What gimmick match are you craving a return for?
 

In my opinion, I'd say it's been WAYYYYY too long since we've had ourselves a good old fashioned 60 minute iron man match in the WWE. The last one we got was less than stellar in John Cena and Randy Orton, fast forward to WWE in 2013.

This roster is awesome.

And there's so many good rivalries that could benefit from having them go the distance.

John Cena vs. CM Punk, CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan, Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler, Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston, Kofi Kingston vs. Antonio Cesaro, Antonio Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins, etc. could all be instant classics if given that much time, just think of what they could do.

What matches do you wanna see this year?

It would have to include two top dogs. No way does anyone like Cesaro or Kofi or even Ziggler at this point get an hour long iron man match. Cena vs Punk would work but that rivalry has been done to death.

The easy answer is War Games. I think people have been clamoring for that for a while now.

I'd love to see a Hell in a Cell match where the ceiling isn't 50ft high. The old-school cell felt a lot more claustrophobic and "gritty". The modern one is just a standard cage match with a huge-ass ceiling.

Also, not really a "return", but I'd love to see a multiple-contender Iron Man match, where the same principle applies that whoever gains the most pinfalls/submissions wins. I guess the match would have to include more than one ref, but would be great to see CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena vs. Antonio Cesaro in a match like this.

Iron Man matches are soooo boring.

Loved that Scramble ppv they did where whoever got the last pin after 15 minutes was the champ. It was so exciting.

Elimination Chamber is the closest thing we'll ever see to War Games. Also anything with more than one ring is retarded.

The Scrambles would be a good way to go.

I'd also like to see War Games make a come back.

The scrambles were good, but I wish they'd confine them to US and IC matches.

World War III and War Games were both awesome.

Besides, even if you do have some weird hatred of more than one ring, it's not like the second ring is really necessary for the gimmick. A tag team Elimination Chamber match would basically be War Games with one ring.

with 2 rings. 1 ring for each behemoth.

I loved the Triple Decker Cage they used in the Arquette/JJ/DDP match. That'd be cool to see again.

I think it'd be fresh and unique to have some mid carders like Cesaro and Kingston go at it for 60 minutes, especially after their main event match. But i'd also love to see some main eventers have one too. After their cage match at Extreme Rules it'd be fun to see Triple H and Brock Lesnar settle their feud in a 60 minute iron man match.

War Games would be great.

Probably a little violent for the kids these days. Plus it's probably a bitch to set up the piping and control panel. Plus it's really only tailor made for Kane.

Me too, especially after the epic battle we saw them have on Monday Night Raw, i'd love if Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes fought in a boiler room brawl.

I always thought gimmick matches related to feuds, like if there was too much interference you'd have a cage match to negate it kinda thing.

Texas Bullrope Match

Mark Henry and Sheamus did an inconclusive tug of war on Monday. It is the only logical outcome to have them fight with a rope between them and have to drag their opponents to the four corners.

Still wanna see a Double Jeopardy match again, not sure if the original was actually any good though since it's been a while.

Lock Jaw finding logic in everything.

It's been a while since a Falls Count Anywhere match left the arena. I miss seeing Chavo Guerrero get thrown into the Rio Grande.

Also, I miss Title vs. Title that's non-unification (think Hogan/Warrior). It's been way too long since we've had a vacant title tournament.

An ECW style 3 way dance, where the first guy pinned simply gets eliminated from the match, and the bout continues with the two left. Bonus points if it's for a championship and the champion is the first one ousted. The ex champ has extra fuel to bitch about being screwed, and the new champ can brag about beating two guys in the same night.

Loved the 3/4 way dances.

Because they hated each other and Punk wanted to get his hands on Jericho. A dog collar match is violent, and they're collared together, which makes sense.

I was really upset that we were robbed of the lingerie contest that was supposed to happen a few weeks ago between Brodus Clay and Tensai.

Right but they can't bleed so that takes away some of the violence, a strap match would do the the exact same thing without the need for blood. Or why not something more suited like an I quit match, since both guys utilise submission finishers or a last man standing since they 'hate each other'.

Dog Collar matches seems highly dangerous, would never want to take place in one.

Elimination Chamber matches are dangerous but there's always one of those every year. If you get people that can work them safely I see no reason why a dog collar match couldn't become a staple of WWE.

Both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan have been in numerous Iron Man Matches and Dog Collar Matches throughout their ENTIRE careers (not just WWE.) When Cena and Orton had their iron man match they made it falls count anywhere to spice it up. Hell, Orton tried to blow up Cena with the pyro. So I'd assume WWE would want to add a gimmick that both Punk and Bryan would be familiar with and comfortable with, one that they know how to have a good match with and could do so for 60 minutes, a dog collar match.

I'd love to see them put any stip on an iron man match though. Hell In A Cell Iron Man Match sounds incredible. As does an iron man strap match, and an iron man ladder match, where you take the belt (or whatever) down and the ref puts it back up and you go at it for an hour, most times taking it down wins.

All you're suggesting is how to kill a gimmick match. These are supposed to brutal arduous matches and your idea is lets make them last an hour and have multiple pinfalls? What's next, an ironman last man standing match?

They have a pretty big roster, a World War 3 match would be welcomed by me.

Barb wire, baseball bat on a pole, inferno in a hell in a cell, iron man, ladder, last man standing first blood match is what I would like to see. Or ERAG but WWE is afraid to put on that kind of bloodbath.
