Honestly, this card doesn't intrigue me. Sonnen doesn't belong in there with Jones and it will be proven when JBJ smashes him. I don't see Bisping or Belcher as legitimate threats to challenge Silva or even Weidman for the title and Nelson seems relegated to HW midcarder probably due to beef with Dana.

I'll tune in because a talent like Jones doesn't come around often and it's a privilege to see him the same way it's a privilege to get to watch GSP or Silva and, aside from the main event, the fights should be good, but I'm not really excited for this card.

Just wqtched countdown show, did not believe Pat Healy had beat Condit so had to check his Wiki. Beat Hardy and Daley too, fought a lot of top names. Still think Miller is way too good for him though.

Laughable, the UFC should be ashamed for putting on such an embarrassing main event, but then again they usually do.

kind of mad they stopped it so fast. Jones was going to win, but Chael was defending and he's a tough guy. Let it go a little longer, it's the main event.

Actually, I take that back, two entirely different styles of take down. Chael usually did the power double to Silva, and Jones took Chael down from clinches mainly... Silva would probably murder Jones in a clinch.

Silva has no chance. Every time they've even mentioned Jones to Silva he changes the subject immediately.

All I'm saying is this. Chael had Jones in a decent muay thai clinch. I think if it would have been Silva, Silva could have done a lot more damage with his knees. I also don't think Jones could take Silva down the same way, because fighting in close with Sonnen, and fighting in close with Silva, are two very different things.

Mark Hunt is getting a shot at JDS after KO'ing Struve. I'm saying there are not alot of legit HW's in the UFC. Nelson has 6 wins in the octagon all by KO/TKO and has only lost decisions, all to former champs, and other than Cain, he is the only person to take JDS the distance.

Chael needs to go into commentary. If the UFC doesn't put him in the booth it would be a shame. I'm not talking about the version of Sonnen we see before fights, I'm talking about the version of Sonnen we saw on TUF.

Jones is a beast. It's amazing getting to watch guys like Jones, Silva and GSP. These are the greats we'll be talking about 20 years from now.

Personally, I think the refs should nip it in the bud as soon as guys start extending the fingers towards the face..

Watch the first Kevin Burns/Rumble Johnson fight.. Burns uses open handed left hand strikes and literally poked Rumble in the eye three times before they stopped it.. Should have had a point deducted for the second.. I know it will happen specially when guys are trying to push off or stuff a shot but I don't think the gloves should be changed, I thinks it's the officiating..

I don't see how that would be a huge step down at all. Those rankings are a stupid measure to go by and Dana has said he won't even follow them. The UFC match making has always put winners against winners and losers against losers. Nelson is closer to a title shot than Overeem, plus, I'm pretty sure Big Foot Silva was a huge step down for Overeem according to those rankings and look where that got him.

I think it would be a lot more competitive than Overeem who we know lacks a chin and would probably roll over and die if pressured by Cormier's wrestling.

Orrrr... Cormier could drop down to LHW. With Jones out for awhile, would Cormier/Machida for the #1 contender spot be a fair move?

I dunno. There was that fight on the prelims that got stopped b/c the guy got slammed and broke his thumb and the opponent was awarded the victor via doctor's stoppage.

I think it would have depended on the cause of the injury. If it was due to a hole in the canvas like Jones said, I think it would be a no contest, but if it was incurred as a result of the action and Jones wasn't able to continue, I think Sonnen would have gotten the W.

Sonnen would have gotten the win, not the title..

The "hole" in the canvas fractured the toe, then a freakish accident cause it to pop off..
