NBA 2013 Off-Season Thread
Should have been made after the Finals and I would sticky this but I am not a mod but oh well.

OWENBROWN MADE A STICKY THREAD!
|
Knicks apparently close to acquiring Andrea Bargnani.
Knicks have the market cornered on soft PF that don't play defense, rebound or stay healthy. |
Andrew Wiggins... That's all
|
Canada is taking over the NBA
|
Quote:
Rockets currently the favorites to get Dwight Howard with the team even using The Dream to help persuade Howard in signing with them. Hawks chances to get him dropped after Chris Paul signed a new deal with the Clippers while the Mavs are the other big team in the hunt. Quote:
|
lol Andrea Bargnani
|
Dunleavy will be the Bulls new Korver. Sweet! Guess that means Marco is gone.
|
That is such a Knicks move
|
What is? Replacing a player with a player who is pretty much the same person? They may as well sign Korver tbh.

I don't want Asik. I fear that he could lead to some wins. They have to trade Thaddeus Young. He's a solid player who constantly hustles. I would love Metta World Peace or Shawn Marion. Both expiring contracts, both old and aren't good. |
Suns get Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler and only give up Dudley. Nice move by PHX
|
Are the Bucks getting both 2nd round picks from the Clippers or its being split between the Suns and Clippers?
|
From what I read, theyre actually getting two second rounders, which seems like nothing for what they gave up.
Feels like a salary dump for the Bucks. |
Just the picks. They want to dump and make room to give Brandon Jennings a big offer, which Im kind of skeptical about. He's really not a great PG. Cautiously Approach the Deer
|
What else is involved in the trade? Why are the Clipps trading Bledsoe??
|
Oh Reddick and Dudley. Pretty good move for them. But they need a solid backup for Paul
|
Sacramento Kings offer Iggy a contract, then pull it off the table. Stay classy Sac.

That columnist sounds like an asshole.
|
Brad Stevens from Butler to coach The Celtics.
|
Surprising choice but explains why Ainge didn't care or wasn't in a hurry to hire any of the other available coaches that had NBA experience.
|
Dwight Howard wants to make his decision by tomorrow. Houston have done everything short of blowing the guy, but Dwight wants them to get another star to form another big 3.
|
J.R. "The 6th Man" Smith is gonna return to the Knicks.
I like it. |

Bobcats sign Al Jefferson 3 years 40.5 million.
Lol have fun |
D12 not signing with the Lakers would be pretty short sighed of him. We have major capsspace the next couple off seasons and can offer max deals. My bed is Carmello next summer.
|
But truthfully, if he goes I won't feel like it's all lost. Pau goes back to center, Jordanhhill our new pf, and we can get some wiggle room for bench players.
|
Andre Iguodala signing with the Warriors probably if the Warriors clear salary.
the Nuggets will be a giant disaster next year |
or they will be better, I do not know
|
So is this Dwight Howard decision gonna have the same deal like LeBron's decision? An ESPN special?
|
All I know is, if D12 doesnt re-sign, every team involved in that trade pretty much got nothing out of it.
Bynum never played a game Iggy signed with Golden State D12....probably wont be a Laker next year. I guess Orlando was the big winner? |

THIS JUST IN: Mavericks have been told that they are OUT of the Dwight Howard hunt, sources tell @ESPNSteinLine.
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) July 5, 2013

With the Warriors out as well, I think that leaves just the Hawks, Lakers, and Rockets for teams remaining. Can toss out the Hawks since CP3 resigned with the Clips and their plan was to use CP3 to lure Dwight to Atlanta. Edit: Apparently ESPN who earlier stated the Warriors were out are now saying they are still in but requires the Lakers to do a sign-and-trade deal. |
Sam Amick says Dwight's signing with the Rockets

lol Dwight howard
|
Not happy about him signing with the Rockets. Him leaving isnt an issue to me, but the Rockets dont have the players the Warriors had for a sign-and-trade.
I just hope the Lakers don't pick up Jeremy Lin. That dude is overpaid, and I really believe the Lakers have a shot at Melo next summer. |
Heard the Jazz got Biedrins, Rush, Jefferson and a 2014 1st and 2017 ist from Golden State for Kevin Murphy

lol, you have gotta be kidding me. That has to be a joke.
If i were the Lakers, i'd S&T his ass anyway. If he wants to stay because the money, he's staying for the wrong reasons from a basketball perspective. It's a game of chemistry, and if someone doesnt wanna be in a jersey, it usually shows on the court. |
Heard the Bucks are talking to OJ Mayo. Not really feeling that.
|
Better off keeping Ellis.
|
Quote:
|
OJ Mayo has all the traits you just named off regarding Ellis.
Suppose you have a point in terms of pay though. Get virtually the same player, just cheaper. |
Hey guys! Did you all hear that D12 is shitting on Los Angeles?
Did you see how Doc Rivers shat on Boston? Do you know the one thing I love more than the Los Angeles Lakers being shit? Them being shit while the Clippers are title contenders!!! Can't wait to see Good old Jack sitting by Billy Crystal at the Clippers games. |
If LeBron signs with LA in 2014, please stay in Miami.
|
and for the record I dont ever want to see LeBron in a Lakers jersey.
If Dwight leaves, the Lakers are still a strong team, dont get THAT wrong. Doc Rivers is a shit coach, and the Clippers will be no better with him on the sidelines. |

Dwight supposedly is pissed off at the ridicule of him being a flip flopper. Rockets haven't officially confirmed he's signed with them yet but Dwight updated his Twitter profile to show off a Rockets jersey. |

So...Lakers Nation has taken to the airwaves to display their butthurt over being shunned by D12.
While their collective Vaginas gape, Josh Smith leaves Atlanta for Detroit. Atlanta Fans cheer everywhere. There are rumors that Monte Ellis will be coming to Atlanta. |

How is Doc Rivers a shit coach?
|
look at his coaching record?
Wish I could post it from Wiki, but i'm too stupid to know how. Anyway, apart from the spike from 07-10 (when the big 3 were formed and before they got old) the guy has rarely put up a coaching record 10 games above .500 That's why he wanted out of Boston...the guy cant create something out of what he has like a Greg Popovich can. |
Quote:
As far as i'm concerned, the Lakers are in a better position now that they would be WITH him. Next year they'll make the playoffs, but barring a Cinderella run like the Celts made a few years ago, they wont be making the finals. After that, only ONE player under contract, some big free agents and restricted free agents, and a deep draft class. The Laker franchise doesnt stay down for long and I've seen a worse roster on the chart do just fine. |
Yeah, I'm not shedding any tears over Dwight leaving the Lakers. If anything, it puts us in the position to pick up some solid role players/bench players
|
When is Kevin Durant a FA? He may end up in LA

Lakers sign Chris Kaman
|
Caveman? Thats a solid signing...didnt think they'd sign anyone.
If we land Lamar for the min-MLE, that's a pretty nice couple moves to help the rotation. |
Lakers are using amnesty on MWP :(
|
Damn :-\
|
Lol at lakers fags trying to convince themselves it's no biggie Dwight left.
A superstar center walked for nothing. You might not like him, and he might not fit the team, but you went from Bynum, to Howard, to Kaman and this team is far worse. Kobe IMO Kay getting older and worse. Good luck nabbing any superstars. Durant will never leave the thunder which had a better front office and another top 10 player under 25 as well as Ibaka to go to la to play with Kobe's rotting corpse Lebron isn't leaving Miami. Lakers will be a middle of the road team this year, and will continue to get worse as Kobe fades away. |
He didn't wanna be in LA. There's no point in us fans wanting him to stay and crying about him leaving if he just doesn't want to be here
|
Fag
|
Your team got worse. Dont ignore it. Accept it. Nash is an aging albatross and your rotation is shit. Who cares if he wanted to be there. Hes a premier talent and he walked.
So Cleveland should have not cared when Lebron left? |
The difference between what happened with Lebron and Cleveland and this Dwight thing is that 80% of LA was expecting Dwight to jump ship, so the situations aren't comparable.
|

I take comfort that our team getting worse is still a playoff team.
Hanso is clearly trolling, because I believe I (and other Laker fans on the forum) have clearly stated that the squad next season won't be a contender barring an amazing run. And as for "nabbing" superstars, it's never been an issue...especially when the Lakers have the cap space to sign max players. And Kevin Durant isnt a free agent next season, when all the cap space is available, so what the fuck are you babbling about anyway? |
THERE IS NO SCENARIO IN WHICH THE LAKERS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR.
|
We need to change the title of the thread to 'Lets shit on the lakers all off season'
Let's Dwight Howard on the Lakers...cuz D12 shit all over that franchise. and can we give Kobe the bitch ass nigga award? He unfollows D12 on Twitter, then posts a picture on Instagram of him and Pau. What a fucking asshole. |
It's going to be close. The Lakers didn't exactly set the league ablaze with Howard. The West is always rough. Gonna be a dogfight for those last two spots.
I take great comfort in that my Jazz will be horseshit next season, and thus won't have to stress out about being in a playoff race. |

Raptors sign Psycho T to a two year contract.
Raptors LOVE over-paying mediocre players. |
Jordan Farmar
|
Tyler Hansborough, Amir Johnson, Kyle Lowry, Hedo Turkoglu, and the list goes on and on
|
Landry Jones.
Kyle Lowry is actually a great deal. Elite defensive PG that can score 15, hand out 6 dimes and 4 rebounds? he fills it up and at lik 6 million a year is great. He is the only good move Toronto has made in 10 years. |
The Raptors are like the Cleveland Browns of football. This is their Jeff Garcia signing.
|
Quote:
There's already talk in Toronto about getting a new starting pg. |
Lowry would be amazing in Indiana. His skills are complimentary and Toronto his horrible with nothing to build around.

Andrew Bynum to Cavs.

Let's talk NBA Off Season then. This Guy is Healthy, and he's Resting. http://a.abcnews.com/images/Sports/a..._130621_wg.jpg And This Guy is Healthy. The Press Conference is coming soon http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairba...kfast-klub.jpg OH Yeah, and Cleveland is signing this guy to a 2 year contract. Perfect acquisition for them to court Lebron... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...m_Mar-2012.jpg |
Why is it that I can see the Cavs booking a whole big ordeal around Lebron making it seem like the second coming of Christ or something when he returns?
