Anybody Thrilla 10-15-2013 12:48 PM

Antonio Cesaro is the best wrestler in the world today.

Do you agree or disagree?

(HINT: He is.)

Heisenberg 10-15-2013 12:55 PM

He's on his way to something great, his work rate is books a million. He just needs that storyline or gimmick change to catapult him into the annals of our hearts so we can buy tissue boxes and enjoy tears of joy as he work rates himself into our hearts and homesteads

Anybody Thrilla 10-15-2013 01:02 PM

I mark out for him when he's doing absolutely nothing of importance. The Real Americans are actually OVER now. Who saw that coming?

Savio 10-15-2013 01:04 PM

The racist tag team are tweeners.......AND ITS 2013!

Savio 10-15-2013 01:04 PM

He should be HHHs new face of the WWE, go against Bryan at Survivor Series.

Heisenberg 10-15-2013 01:05 PM

Their theme song is great, they need a legit feud and they have a great manager

Anybody Thrilla 10-15-2013 01:17 PM

I'm not sure who they could even feud with right now and make it count. The Rhodes Bros?

Big Vic 10-15-2013 01:18 PM

Primo and Epico

screech 10-15-2013 02:09 PM

Feel like if Cryme Tyme existed still, they'd be a cool feud for The Real Americans.

Colter could go on about how they're stealing from citizens and not "doing things the right way."

Or something like that.

Emperor Smeat 10-15-2013 02:17 PM

Agree at least in terms of in-ring stuff.

He's already at the point of a Bryan/Ziggler in the sense of being one of those guys you can count on to put on some amazing matches regardless of his opponent.

Anybody Thrilla 10-15-2013 02:22 PM

He made me mark out during a Great Khali match. Come on now.

Bad News Gertner 10-15-2013 02:27 PM

Close, but no. Still won't break through because he blows on the mic, which is too bad.

Anybody Thrilla 10-15-2013 02:32 PM

To clarify, I did mean in-ring. His mic skills are severely lacking, but I wouldn't prefer to watch anyone else in an actual match.

DaveBrawl 10-15-2013 03:21 PM

See I don't believe he's the best in ring since
I don't really care what he's doing at any given time, you should always
Notice the best no matter what he's doing.

Cesaro is good
And all but I don't think he's
Really the best just yet. He may be 2nd I
Am not really sure who I would label as #1 though.

Hanso Amore 10-15-2013 03:42 PM

I dont buy his mic skills hindering him. Look at Daniel Bryan. hes the most over face in the company and he is HORRIBLE on the mic.

Cesaro needs to turn face against Zeb and Swagger and find his way into the Authority Feud.

Something about how he came to America for a fair chance, the American Dream. ANd how HHH and the SHield are crushing it.

Blah Blah blah eventually he is doing the Giant Swing on HHH and my heart explodes.

Unfortunately there are already 3 legit feuds going at the minute (Bryan-Orton, HHH-Big Show, Punk-Heyman) so we're at full capacity.

Id put Daniel Bryan ahead

CSL 10-15-2013 05:54 PM

No. He's velly velly good tho.

It's definitely holding him back. If it weren't he'd be world champion.

Daniel Bryan isn't horrible. He's passible. That's all Cesaro needs to be.

Vastardikai 10-15-2013 06:45 PM

He needs to hit the UFO on Hornswaggle.

Fignuts 10-16-2013 01:44 AM

If you're talking in ring, then no, I'd put Bryan and Punk above him. Those three are far and away the best though.

Lock Jaw 10-16-2013 01:51 AM

I want to see Daniel Bryan and Cesaro have a European Uppercut battle

Lock Jaw 10-16-2013 01:54 AM

Like he had that one time in the Royal Rumble vs Regal

Lock Jaw 10-16-2013 01:55 AM

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4DGZ0SArut...niel+bryan.jpg

He wore these trunks and jacket pretty much only once

whiteyford 10-16-2013 06:06 AM

I don't find him or Bryan that bad on the mic, it's more the material but that's the gripe with most of the promos.

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 06:18 AM

Cesaro's voice is very monotone

Tommy Gunn 10-16-2013 07:24 AM

Been a big fan since his first US title reign, I love the fact he's getting over more now.

I would rather see him hit it on either Big Show or Stephanie (with HHH in the background acting like he's watching his wife get murdered).

I think they're trying to gin something up with Los Mutadores

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 11:26 AM

How's this for a prediction: Cesaro is going to giant swing both at the same time.

Most charisma he has shown

Lock Jaw 10-16-2013 12:34 PM

Bonus: Here is Cesaro and Brad Maddox fighting at a wedding:

I'm definitely not going to take anything away from Daniel Bryan in the ring, but I think that Cesaro is definitely better than Punk in the ring.

DaveBrawl 10-16-2013 02:35 PM

I don't think the subliminal message in my original post worked/was as clever as I thought it was when I conceived it.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2013 02:37 PM

Sin Cara, OK

DaveBrawl 10-16-2013 02:58 PM

I hate you.

DaveBrawl 10-16-2013 02:58 PM

That's not true, that's just the hurt of my failure talking. you.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2013 03:02 PM

You botched that original post as badly as Sin Cara would have botched anything ever.

DaveBrawl 10-16-2013 03:26 PM

That's just going too far.

Taking you off my Christmas card list.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2013 07:17 PM

Good thing I'm Jewish.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2013 07:17 PM

Just kidding, that wouldn't be a good thing.

I'll agree with that.punk's great, but Bryan and Cesaro are more entertaining in the ring.

Go ahead Narc, accuse me of trolling.

Juan 10-17-2013 12:02 PM

Punk's ring psychology is way above Cesaro's

Anybody Thrilla 10-17-2013 02:04 PM

I either don't agree, or we have differing thoughts on ring psychology. Maybe both.

Juan 10-17-2013 11:05 PM

I dunno, I've been watching Cesaro and Punk since their ROH days and I've never seen Cesaro tell a story in the ring like Punk can.

Anybody Thrilla 10-18-2013 02:54 AM

He often tells the story of a phenom who is really fucking good at what he does (in a win) or a beast who lets his pride get in the way (in a loss). Punk may have more avenues based on his lack of size and rather unimpressive look, but those aren't Cesaro's fault either. Cesaro will never be a sympathetic face, because he's built like a tank. He doesn't have to be a slimeball heel, because he's just so damn kayfabe talented. Punk definitely trumps him tenfold on the mic, though.

Anybody Thrilla 10-18-2013 02:58 AM

Moreover, Punk is often sloppy, especially in comparison to Cesaro. Punk's flying elbow looks absolutely terrible. When watching Cesaro matches, I often find myself cringing, thinking about how much his offense looks like it would actually hurt.

XL 10-18-2013 05:37 AM

What is it with Punk's elbow!? Why does it look so bad?

For a guy who is known for his in-ring ability it is the worst looking elbow drop probably ever. Magnus could give him a lesson in dropping an elbow.

Anybody Thrilla 10-18-2013 10:55 AM

I feel like I should say that I do enjoy CM Punk, but Cesaro is just something else.

Bad News Gertner 10-18-2013 11:47 AM

Would much rather watch Cesaro than Punk. Feel like I'm gonna see something new every time watching Cesaro.

According to Punk, on the Art of Wrestling podcast with Lanny "The Genius" Poffo, he now makes it look like trash on purpose.

Bad News Gertner 10-18-2013 04:32 PM

Of course he does.

Anybody Thrilla 10-19-2013 10:37 AM

What's the purpose of making a move look bad?

Bad News Gertner 10-19-2013 10:42 AM

BECAUSE HE CAN!

XL 10-19-2013 12:13 PM

Because people already bitched about it. You know how Punk likes to "wind people up".

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2013 03:06 AM

As an entertainer, I think that's stupid as fuck. If he CAN do a better one, he SHOULD do a better one.

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2013 03:09 AM

Especially considering he pays homage to Randy Savage every time, the way he raises his arms in the air. Pretty much a dick move.

Being a dick to wind people up is whatever, but if we're talking about in-ring (which I am right now), making a move look shitty on purpose will definitely lose you some points. #teamcesaro

Juan 10-20-2013 03:24 AM

Lose points with a bunch of internet nerds who don't even buy PPV's

Anybody Thrilla 10-20-2013 09:51 AM

I actually purchased Summerslam and Battleground. Don't tell anybody, though.

Lock Jaw 10-20-2013 02:16 PM

Dunno. Most of the time I don't have an issue with Punk's elbow. Only on occasion does it look bad. Most of the time it looks fine. Not great, but fine.

Johnny Vegas 10-20-2013 05:05 PM

I haven't been watchng RAW that much lately because of work, can someone pull up some video of his in-ring work that they would see as "proof". I saw his match against Daniel Bryan, i dont think it was a one-on-one match, but i remember hellacious European uppercuts he gave to Bryan. I was pretty impressed.

Anybody Thrilla 10-22-2013 01:49 PM

Cesaro and Kofi had some bangers.

Cesaro's whole US title run was full of great matches.

Malfeitor 10-22-2013 06:57 PM

I was so happy when Cesaro won the US title at SummerSlam. I thought that was going to be the beginning of his rise.

Mr. Nerfect 10-25-2013 09:05 PM

Cesaro is my favorite wrestler at the moment. Every time he does something I mark out. As Gertner says, it feels like you get something new every time he gets in there. We still haven't seen everything he can do, either. I'm waiting for the day where we see a Ricola Bomb or UFO in the WWE. Given that it is now confirmed that The Real Americans will be facing Los Matadores at Hell in a Cell, I hope to see a "hands-free" UFO in that match.

I really want to see Tony Cesaro work as a babyface, but his surgical style in the ring works so well as a heel. But then you have Daniel Bryan who can be quite similar and yet is working fine as a babyface. Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter turning on Cesaro as a platform to launch Cesaro onto bigger and better things would be something that I would get behind. Don't do it until you're actually ready to go somewhere with Cesaro though. Maybe the Los Matadores vs. Real Americans feud can be extended and feature the Tag Team Championship at some point?

I'll also throw this out there: I really, really want to see Antonio Cesaro vs. Brock Lesnar. Think about that match. Cesaro is strong as an ox, but would be giving up some size to Lesnar, almost to the point where he could be sympathetic for the first time. Lesnar is probably the best worker for his size ever. But could you imagine Cesaro hitting the Cesaro Swing on Lesnar? That would be fucking insane. Not just because of Lesnar's size, but because of his presence.

Mr. Nerfect 10-25-2013 09:09 PM

I'm not sure where they plan to go with the World Titles, but if John Cena ends up the World Heavyweight Champion sometime soon, I would not be opposed to Brock Lesnar becoming the WWE Champion and Cesaro being his challenger at WrestleMania. Daniel Bryan could win the WWE Title at Hell in a Cell or sometime thereafter and Paul Heyman could offer his services to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to get the WWE Title off Bryan. Curtis Axel and Ryback fall short, but Heyman has his third client in the wings -- "BROCK LESNAR!"

After a valiant effort and interference from Triple H, Lesnar becomes a four-time WWE Champion. This would set up Bryan vs. Triple H and Lesnar as WWE Champion. Cesaro could have a star-making moment in the Royal Rumble or something and challenge Lesnar for the title, for which Heyman calls him crazy. It wouldn't be the star title match, as you'd have John Cena probably carrying the World Title into WrestleMania XXX -- maybe for a match against The Undertaker if we're going forward with Bryan vs. Triple H.

Bad News Gertner 10-25-2013 11:25 PM

Lol Noid, you are a friggen gem

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-25-2013 11:30 PM

Cesaro probably has the most impressive natural physique I've seen, that is also actually functional. Super respect for him.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-25-2013 11:32 PM

YES NOID "Tony Cesaro" lmfao

Bad News Gertner 10-25-2013 11:34 PM

If Cesaro were better on the mic I would totally support a main event push. When he speaks he just loses me. He needs a bit more charisma in his voice. There's no "oomf" to him.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-25-2013 11:37 PM

He reminds me of like your common Euro guy you have on a sports team. He's not a "bad" talker, he's perfectly coherent and intelligent, but he doesn't have that "it" factor. He talks like "some dude" #tripleapost

More and more I'm finding him to grow into his role, though. He's probably never going to be an "amazing promo!" but, some of the stuff he does with Zeb and Swagger cracks me up. I think he's got charisma there somewhere, and it's coming out more and more. He stands out to me more than Jack Swagger does when they walk out.

As a heel, I think he should work on looking badass when he's got someone talking for him. The way he is with Zeb, while I find it entertaining, kind of makes it seem like he's along for a ride, if that makes sense. As soon as he starts wrestling he's like a fish in water, but he should stand out there like it's his ring and not even Swagger belongs in it.
