No easy feat here, the journey to the top has been a wild ride for all involved. The Champion will face many obstacles before and after their belt has been handed to them.

I voted for my boy, Poit. But I do appreciate Gertner here. My original diagnoses of him being a contrarian troll does seem to be a bit off base. Not that he doesn't troll or disagree just for the sake of disagreeing sometimes, but there is more to the chap than that. Lately he has been a rather thoughtful contributor. Not only a thoughtful contributor, but an upper teir thoughtful contributor. If he would stop trolling completely, he could take the internet by storm.

Since I've done a bit to put over Gertner, it is only fair that I state a few good things about my amigo Poit. You will never find a more generous, happy, caring friend than my man Poit. Usually when you first meet somebody from the internet there is a bit of an odd transition but we were friends pretty much right off the bat. In the wrestling forum, he is the voice of reason. It is very easy to get caught up in absolutely loving something or absolutely hating something but Poit genuinely does weigh both sides of an argument intently before stating an opinion on it (something many of us have problems with.) he filled in on the podcast a couple of times and he melded so well that we had to offer him a permanent seat. Love him.

Poit, I love you. But if Gertner wins, owenbrown may really quit forever and that would be good for business.

It hurt my heart to vote against Lock Jaw, but Iggy has been on a roll lately cleaning up the muck.

Since we're apparently campaigning, I'm going to elaborate on this:

I want to eliminate the inevitable complaining that happens when someone doesn't meet the requirements to sign up for Tipsters, by opening it up for anyone to participate.

I'm planning to create a nifty little web form through which people will submit their Tipsters picks. It'll then give you your picks in full forum markup, so you can still post your picks to the thread to preserve tradition. The picks will be put into a spreadsheet, which will allow me to mostly automate the scoring. Since that will greatly reduce the per-person overhead, I'll be able to relax, or potentially even eliminate the entry requirements.

I hope to have a beta of this ready to go for Survivor Series, so I can gather feedback and iterate on it a couple times before next year.

Hmmmmm. Not sure about my vote for Poit with this news of opening Tipsters up to a bunch of Flash Funks.

I'm glad voting for me over Lock Jaw is a much simpler choice for you.

The plan is to have a participant's level of eligibility determine how many PPVs they can miss. Right now, you meet three entry requirements, and you can participate and you're dropped upon missing three PPVs. In my idea for next year, that will still be true. But, if you meet one entry requirement, you'll be dropped after missing one PPV.

So, posters who would not otherwise be able to play will be able to, but they won't be given the same level of leniency, to dissuade a bunch of new people from signing up and never participating.

I will, of course, collect feedback before making any sweeping changes like this.
