1 - Sheamus defeated Damian Sandow in a 'Dublin Street Fight'.

2 - Natalya defeated AJ Lee in a non-title match when Kaitlyn came down to the ring dressed as AJ.

*Alberto Del Rio had a fiesta to end the show. No other details are known at this time. It's possible shenanigans happened.

James Steele 06-25-2013 09:43 PM

Wait...could it be that TPWW poster "Ron The Dial" has signed a WWE contract?

Nope it means that Matt Striker's release was a work.

Bad News Gertner 06-25-2013 10:11 PM

He's already become the #1 heel in my books. He's a "workrate" comment away from becoming Andre the Giant circa 1987.

Does Slik regularly post one fake thing in his spoilers? Is that a gimmick I missed out on?

Alberto Del Rio is apparently having the longest fiesta in television history because wrestlinginc has had 'Alberto Del Rio's fiesta is in progress' as the latest spoiler for the last hour.

It never should have been

Lock Jaw 06-25-2013 11:09 PM

I agree. But it was. Now they lost once, so I guess they can lose to a team where 2/3 of the team are Usos.

Lock Jaw 06-25-2013 11:09 PM

I guess they have to make The Usos look "believable" somehow, though.

Lol Ryback Kane and Daniel Bryan couldn't beat The Shield. Cena, Sheamus and Ryback couldn't beat The Shield. Kane, Daniel Bryan and Undertaker couldn't beat The Shield.

Christian and The Usos beat The Shield.

They need to use the team that has been put over with all those ridiculous wins in order to put over The Usos for one month before they lose to The Shield and fall back into job city.

Also, The Shield won titles. As I said in another thread, winning a title in WWE almost means constant losses.

slik 06-25-2013 11:30 PM

You did kind of call that. I remember.

Now if I can just get you to see the light that Sheamus is the douchiest face since 'JBL is Poopy' Cena everything will be great.

"JBL is poopy" was probably Cryme Tyme's idea. Surely they were the douchiest faces ever. Stealing Lita's underwear and dildos and whatnot.

GD 06-26-2013 09:39 AM

I am glad that the WWE chose "Captain Charisma" Christian to go over the Shield in their first encounter. I am also glad that the Usos are getting a push considering that they are pretty decent in the ring and can do double-team maneuvers. That being said, I would be very upset if they were to dethrone Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as tag team champions.

GD 06-26-2013 09:42 AM

It's also sad to see Damien Sandow and Codswelle Rhodes slowly entering the Carlito / Chris Masters / MVP territory.

What's the difference between a Dublin Street Fight and a Belfast Brawl?

VSG 06-26-2013 12:16 PM

The amount of alcohol to be consumed pre-match.

Theo Dious 06-26-2013 12:20 PM

Hmm. I think it more likely that the difference lies in the TYPE of alcohol really, since the quantity in both matches are likely to be equally immeasurable.

getting pumped for MITB

Mr. Nerfect 06-26-2013 01:14 PM

Certainly an interesting Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Don't completely disagree with those who say that Christian should probably be in the World Title one, as should Sheamus, since he was just recently World Heavyweight Champion and could want to get it back. Including The Miz wouldn't have been completely unwise, either, since the WHT is the only belt he hasn't won. But I digress, the match should be fun and it'll be awesome to see someone break out.

Looking at that list, it really could be anyone. Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow have both been lacking direction, but MITB gives them that. Rhodes is certainly ready and MITB actually suits Sandow. Swagger could win, since he's been MITB winner and World Heavyweight Champion before, and the company may want to give him another random push to try and make him stick. Antonio Cesaro winning would give Zeb Colter someone to get behind and talk for in the World Title scene if they wish to move away from Swagger. Cesaro vs. babyface Ziggler would be pretty awesome. Wade Barrett winning would, again, give the guy some direction, which is all he's really been lacking. He's probably the most "main event ready" of the guys in the match that has been there for a while. Dean Ambrose is a good pick because he's Dean Ambrose and that's just Dean Ambrosey. He's currently the US Champion, but I remember them giving RVD the IC Title after he won MITB a few years back. Ambrose winning with assistance from The Shield would make total sense and give a sense of urgency to the briefcase, since The Shield attacks anybody at any time.

I could see Christian beating Ambrose for the US Championship and Ambrose then responding by cashing in on Dolph Ziggler soon after and becoming World Heavyweight Champion. Doesn't seem like a "main event" feud, but Ambrose has closed plenty of shows as a member of The Shield and the WHT is basically a secondary title anyway.

screech 06-26-2013 01:22 PM

Would go nuts if Barrett won.

Mr. Nerfect 06-26-2013 01:24 PM

Another thought is that they could have Ambrose cash in while US Champion and retire the US Championship, at least temporarily. You'd then have a WWE Champion, World Champion and Intercontinental Champion in the singles scheme of things. Ambrose could also brag about being the "last-ever United States Champion."

Ambrose cashing in on Ziggler after Ziggler just wins back the title from Alberto Del Rio would be pretty immense too. Ziggler has never successfully defended the World Title, and having Ziggler's big moment crashed by The Shield could lead to Ziggler going on a tear through them. Ziggler vs. Rollins would be an incredible televised match. Del Rio and Ziggler would both be owed rematches, so you have them compete in a Triple Threat Match where Ambrose pins Del Rio to cheekily retain the title. Ziggler is pissed off and attacks Del Rio after the match and unleashes an even darker side to his personality as he then goes through Rollins and Reigns en route to earning one more title shot against Ambrose.

The Shield attack during that match and cause a DQ. They get out a ladder and do something insane to put Ziggler out for a while. An authority figure "punishes" The Shield by putting them in a Triple Threat Match against each other. Ambrose says that their ties are too strong and The Shield won't implode so easily. Rollins and Reigns both want to be World Champion, however, so they do fight. If Ziggler wins the World Title back at SummerSlam, then Del Rio vs. Ambrose vs. Ziggler would take place at Night of Champions. Ambrose vs. Ziggler would take place at Over the Limit (where the DQ ending takes place). This would actually set up Ambrose vs. Ziggler pretty nicely for Hell in a Cell, which is also in October. If they choose to do just one Hell in a Cell match, however, they can do The Shield Triple Threat there. The PPV is in Miami, so it may also have The Rock there and be treated like a major PPV.

Mr. Nerfect 06-26-2013 01:25 PM

If Barrett won the briefcase, I'd actually really like it if he went on a clean streak of solid victories. Don't turn him face, exactly, but just let him build some World Title credibility. Barrett would be phenomenal at teasing cash-ins.

Mr. Nerfect 06-26-2013 01:27 PM

The more I think about it, the more I think this is Barrett's match to win. Would absolutely mark like a little bitch if Cesaro won, though. He's not the best choice to win it even if I do love him, though.

Mr. Nerfect 06-26-2013 01:29 PM

Got no clue who Rhondi Dhile is meant to be either. I'm actually really intrigued to see this. Since we already hate Bo Dallas, it would be hilarious if it were him. By hilarious, I mean horrible. By horrible I mean I'll give it time.

Mr. Nerfect 06-26-2013 01:30 PM

Sami Zayn would be interesting as this Rhondi Dhile fella. Sami is skinny and not imposing, like many of us on the internet, and he's pretty good on the mic. Could also be Kassius Ohno, since Gertner likes to point out he can pass off having a gut and he's got that "average guy" kind of look.

Lock Jaw 06-26-2013 01:40 PM

Dean Ambrose is probably still the best choice to win Money in the Bank. In making him a star, you also take Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns with him.

Vastardikai 06-27-2013 03:03 AM

MitB would be an interesting way to turn 2 or 3 of the guys. Most likely the paper bag guy, but you could easily do the same with a Swagger (Zeb and Cesaro beat him out for not living up to what a Real American should be like).

The CZW guy and the Chikara guy will both get their share of cheers.

Seriously though. WWE is in dire need of some midcard faces.

Mr. Nerfect 06-28-2013 02:01 AM

Would the World Heavyweight Title come between The Shield? It could be an intriguing fall storyline. Right now, Rollins & Reigns seem happy as Tag Team Champions even with Ambrose as a singles champion. But there's a difference between enjoying success as US Champion and being a "breakout star" and becoming World Heavyweight Champion. If Dean Ambrose did win Money in the Bank and cashed in successfully to become World Heavyweight Champion, would Rollins and Reigns both want a crack at the gold?

Fans have been getting behind Ambrose and his "devil may cry" attitude. He seems ready to face all-comers and is willing to stand and battle on his own (until it looks like he is about to lose and his buddies help out). Rollins is arguably the most "babyface" and "exciting" of the group. He and Ambrose also had some fantastic matches against each other in FCW. Reigns, while being the biggest, has this natural charisma (if not quite the mic skills or ring skills) of a babyface. If Ambrose pushed him around and Reigns shoved Ambrose to the mat, the place would explode.

Is it too early to call an end to The Shield? They have been a "must-watch" on WWE TV together recently, but since they've become champions it sort of feels like "what's next?" for the group. They need another feud and there aren't really too many heavy-hitters around that could give them a hard time. Maybe Sheamus & Orton take a run at the Tag Team Titles come SummerSlam, but do we really want to see that match fifty times?

I guess the group could evolve into a "Horsemen" style group, with Rollins & Reigns essentially there to protect Ambrose as World Heavyweight Champion, but logically, with all three men contributing in different ways to the success of the unit, Rollins and Reigns each wanting to step out and challenge Ambrose would make perfect sense.

If Ambrose won Money in the Bank, it would probably be a quick cash-in for him, since The Shield can attack the World Champion at any time. Let's say Ziggler beats Del Rio at SummerSlam. While Daniel Bryan will probably be challenging John Cena honorably for the title there, The Shield attacking Ziggler after his win and Ambrose becoming champion sets up a compelling storyline and gives the renegade Ziggler a reason to want to fight all three members of The Shield (and that would be good television). Ambrose vs. Ziggler vs. Del Rio would make the most sense for a World Title match at Night of Champions, where Ambrose could retain the title by getting a sneaky pin on Del Rio.

Over the Limit is in early October, and it'd make sense to have Ziggler challenge Ambrose one-on-one there. The Shield could all attack Ziggler, giving him the DQ win, and "injuring" Ziggler. Hell in a Cell is next in Miami, and with that PPV being in The Rock's hometown, it would make sense if he popped in, and that could give the PPV a pretty big feel. After running roughshod over everybody as a unit, maybe it would make sense for Triple H, Vince McMahon, Brad Maddox or whoever to announce that the World Title match at Hell in a Cell is going to be Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns. Ambrose is all "The Hounds of Justice will not turn on each other," and Rollins and Reigns are both like "Well, we do want to be champion." They beat the crap out of each other in a TV brawl as Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL lose their shit.

Would that be too soon? Ambrose would probably retain the title again, maybe even earning himself a "King of Triple Threats" nickname, but then Dolph Ziggler returns for another one-on-one match with Ambrose, and this time there is no Shield to bail out Ambrose. That would take us up to Survivor Series, where Ziggler beating Ambrose would make him a four-time World Heavyweight Champion, and actually lead to him getting out the gate this time. TLC is next, and a TLC Match between the two would be unique and interesting. Ziggler would retain there and start to build momentum in time for the Royal Rumble, where he moves onto a fresh opponent and things start to become clearer for WrestleMania.
