any equals.

The pulse of the WWE Universe beat you to the punch. No shame in that.

Bad News Gertner 02-21-2013 11:52 PM

Hogan forming the NWO was a revolutionary moment. Went downhill after, but that moment was groundbreaking.

I was never really taken by him as a wrestler but he sure is a nice fellow, and few others show their love for wrestling like he did while performing.

How about when Big John Stud did it before Hogan?

Bad News Gertner 02-22-2013 01:07 AM

Wasn't on the biggest stage in probably the biggest event of all time.

FourFifty 02-22-2013 01:10 AM

A moment that is as dramatic as it is athletic is was the match between HBK and Shelton on Raw. That finish was awesome. Shelton did a huge springboard, and HBK got him with the superkick.

But if you want someone that more people remember, the birth of Austin 3:16.

Crazy Nick 02-22-2013 03:28 AM

One that comes to my mind is the Owen Hart tragedy, where he fell to his death, truly one of saddest moments in wrestling history.

NormanSmiley 02-22-2013 01:55 PM

Savage DDP was probably one of the top feuds wcw came up with in the late 90's. Savage could do it all in the ring and DDP has said Savage showing him how to build a fued and work a match helped his career tremendously.

now someone get me a link where i can buy an old school self hi-five t shirt

Heisenberg 02-22-2013 01:58 PM

Not sure it's the one you want, but this one sends the message home.

Anybody Thrilla 02-22-2013 03:03 PM

Yes, my opinion on professional wrestling is a direct result of brain damage at a young age. Why would you even make this thread if you didn't want responses as such?

NormanSmiley 02-22-2013 03:24 PM

this thread went way off topic from the get go. i am sure you have quite exquisite taste in the squared circle.

Heisenberg 02-22-2013 03:32 PM

I don't remember anything ring related to DDP, and I watched WCW quite a bit, just the Diamond Cutter.

I don't anything about his past feuds or anything, besides the Taker/DDP stalker feud.

He's a great person though, so yeah, opinions.

Corporate CockSnogger 02-23-2013 01:00 PM

I don't exactly dislike that moment, but I don't think Benoit should have ever been given one of the big belts. He was a good US champion, but he didn't have a strong enough character to be one of the big boys, and he was a bit boring.

Bad News Gertner 02-23-2013 01:09 PM

He was ALOT boring. Eddie wasn't much better.
