The Official Rock Took His Abdomen and Went Home Raw(4/8/13) Thread

I want to talk about how The Rock walking out is going to affect the show tonight.

rob11 04-08-2013 06:40 PM

Also I got MITB tickets. That should be a fun show no matter who's involved. I wonder if Ziggler will wait until that night to cash it in or cash it in, lose, then win it again, then cash it in the same night. So much potential fun is possible

Corporate CockSnogger 04-08-2013 06:42 PM

Sure, I'll go make one now.

VSG 04-08-2013 06:46 PM

This IS the Raw thread now.

whiteyford 04-08-2013 06:47 PM

One day I'll get my name in the title...one day.

rob11 04-08-2013 06:55 PM

Oh my first one, awesome! I wonder how they will adjust to The Rock walking out. With Punk leaving for a few months, who is going to challenge Cena? Lesnar? Henry? I would say Ziggler but they have made him look so weak against Cena.

road doggy dogg 04-08-2013 06:55 PM

Why don't you stop being a little bitch and make one
crossrine

rob11 04-08-2013 06:56 PM

aand the server got too busy.

rob11 04-08-2013 06:57 PM

You don't have to be mean about it. VSG said this is it so I edited the title.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 06:58 PM

Looking forward to RAW tonight.

rob11 04-08-2013 06:59 PM

Apparently he's injured? That makes no sense unless the reporting was crappy. That wouldn't be a no show, it would be a out with an injury.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 07:01 PM

Would an injury keep The Rock from showing up?

rob11 04-08-2013 07:03 PM

Without Punk Raw is going to need a top heel. They could use guys they always use (Kane who could turn on Bryan and challenge Cena, Henry who could just interrupt Cena and challenge him for his title, or Lesnar if he's still around) but I would like to see a top face on SD turn heel to challenge for the strap.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 07:06 PM

I would LOL if John Cena talked about his redemption and how he proved he was the best and now he's retiring as the WWE Champion. They then run a tournament to decide the new WWE Champion while Cena takes some time off.

Corndad 04-08-2013 07:06 PM

No idea where will go now. A lot of the focus has been on the Part Timers recently and Punk who is leaving.

Where Cena goes should be interesting. We all didn't see the Brock Lesnar thing coming last year so I'm holding judgement until after the show before going off on possible directions with Cena.

HHH coming back on a more full time basis? How will they fill the upper spots, and with who?

Side note, so wish they had the HOF tonight and not tomorrow night. I'm dyin to listen to some of these speeches from Saturday.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 07:08 PM

John Cena vs. Triple H would be very cool. Have they ever faced each other when they've both been faces?

Yeah, unless it was severe, he could just come out and wouldn't even have to take a bump. Heyman could just lay the seeds for WM30 himself.

If they have nobody else to face Cena I think Triple H making one last title run would be cool.

If you took your ball home or were possibly injured it might quadruple your chances.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 07:11 PM

Maybe they can do Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane vs. Primo vs. Hornswoggle in a battle between all AJ's ex-lovers in the WWE to decide who gets to face Cena frist?

rob11 04-08-2013 07:12 PM

I'm just saying Triple H making a run would be cool so you know who will let me back into that certain group that I was kicked out of for no reason.

I also have MITB tickets. Pumped for that.

And intrigued for this RAW, as I always am the day after WM.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 07:13 PM

I've always wanted to see a heel that slanders babyface wrestlers, and tries to get them into compromising situations or exposing their worst qualities. They would point out that Chris Jericho said that we would never see the Highlight Reel ever again, and yet we have -- making Jericho a liar. This heel could also try to get Cena to fight Hornswoggle, by arranging them as opponents or something in a must-win situation for Cena. It'd take some setting up to explain it, but basically the heel would get his kicks out of making Cena beat the shit out of a midget.

rob11 04-08-2013 07:29 PM

I would love for The Rock leaving to be a work and a heel turn. Since Cena is never going to turn and isn't meant to appeal to us, others are going to have to turn. I didn't like the whole passing the torch moment because Cena has had the torch for years and has won multiple main events and titles. I always consider passing the torch to be with a younger guy who is up and coming like Cena winning the title at WM 21, not 29. Ziggler would be a good guy to pass the torch to but he is made to look weak and jobs. Even worse were the two midcard champions Barrett and Cesaro. The IC and US champions are titles given to up and coming stars but those two were just used as fodder for main eventers. Cesaro the US champion doesn't even get a match at Wrestlemania? Barrett lost in the pre-show. Those titles used to mean a hell of a lot more than they do now. The IC title used to be treated with lots of respect. Even recently Zack Ryder winning the US title was the moment of his career. Now that title is on a guy not even making it onto the biggest PPV of the year that was 4 hours long's card.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 07:30 PM

Antonio Cesaro vs. Sin Cara for RAW tonight, pls.

rob11 04-08-2013 07:33 PM

They might as well retire the IC, US, and Tag belts. There doesn't seem to be much of a purpose for anything outside of the two top titles.

rob11 04-08-2013 07:35 PM

I don't think WM was as bad as people are saying. It was solid. Maybe it wasn't historic like 17 but still, good. There have been many that were worse.

rob11 04-08-2013 07:40 PM

The Rock has always been good at agreeing to put guys over. I really want to know what the deal is. I doubt they will be honest on Raw but it will eventually leak out.

rob11 04-08-2013 07:44 PM

On Twitter people seem to be saying The Rock is injured and it was his idea to feud with Lesnar. Also a major angle for Cena will be starting tonight.

Well that explains it. Question now, Why didn't WWE know of this before he left?

I don't understand why they need to set the stage for Lesnar/Rock a year in advance, especially if both are going to take long hiatuses between now and the next Mania anyways.

Corndad 04-08-2013 08:02 PM

OMG the shirt. Oh no.

Poit 04-08-2013 08:02 PM

Welcome, to the Road from Wrestlemania!

Poit 04-08-2013 08:03 PM

Well, look at the bright side. Cena's new shirt is making him wear the title as an actual title belt.

Emperor Smeat 04-08-2013 08:03 PM

Probably the worst Cena shirt he's had but  when its used with the actual title.

Although I can watch the stuff during the ads using he wwe app that they show a minute later anyway!

Next Big Thing 04-08-2013 08:06 PM

I'm looking forward to Cena's reign if only to see how that first feud is booked and whether or not WWE will revert back to the same old shit with him.

Droford 04-08-2013 08:06 PM

Somebody made a great point about Cena last night on Busted Open.

John Cena is the WWE's unofficial #1 heel. No need to heel turn him and cause him to get cheered as a heel by the people that boo him as a face.

Cena's been a heel for ages now. He's simply a heel to a different demographic than the usual campy heel in wrestling.

Those "Sexual Chocolate" chants were awesome at Mania last night. Kind of thought that they might push Henry into a Cena feud since he beat Ryback, but it would also make sense if the Henry/Ryback stuff wasn't done with.

The general consensus Ive heard is that the awful accoustics of Met Life Stadium are to blame.

Please be Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler.

road doggy dogg 04-08-2013 08:21 PM

I don't think that's entirely it though.

Wrestlemania typically has your "fairweather fans" (for lack of a better term), so naturally you have a stadium filled with lowest-common-denominator type. Tonight is more like a typical smarky NY crowd (a la ECW), and it just makes for a significantly more engaging show. Sure the open air stadium didn't help but I don't think being indoors would have made a significant difference either.

Mr. Nerfect 04-08-2013 08:22 PM
