Is the Sentinel head to scale? Because then it would make for a possibly 9ft robot. While that's certainly nothing to scoff at, and I don't expect the 6-story behemoths, I would like something taller than what the head size suggests.

Lock Jaw 07-19-2013 05:07 PM

I have not heard anything about the scale.

Hanso Amore 07-19-2013 05:33 PM

Im confused. They show grey hair logan and Bishop, which is from the future. Then we see Modern Day Charles, Magneto and Collossus, and Past Havok and Beast. Are we looking at 3 time periods instead of 2 here?

Kalyx triaD 07-19-2013 05:38 PM

Past (First Class/Origins Wolverine era), Present (X-trilogy/The Wolverine era), Future (Sentinels, X-Force spin-off era(?))

Skippord 07-20-2013 12:06 AM

Just realized the black guy is Bishop and am now excited to see Bishop in a movie.

Rammsteinmad 07-20-2013 10:42 AM

Really pumped to see this movie! Mixing all the movies casts together should be really exciting! Plus, I had no idea Booker T was in this.

Right, that I get. But I thought the idea of the story was that in the Future the Sentinels are killing everyone but Wolverine is alive and old. Kitty Pryde (Bishop in Cartoon) goes back in time to current X Men dates to prevent an assassination that leads to that future. So how does Old times (First Class, Wolverine Origins) tie in?

loopydate 07-22-2013 02:18 PM

Maybe Trask is inspired by the events in Cuba to begin researching the possibilities of genetic-profiling robots and it takes him 40 years to bring them to fruition? Meanwhile, he's involved in early anti-mutant measures in the '60s and '70s, putting him at odds with Charles and Erik.

As usual, they are not directly adapting the book.

I like this post.

Im not posting definite Kaly, of course it will be a bit different. Just trying to spark some conversation based on my thoughts. I found 3 time periods to be a big surprise.

Im thinking that alot of the action wont take place in modern times. Will just sort of be in passing. Open on Modern day and let us see characters we know and love, and the beginning of the Anti Mutant Crusdade.

Then Flash to the Future. World is fucked. Then back to the 60s for the bulk of the film.

Kalyx triaD 07-22-2013 06:16 PM

Hugh has stated that movie is like two in one, and perhaps it doesn't go that far into the future anyway.

There's two character posters out featuring Charles and Magneto, it splices the two eras of their heads through an X. Looks pretty cool.

Sweet! Hopefully we'll finally get some real Sentinel action on the big screen. Looking forward to this movie so much!

Rammsteinmad 07-30-2013 04:39 PM

I know I say that about every comic film tbh, but this one interests me coz it at least has the potential to tie together all the X-movies.

Kalyx triaD 07-30-2013 05:00 PM

Not only that, but correct a few things. This should be very cool.

do you think he's bummed that he's a midget so he's taking it out on the mutants for getting cool deformities?

Kalyx triaD 07-31-2013 09:58 PM

I'm pretty sure some gag will be made, by Logan, about a midget making giant robots.

Was actually thinking the exact same thing.

Tom Guycott 08-01-2013 02:13 AM

I'm now picturing two of the movie sentinels with an exchange from the cartoon:

Sentinel 1: "WHAT IS THAT?"

:second sentinel bends over to get a closer look at one of Gambit's charged cards:

Sentinel 2: "IT APPEARS TO BE THE ACE OF SPADES."

:card explodes in its face:

Too bad the blew that Gambit load in the shitty Wolverine movie.

Thats cool... They should be bigger i guess, but that wouldnt be practical I suppose

Fignuts 08-01-2013 08:54 PM

That's actually closers to the size they were in their first comic appearance, so it works for me.

Kalyx triaD 08-01-2013 09:34 PM

Can you imagine standing next to that thing? Then it moving and chasing you around? Man.

JimmyMess 08-01-2013 10:18 PM

yeah I'd evacuate my bowels fairly quickly.

yea... my first exposure to xmen was the fox cartoon where the things were skyscrapers. its engraved in the brain

Arashi Kage 08-02-2013 02:54 AM

Michael Jai White would have made a better Bishop.

Really looking forward to this film though. :y:

I read somewhere that that was the angle they were going with. Might have been on IMDb.

Kalyx triaD 10-28-2013 06:47 AM

Trailer this week. eeeeeeeeeeeee

slik 10-29-2013 11:16 AM

Not very impressed with the first trailer.

Feels like a period piece romance oddly.

YOUR Hero 10-29-2013 11:32 AM

looks alright. looks like there will be some character depth. that's always big with me

Rammsteinmad 10-29-2013 11:36 AM

Coulda done with a bit more fancy, flashy action shots, but overall still seems cool. Although I'm wondering now if we'll see both teams from separate times fighting side by side or if it's more of a "send someone to the past" and that's it. Would be cool to have all the characters on screen fighting together at once.

Rammsteinmad 10-29-2013 11:38 AM

Also I'm gutted there's no sneaky Sentinel teases. Still excited for this film anyway.

Corporate CockSnogger 10-29-2013 11:56 AM

I really liked that trailer. Has a hugely "epic" feel to it on Avengers levels. I'm pretty excited.

JimmyMess 10-29-2013 12:46 PM

I loved how they did this.... completely unexpected, gives it that grandiose feel, much like Igi said.

alvarado52 10-29-2013 01:02 PM

I agree. This storyline linking the two versions of the franchise was a fantastic idea.

Singer said on Twitter this was done on purpose. They are still finalizing the CGI of the film so since its not ready they just pushed story/chyaracters and the next trailers down the way will be more flashy.

Kalyx triaD 10-29-2013 05:41 PM

The trailer was character driven because the 'fancy action shots' don't have their completed effects yet. Singer made sure to tell people before the trailer dropped to curb precisely that reaction.

Lock Jaw 10-29-2013 05:49 PM

I really "enjoyed" that trailer. Feels like an epic must see event, and it didn't even have any action shots.

Lock Jaw 10-29-2013 09:43 PM

Also, when Xavier was like "I was... different back then" and then it cut to hippy Xavier blowing dust off of Cerebro, for a moment I thought it was crack cocaine.

Juan 10-30-2013 12:40 AM

Looks awesome!

Arashi Kage 10-30-2013 01:01 AM

Really looking forward to this film!!! The potential for this film is huge! I hope that Singer pulled it off well.

Hard to believe that the first X-Men film will be 14 years old by time this is released. So Awesome that Jackman continues to get better in the role of Wolverine as time goes on. I hope that we get at least a couple more opportunities to see him as Wolverine. Can't imagine anyone else filling his shoes.

Asmo 10-30-2013 02:32 AM

Arashi has it right. Jackman is to Wolverine what RDJ is to Iron Man. Tough to visualise any one else in that rolel.

The trailer was superb. Gives you a glimpse of what to expect, lays the foundation of the movie, and shows you pretty much every X-Man / Mutant the movie will feature.

Hanso Amore 10-30-2013 08:40 AM

The fact that present/future scenes all appear to be in a temple of sorts makes me wonder if this doesn't tie into apocalypse at all.

Skippord 10-30-2013 05:37 PM

super excited about this after the trailer

also Bishop is my favorite mutant so that might be related

The shot of Patrick Stewart behind the circle thing reminded me of Locutus.

Kalyx triaD 12-20-2013 08:03 PM

Rogue's one scene has been edited out of the film, regulated to DVD extras fodder.

Fignuts 12-21-2013 03:51 AM

Not too broken up about that. Wouldn't care if Iceman didn't make it either.

JimmyMess 12-21-2013 01:52 PM

Why not just keep it in, instead of making a big deal about not putting it in? its probably like 1 minute long.

Kalyx triaD 12-21-2013 02:11 PM

Pace or whatever. Directors have their reasons. It would help to say this now rather than have people (like us) talk about scenes in the trailer that didn't make it in.

JimmyMess 12-21-2013 02:52 PM

fair enough

Honestly, they never should have mentioned Apocalypse. As great as this looks, I just want it to be over so they can start on the sequel.

So dumb that they announced it like that. Would have made an amazing post-credit scene, on the same level as Thanos in Avengers.

Disturbed316 03-25-2014 03:24 AM

Awesome stuff

Hanso Amore 03-26-2014 03:42 PM

Holy shit that looks good.

As shit as the Original Trilogy ended up as, using this to reboot it if done right could make this Avengers level. I liked first class, and itsa good start. If they reboot based off this film and building on first class, making this which looks great and then Apocalypse I think it could end up being some of the best Comic book films ever.
