Can a little guy be a heel in a big man/small man feud?

Now I decided its time to take a step back from cartoons and start a serious wrestling discussion. My question for you today is over here. Now we all know some great feuds have been a small little guy as a face against a huge guy who plays an evil heel. This is pretty much a standard formula. BUT. Can it be reversed? Can you see the little guy being the heel and being the one "with the advantage" and the big guy being the face? Now this brings me to a cool big man/little man match I saw on YouTube. Here it is,<iframe height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MJLu9_VOnTk" frameBorder="0" width="560" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>In this match, D-Man is the face and Bull Dozer is the heel in the classic formula where D-Man is the little guy who is brave and goes against the evil big man, Bull Dozer. But in reality, if you watch KBW, you would see that D-Man is a bit of a "dick" while Bull Dozer is kind of a regular guy. So in a way. I think that it would be better if KBW booked D-Man as the heel and Bull Dozer as the face. But then the little guy/big guy dynamic would be ruined.Whats your thoughts???????????????????

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2013 01:32 PM

No chance I'm watching that video, but I don't think fat guys should be on trampolines.

Bad News Gertner 05-12-2013 01:46 PM

Lol I love how this goes from a serious rasslin discussion to a gem

#1-norm-fan 05-12-2013 02:19 PM

Last time I saw tits like that on a trampoline they were introduced by Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel.

Rammsteinmad 05-12-2013 02:34 PM

Thought this might have been a genuine discussion. Hope Curtis and all his family get cancer.

Bad News Gertner 05-12-2013 02:46 PM

This is what I view all indy promotion are

Rasslin' Fan 29 05-12-2013 02:50 PM

I dunno about the guys in your vid, but last year CM Punk played the great scrawny chicken shit heel while Ryback was way over as this beast of a babyface.

What Would Kevin Do? 05-12-2013 03:01 PM

Ignoring the bad attempt at promoting backyard trampoline bs, I actually like the topic.

I'd point out the Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show feud.

Also, the Jimmy Jacobs vs BJ Whitmer feud in ROH was seriously amazing, but they took it a a level bigger. Not only was Jimmy Jacobs technically the heel, and the smaller guy, but in the long term scope of the feud he was "right." He wasn't really the villain per se. He was the love struck kid being manipulated by a woman, and his best friend (Whitmer) got sick of it and turned on him.

Shisen Kopf 05-12-2013 03:06 PM

Dude Curtis, post an ERAG match, the greatest match in the history of artistic combat

Bad News Gertner 05-12-2013 03:18 PM

Who can forget the classic big man vs little man match between Clox and Clox's wife.

Jericho was doing it during his feud with Goldberg in WCW.

Wanna say Spike Dudley did something along those lines.

I think The Grim Sweeper and Fluffy would beat those two.

RIP OCW, they haven't updated in a long time. They are in central Florida so it's safe to say a sinkhole ate them all.

owenbrown 05-12-2013 08:34 PM

This was just as bad as one of those stupid ERAG matches

Shisen Kopf 05-12-2013 08:44 PM

Dude, never speak ill of the ERAG match. It was ground breaking.

I did. I thought that might be too obscure of a reference though.

Destor 05-13-2013 08:18 AM

I think the match is one of the hardest to work, especially if you have a big guy who doesnt think he should bump...ever... >_>

Good call, probably.

DAMN iNATOR 05-13-2013 04:32 PM

Doesn't really fit the exact question posed in this thread, but I fucking loved when Spike Dudley turned über-heel and became The Boss. :D

JimmyMess 05-13-2013 05:06 PM

I read the title thinking of a real response and then just.... well fuck you dildo face.

But also..... X-Pac/Kane

Savio 05-13-2013 05:54 PM

Jinder/Khali

Mr. Nerfect 05-17-2013 11:42 PM

Jinder was interesting for about a minute when he was slapping Khali and such.

Also when he was wearing suits and not wearing a turban.

It was a bit refreshing to have him as a non-stereotypical, ethnically cartoony heel and more as a disingenuous, spoiled rich boy with money/family connections to keep Khali's rickety knees in his pocket to play reluctant enforcer. Then they went overboard on the 180 because too many "rich kids" (ADR, Mahal, DiBiase) is just so damned confusing!

Mr. Nerfect 05-18-2013 12:23 AM

I didn't really like the explanation given as to why Jinder Mahal could control Khali so easily. I'd have liked it more if the WWE had maybe given them a back story where they trained together and Mahal had been the only guy to be able to take Khali down -- the only guy in India who could actually beat him -- his mentor's favourite student, that sort of thing. Giving Mahal a big Bollywood-style entrance instead of slow music could have allowed the guy to have come off as cocky and confident as opposed to being an "evil foreign heel," which I think is really losing its weight in today's day and age.

Shisen Kopf 10-16-2013 12:10 PM

Is Bulldozer still a heel or did he turn face?

Heyman 10-16-2013 01:02 PM

X-Pac vs. Kane was the perfect example of small man/big man - heel/face.

Razzamajazz 10-16-2013 06:57 PM

that cloth suitcase looks like it really hurts

Theo Dious 10-16-2013 09:52 PM

This seems to have occurred to nobody, but in any feud Andre ever had as a face, the small man was the heel.

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 09:59 PM

Yeah, that's just what I came in here to say, too. Somewhere around 2004-2005 SmackDown! Spike turned on his "BADASS" mode and made the Dudleys do everything he told them and dubbed himself "The Boss". Springsteen & Vince eat your hearts out!

WinterDecay 05-03-2014 12:08 PM

Wasnt Kevin Nash a face when he was in a program with The Filthy Animals in WCW.... and that worked so well the company ...

In answer to the question ... Yes he can be the heel ... but no one will give a sh*t.

Curd 05-04-2014 06:21 PM

Yes. I heard Natty Neidhard heeled it up while captaining her Special Olympics kids against Big Show's team. "C'mon and beat Big Slob for me!"
http://www.tpww.net/2014/05/wwe-star...earlier-today/

Yeah, Big Show did the Big Job to get over Total Divas. Or if that was a shoot event, then Big Show wasn't ready to coach or just got the worst Special Olympics kids on his team out of the bunch.

Cool King 05-04-2014 07:25 PM

The most recent example of the smaller guy being the Heel and the bigger guy being the Face that I can think of, is Daniel Bryan and Big Show back in 2012.

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-04-2014 07:27 PM

ACID DROP OUT OF NOWHERE!

LSD was a pretty good heel when he was the Cruiserweight champion of the world. He could have pulled it off if he was in a feud with the gimmick.

He just bullied The Dudley Boyz in the gimmick though.

Mooияakeя™ 05-05-2014 09:31 AM

If the small guy has cred, i.e. has emotional grip over bigger guy, is a class tech wrestler (so posses the actual in ring skill that would be believable to outwit power etc), or has the backing of some evil shits (gang backing).

Then yeah.

I would really love to see Babyface Roman Reigns vs. Heel Sami Zayn. Zayn is so good at playing the jerk, I bet he can get the fans behind Roman. And imagine how good Zayn will look getting that chinlock in on a man the size of Reigns.
