Mad love for Chris Masters for being a real-life bad ass

From TMZ

Quote:

Former WWE superstar Chris “The Masterpiece” Masters saved his mother from burning to death by uprooting a tree with his bare hands and using it as a battering ram to enter her house.

Masters — real name Chris Mordetzky — tells us, he rushed to his mother’s L.A. home yesterday after his uncle called and said a neighbor had gone crazy and barricaded himself inside her house.

When Chris showed up, the neighbor was shouting through the front door that he would burn the place down if anyone tried to gain entry.

Chris says he tried talking sense into the guy, but he wasn’t having it — so Chris called the cops … but when they showed up, the neighbor set the house on fire.
Chris jumped into hero mode — tearing a tree out of the ground and tossing it through a window.

Chris reached through the window and removed his mom from the inferno … at which point police rushed in and arrested the neighbor on arson charges.

The man is currently still in custody. It’s unclear why he snapped.

lol Holy fuck.

#1-norm-fan 03-20-2013 04:41 PM

If he ever comes back to WWE, he needs to get William Regal's "Real Man's Man" music.

Skippord 03-20-2013 04:41 PM

so that much muscle is practical

Cool King 03-20-2013 04:45 PM

How big/thick was this tree?

The Naitch 03-20-2013 04:47 PM

I always liked Chris Masters. He seems like a really nice guy.

Don't ask questions that might ruin the mental image.

Let's just let the legend grow.

Naw, for real though, it was probably a Giant Redwood.

Ruien 03-20-2013 05:04 PM

That is nuts. One day I want to rip a tree out of the ground.

Heisenberg 03-20-2013 05:10 PM

Shit, with his stack and adrenaline rush of a family member in peril, that tree didn't stand a chance.

Cool King 03-20-2013 05:30 PM

After saving his mother, he took a picture and uploaded it to his Twitter account.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BFxmYZfCAAArSRH.jpg:large

And he uploaded a photo to Instagram of the injuries he got by pulling down the tree.

Cool King 03-20-2013 05:30 PM

Still no sign of the tree though.

The Naitch 03-20-2013 05:39 PM

LOL honestly though, I'm sure there was something else lying around that he could've used to bust through the window. Instead of the tree. Roids and survival instincts would've made anyone uproot a tree. Similar to when a child would do these crazy superhero feats just to save their parent (ie. mother drowning). You know that shit I'm talking bout

 yeah there wasn't like a rock or stone lying around? He probably hated that tree to begin with and used this as justification to get rid of it

The Naitch 03-20-2013 06:00 PM

 probably pictured that tree to be like someone from WWE management or something.

"Wish me well in my future endeavours? Fuck that, tree! I'm gonna save my mom!!"

But yeah, I bet somebody in WWE right now will take note of this and hire Chris Masters back. Just wait...

WWE.com will probably cover this story like they did with Shawn Daivari.

The Naitch 03-20-2013 07:30 PM

what did Shawn Daivari do?

blak23 03-20-2013 07:31 PM

tackled a guy on a train i think

XL 03-20-2013 07:39 PM

Wasn't Masters rumoured to be part of Aces & Eights? That could have been mildly interesting.

Nicky Fives 03-20-2013 08:19 PM

great story, but why the fuck did he have to uproot a tree to break a window?

The Naitch 03-20-2013 08:22 PM

to set the tone

Lock Jaw 03-20-2013 08:38 PM

To impress the firemen

Xero 03-20-2013 08:40 PM

His new gimmick should be a Lumberjack.

In all seriousness, the tree in question was probably about his own height and close to the house. If it hadn't come up I imagine he'd have gone to the next closest object or else tried to smash his way in.

PERHAPS SOME OTHER SORT OF WRESTLING MOVE

Masters, best known as the chiseled strongman who neutralized his opponents with the unbreakable Master Lock full nelson, had been training in the gym when he received a call that something strange was going on at his mother’s Los Angeles apartment.

When Masters arrived to investigate, he found his mother Diane, 57, was being apparently held hostage by her neighbor in the apartment she shares with Masters’ uncle, Leo Taliaferro. The neighbor reportedly threatened to set the apartment ablaze if Masters or anyone else made a move to break down the door. Once police arrived, according to Masters, a fire became visible inside the residence and that’s when the story became truly astonishing.

Sprung into action by the threat, Masters reportedly began to direct the officers and actively aided them in freeing his mother from the house. “I was like, ‘break those windows and get my mom out of there!’ ” Masters said. An initial attempt to snake a hose in through a broken window proved fruitless because it was blocked by a tree, so Masters used his strength to snap a 10-foot tree down to the ground and clear the path to her bedroom windows.

“I bear-hugged the whole tree down to the ground, which scratched my forearms up,” Masters said of his feat of strength. “Basically, I took the tree and tackled it down to where it was parallel to the ground. Then [after the police had smashed most of the windows] I broke the last piece of glass with my forearm, and then out of nowhere, my mom pops up. I’ve never loved my mom any more than that moment in my life.”

Masters called the relief of her sudden rescue “indescribable.”

“Just to see her, you just realize what that person means to you,” he said. “It’s hard to describe the feeling thinking you mom might die and then she popped out of the window like she did.”

The whole ordeal left “The Masterpiece” slightly shaken, but more grateful than anything else.

“It was the craziest day of my life,” Masters said. “I was raised just by her, so if she would have went out like that, I don’t know if I ever would have recovered. I was hell-bent on [getting her out].”

And in case the WWE Universe was wondering where Masters got his toughness from, there’s a solid chance he got it from his mother. “When I brought her out of the house, the first thing she was worried about was my baby pictures in the old photo album!” Masters laughed. “She’s a tough woman.”

Chris Masters got really good towards the end of his WWE stint. Really good. He would have made a perfectly respectable IC or US Champion.

really good might be a bit of a stretch....

Mr. Nerfect 03-23-2013 11:44 AM

Not in my opinion. The guy was having B+ matches with guys that don't normally turn out that sort of quality of work.

Fit Finlay?

Mr. Nerfect 03-27-2013 12:25 AM

Would love to see Finlay back in a WWE ring for a few more matches here and there. He could at least be used for some NXT greatness.

Vastardikai 03-27-2013 04:07 PM

I think Finlay vs. Cesaro would be an epic, physical encounter that maybe 5 people would give a shit about (me and Noid being two of them)

Mr. Nerfect 03-29-2013 06:07 PM

I really think Finlay could have gotten super over as a babyface around the time of WrestleMania XXIV when he first turned face. I think he should have been put over JBL at WrestleMania, and even gotten a chance to beat up Vince McMahon a little bit.

It kind of made no sense that he turned on Vince, though. :-\
