I'm using my busted controller where the L2 button and sometimes X button (and really, any button. it's kind of random sometimes.) go on the fritz and occasionally some of the runner get sent to the next base or all of the runners get sent to the next base or god knows what happens.

<font color=goldenrod>Are there any major improvements that make this worth getting? I only got MLB 12 on the cheap in, like, September. I'm still enjoying the game, so not sure I want to basically start over. Seems like a few franchise tweaks were made but nothing earth shattering.

Are there ever really in any of them? It's not like they have (or need to) completely overhauled something dramatically different. But there are some slight improvements like there are every year. I fell in love with Diamond Dynasty last year and they fixed a few things apparently but I haven't started it yet.

I'm a busy man. I got things to do.

If I can get the game for say, like 35 bucks I think I would bite. It will certainly drop quickly, as most video games do these days, I'll get in. And once my work contract ends in April I should have more time to play.

Honestly, i should have played Roxer online a lot more. I just had shit to do. This one though... gunna be fucking Roxer up all Summer to be honest.

<font color=goldenrod>Not so much that there need to be big improvements, as it's a quality game - but $60 seems to be a lot to drop on a game that isn't markedly different from the previous year. There have been a lot of calls to overhaul franchise since it hasn't changed much since the inception of the series. They promised huge changes a couple years ago but have yet to deliver, kinda thinking they're waiting for PS4 before revamping the mode.

I'll likely wait for the price to drop, too. By that point the OFSM full minor league rosters will be out as well, love having real prospects in the game.</font>

I haven't rented anything in almost a decade, so I'm not starting now. I'd rather spend money on owning something permanently, and I honestly don't rent because I usually don't get to games when I expect to.

I mean, I have a family video like 2 minutes away that always has everything same day release and not many people renting in the area so i can rent whatever, whenever, call and renew or whatever and just play til my boner pops with semen. ok?

There is. They play in two separate "leagues." The two leagues only cross over during spring training, a couple weeks of mid season interleague games, and the World Series. So, if your first game was between an American League team (Oakland) and a National League team (Cubs), it must have been a ST game.

If I have an open bullpen or bench spot, etc. I'll sign some vets to cheap 1 year deals and use ST to decide who I play the best as. It really only takes a game or two for me to decide. Then I set my 25 man and just advance to the regular season.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Lost the 2014 All Star Game in Minnesota. Only runs I was able to muster were back to back solo shots from Allen Craig and Neil Walker in the 2nd inning.

I kept it close and was losing 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th, and I had tabbed Bobby Parnell as the NL closer since I'm biased. Since there was no guarantee I'd tie the game, I brought him in for the 8th. Promptly gave up 3 runs and lost 6-2. lolMets</font> :(

Incredible game. Love some of the new little touches. Shame the AI GMs are still a bunch of dumb retards though. Not even 3 months into my franchise and Mike Trout was dealt to the Cardinals. The Angels DID get Oscar Tavares and Shelby Miller out of the deal, but still.</font>

Just had a game where Gerardo Parra was basically God reincarnated.

D'Backs @ Rangers, tied 1-1 in the top of the 9th, Parra comes up against Soria and CRUSHES a solo HR into the 2nd deck to go up 2/1

Then in the bottom of the 9th, Putz gets one out, allows Moreland to SMOKE a double, then Nellie Cruz flies out to Parra in left.

Moreland tries to advance on the fly and Parra GUNS him down at 3rd to win the game. :cool:

Absolute insanity.

<font color=goldenrod>Won the All Star Game 2-1, crazy pitcher's duel. Miggy hit a solo shot off of Bumgarner in the 4th, but I bounced back with solo jacks from A-Gon and Rollins off of Weaver in the 5th. Also won the home run derby as Lucas Duda.

Had 4 reps make it to the game: Wright, Harvey, Parnell, Duda. Harvey is even more ridiculous in this game than in real life. I'm using the Opening Day OFSM rosters (full minor leagues) and Harvey is just an absolute monster. Sub-1 WHIP at the All Star Break.</font>

I love Diamond Dynasty. You may or not want to give it a try. Not sure if it's your thing.

I got the Vita version a week ago when the price dropped. It's totally decent, but I still can't hit for shit. Still might get the PS3 version eventually.

<font color=goldenrod>Didn't see this before, but it just feels a lot more polished on the whole. Hitting can be frustrating at times, but once you have a few good games it feels hella rewarding.

Guess pitch has also been revamped in that it will only tell you if you guessed the right zone as soon as the pitch is thrown for a split second, rather than tipping you off throughout the wind-up. I find myself guessing for zones rather than pitch types. I've had my most success that way.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>I made a trade deadline move that is paying huge dividends for me. The Twins were way in last place and were looking to clear salary. So I sent away 3 young B potential guys: Daniel Murphy (who I just could never hit well as for some reason), Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and Jeurys Familia for Ryan Doumit (who was the Twins' lone All Star rep) and Josh Willingham. Found that I absolutely rake with both guys, and Willingham in particular has been amazing for me during the playoffs..

I gave Travis d'Arnaud a month-long trial before the deadline and just couldn't play well as him, so I went with a Doumit/Buck combo the rest of the season. Doumit has another year on his deal, so I might go with a d'Arnaud/Doumit platoon next year since Doumit sucks against lefties.

I rolled with a Valdespin/Turner 2B platoon after the Murphy trade, and Valdespin goes and hits 4 bombs during the NLCS. I swept away the Reds and the 108 win Dodgers in the NLDS and NLCS, respectively. But only one game was a blowout (the one started by Clayton Kershaw, oddly). The others were all really tightly contested and I got through it on the strength of my pitching.</font>

<font color=goldenrod>Well I fucked up my off-season real good. I tried to lock up World Series MVP Ike Davis long term, but in the process I forgot to offer arbitration to him. The deadline passes, and suddenly Ike is a free agent and the game tells me I can't sign him because I don't have enough money. Even though I have like $30 million in payroll space for 2014 available.

Looks like I'll just start over with a fantasy drafted franchise or something, since my cock up just killed the immersion dead for me.</font> :-\

Just trade your entire team for him like the bonehead Mets would probably do.
