Is anyone following this #August1Warning! shit in TNA?

Did not see thread for this.

Wonder if any of you still watch TNA.

Theres some hype vids for a guy on tomorrows Impact. Says he's not Chris Jericho or Batista (shocker) but "he's known to 99% of people" and "makes a living hurting ppl".

Rumoured to be Bob Holly or Adam Pierce. loltna. Prol King Mo.

Curd 07-31-2013 02:24 PM

Only on Internet forums. I might watch the dude's debut on youtube a few weeks after the fact.

Ultra Mantis 07-31-2013 02:31 PM

Who is Adam Pierce? Am I the 1%?

Mr Burns 07-31-2013 02:38 PM

It sounds like hogan in these videos.

Fignuts 07-31-2013 02:46 PM

Didn't Rampage sign with TNA? Could be him.

loopydate 07-31-2013 02:53 PM

He's been on TV for two months

loopydate 07-31-2013 02:55 PM

Although, it's TNA, so a hype video for somebody that's already on TV just to swerve us wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

Heisenberg 07-31-2013 02:58 PM

I'm 22% interested, only betting to myself that the guy is not bald, and the bald guy is some generic shadow to "throw" ppl off

Savio 07-31-2013 03:31 PM

It's Sting

taker707 07-31-2013 03:40 PM

Jarrett. He was at the recent TV tapings. First time he has been to one in months. But also heard rumors Bischoff and Hogan don't want him on TV.

Chavo Classic 07-31-2013 03:57 PM

These videos are just terrible, although all will be forgiven if it's John Morrison.

Savio 07-31-2013 04:01 PM

D' Lo

seapig4 07-31-2013 04:58 PM

Quite interested in who it could be, can't see it holding my interest for long though

Tom Guycott 07-31-2013 04:58 PM

I will guess again in this thread that I think it's Baldcore Holly, mainly because of his ears.

I was technically right about the main masked mouthpiece for Aces and Eights in all those months of videos being D'Lo because of his distinctively shaped head. (I say "technically" because he ended up not "being behind" them because of the Bully Ray swerve.) TNA has a habit of being fairly obvious with this stuff when they don't shoehorn in a swerve somewhere.

glanville6 07-31-2013 06:11 PM

It was me Austin. It was me all along.

It will be Vince McMahon.

Whats TNA anyway?

Impact! 07-31-2013 06:17 PM

Morrison, Holly, or Jarrett

whiteyford 07-31-2013 06:32 PM

Can't think of any big names that TNA could attract, they're in talks with Muta about cross promoting so I guess maybe him but odds are it'll be someone nobody gives a fuck about.

Anyone thinking a cleanly shaved Matt Striker? I second the possibility that it might be Muta, though

whiteyford 07-31-2013 06:36 PM

Brutus Beefcake hasn't popped up in a while.

Lux 07-31-2013 06:37 PM

I haven't bothered with it. just like I barely bother with the TNA program itself, unless boredom truly sets in.

whiteyford 07-31-2013 06:40 PM

I keep meaning to give TNA another go but every time I put it on I get a Hogan promo and give up.

Ultra Mantis 07-31-2013 06:42 PM

Can we ever really rule out that it's Sting?

whiteyford 07-31-2013 06:43 PM

Maybe its the Undertaker, mixing it up.

Ultra Mantis 07-31-2013 07:21 PM

Fits with the bald silhouette. Taker also has ears and isn't Batista. Shit I think you're right.

Cool King 07-31-2013 07:23 PM

It's The Blacksmith.

Emperor Smeat 07-31-2013 08:41 PM

Has Dixie Carter hyped up this announcement on Twitter?

Seems like she does that for every "big" surprise which mostly ends up as a huge disappointment or "lolTNA" moment in the end.

This made me laugh. Kudos.

Neither has Nasty Boy Knobbs

#1-norm-fan 07-31-2013 08:56 PM

Or Sags for that matter. The possibilities are endless.

#1-norm-fan 07-31-2013 08:57 PM

Actually those are the only possibilities now that I think about it. Brian Knobbs or Jerry Sags.

Skippord 07-31-2013 09:06 PM

Snitsky

Corporate CockSnogger 07-31-2013 09:23 PM

I wish TNA would actually become huge and be in direct competition with WWE cause I wanna see Jeff Jarrett vs Triple H in a battle of the glass ceilings. No idea who is want to win though, Jarrett could probably sway me with a "slapnuts" promo though.

taker707 07-31-2013 10:11 PM

It was just announced on the Bellator MMA event on Spike TV that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson would not be fighting Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match on pay-per-view at the end of the year as rumored. Instead, it will be Rampage in his home, the cage, fighting former friend and training partner, and the newest surprise addition to the Bellator MMA roster, Tito Ortiz.

Ortiz, who was retired, has signed a deal to fight for Bellator MMA, his first MMA home outside of the UFC in his career. While unconfirmed, it is possible Ortiz signed a joint deal with TNA iMPACT! Wrestling, as the MMA star has worked for the organization in the past with King Mo and Rampage Jackson. This is likely another “package deal” that will include Tito Ortiz in TNA as well.

Could Ortiz be the #August1Warning mystery-man? It sure looks that way but tune in to find out on Thursday’s edition of TNA iMPACT! Wrestling on Spike TV.

This made me

Does he give elaborate gifts to his opponents like sports/luxury cars, Rolex's, mansions, etc.?

We haven't seen the Disciple since WCW folded...

whiteyford 08-01-2013 04:34 AM

Never twigged he was Brutus till years later.

#BROKEN Hasney 08-01-2013 04:36 AM

Someone needs to hack TNA's Twitter and just post the Hogan sex tape like it was their big reveal.

whiteyford 08-01-2013 04:38 AM

It couldn't be anymore disappointing than the real reveal.

#BROKEN Hasney 08-01-2013 05:56 AM

Alleged spoiler:

SPOILER: show
It's Tito Ortiz

http://i.imgur.com/P99QDgh.jpg

Kinda out there if true.

whiteyford 08-01-2013 06:06 AM

It'll end up being Sakamoto or something. Although really want to see the Overgiver debut in the Impact Zone.

#BROKEN Hasney 08-01-2013 06:09 AM

OH MY GOD IS THAT.. IS THAT AKI MAN IN THE IMPACT ZONE?!

http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/...06-akiman2.jpg

whiteyford 08-01-2013 06:12 AM

We should book TNA, it'd be like Chikara on acid.

Ultra Mantis 08-01-2013 08:32 AM

Would The Overgiver go on to be 0-21 at Bound For Glory (all taped on the same night but shown on a yearly model)?

whiteyford 08-01-2013 08:38 AM

That would be too sensible, 1-20 just to swerve us.

Ultra Mantis 08-01-2013 08:44 AM

Yeah, he should probably beat AJ Styles to help AJ get over. At least half of those 21 matches could be against Michael Shawns too.

Ultra Mantis 08-01-2013 09:02 AM

"The Heartmend Grown Up" Dr. Michael Shawns

"I'm going to give you every ounce of energy, every drop of my blood, all that I have...

...and a pony!"

whiteyford 08-01-2013 10:39 AM

We just made TNA viable competition in this thread.

Curd 08-01-2013 11:14 AM

"August 1 Guy" is actually the tag team Fun Tonnage: Sentai and Clayton Brodo.

This would be the best.

Heisenberg 08-01-2013 07:21 PM

I think I might tune in tonight to watch live Impact!....I'm a damn sucker for hidden things and secret reveals

whiteyford 08-01-2013 07:24 PM

I don't want the crushing disappointment when it's not the Overgiver or AKI man.

whiteyford 08-01-2013 07:25 PM

Although part of me wants it to be Clox.

Heisenberg 08-01-2013 07:25 PM

I was reading those two possible entrants today @ work, laughed real loud and had no one to convey the joke to, because I was the only one there that had the privilege of playing as AKI man on N64

Lock Jaw 08-01-2013 10:23 PM

The Wresteling Machine

Ultra Mantis 08-02-2013 10:15 AM

If I had to bring in a Tito, I would have debuted Tito Santana in Sting make up. Maybe call him Tito Sanstinger. Then I'd debut him again two months later claiming he "did the math" as totally new character "The Mathemagician" Tito Sansteiner.

Curd 08-02-2013 11:26 AM

"Long Island Luxury" Matt Cardoma = Zack Ryder with pimp gimmick in TNA

Ultra Mantis 08-02-2013 11:45 AM

He could exclusively drink Malibu and then have an epic feud with Captain Matt Morgan (Who is actually Paul Birchill portraying the Matt Morgan character as a pirate).

Oh, yes yes yes!

Raven Reaper 08-02-2013 09:53 PM

Ughh, Tito Ortiz's the same guy who talked shit about fake wrestling and calling The Rock's legacy fiction... Pot meets Kettle.
