Rate the last series you binge watched

With netflix, lovedilm, box sets and downloading changing the ways we watch tv series, what have you watched "all in one go" or binge watched recently.

Try not to spoil anything.

As the title suggests, rate it too. Although I anticipate mostly high ratings as the reason you stick with a series is because you're into it, and they do require commitment.

Impeccable 01-12-2014 12:35 PM

Just watched all of season one of Luther. A little behind the times.

Idris Elba is an amazing actor. Half way through the fourth episode my girlfriend got interested and started watching too, which is cool because she isn't into this kind of show.

Going to watch the next two series back to back to back now.

9/10

CSL 01-12-2014 12:42 PM

big fan of Luther, still haven't got around to watching season 3, have 1 and 2 on DVD and refuse to watch 3 until I buy the DVD, which for some reason I keep forgetting about/am yet to do

started re-watching The West Wing for like the 3rd time a month or so ago, fell off over Christmas tho, will pick it back up soon 13/10

Watched this season's 24/7 Road to the Winter Classic over the space of a day or two and have been going back and watching previous seasons episodes. Basically Hard Knocks on ice so obviously it's excellent 9/10

Watched all of The Wrong Mans in one night before Christmas. It was entertaining/fluffy/decent enough 7/10

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-12-2014 12:48 PM

Breaking Bad fifth and final seasons 9/10

whiteyford 01-12-2014 12:52 PM

Dexter season 8....I just don't know....

Good example of a series that you felt you HAD to watch because you committed so much of your life to previous and better seasons.

whiteyford 01-12-2014 12:56 PM

Heard a lot of bad about it but yeah, seven series watched already I kinda had too.

The Destroyer 01-12-2014 01:14 PM

Season 8 could have been so much better.

For me it was series 1 of The Bridge. Danish/Swedish show that's been re-done as The Tunnel in the UK and The Bridge in the US. Solid 8.5/10.

McLegend 01-12-2014 01:52 PM

I'm watching Breaking Bad right now. Halfway thru Season 2 right now. Seriously considering not watching the nfl playoffs today just so I can watch more of Breaking bad.

Corporate CockSnogger 01-12-2014 02:09 PM

I've binge watched a lot of shows over the past couple of years since I got on the whe torrenting thing. Right now I'm stupidly going through Doctor Who from the very beginning, as in from the 60's, so only about 34 seasons of it to watch. Probably gonna be a while before I move onto the next show I'd imagine.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-12-2014 02:35 PM

Star Trek Voyager again. Edit: forgot to rate it umm 7/10 not the best trek not even close.

Next up: Maron and How I met Your Mother (again)

Emperor Smeat 01-12-2014 03:42 PM

Archer - 4 out of 5

Crimson 01-12-2014 03:46 PM

Breaking Bad was the most recent one. 5/5.

Dexter was the prior one. 3/5

24 was the prior prior one. 4/5

whiteyford 01-12-2014 04:54 PM

Under The Dome 8/10

DaveBrawl 01-12-2014 05:33 PM

The Walking Dead. Watched the first 3 seasons across a couple weeks then the last half season across like 2 days. 4/5 - loses points for Karl.

Working on Alias now as my girlfriend kept telling me how good it is. It has 105 episodes and I think I'm on like 14 or 15. So far a 4/5.

dronepool 01-12-2014 05:39 PM

8.5/10

X-Files, the best episodes tend to be by Mr. Vince Gilligan. I skipped some episodes each season, but will go back to them. Saw the one that made me scared of aliens as a kid in like season 2 or 3.

Easily one of the best shows before shows started to be as good as this or movies.

loopydate 01-12-2014 09:40 PM

Chuck 8.25/10

Had a tendency to kind of spin its wheels sometimes when it had a long story arc playing out, but the characters were great, the action was a lot of fun, and there were some fantastic running gags/jokes/themes that I would have missed if I hadn't watched all 91 episodes in like two weeks.

I thought it started good, but got relatively terrible towards the end.

The Mask 01-13-2014 04:24 AM

Just plowed through house of cards, both the us and uk version. They're alright although political drama isn't typically my thing. 6 or 7/10

Also got through lilyhammer recently, seemed to change pace in season two but genuinely made me laugh a few times, probably a 7 again.

Brigstocke 01-16-2014 10:40 AM

Just plowed through all existing 'Breakout Kings'. Have really enjoyed that.. 'Loved the T-Bag from Prison Break appearance and theres a couple of things I never saw coming..The bald fella from The Wire plays his role well.

7.5-8/10

Hate putting my time into shows now after what happened to Alcatraz. :'(

whiteyford 01-16-2014 12:26 PM

Just got Alcatraz, in two minds if I should even bother.

Corporate CockSnogger 01-16-2014 12:39 PM

I gave up on that about 4 episodes in. It's not very good.

whiteyford 01-16-2014 12:49 PM

Aye but your opinion is a bit iffy at times.

Brigstocke 01-16-2014 01:00 PM

Alcatraz was brilliant.. It fucked me right off when they cancelled it...Granted it took a few episodes to get going but it was fantastic towards the back end of the series.

Miotch 01-16-2014 03:31 PM

Just about through the 6th season of The West Wing. It's fucking brilliant. One more and a few eps to go.

8/10

It's taken me over a year to get this far due to other obligations for television, but I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

Skippord 01-16-2014 03:36 PM

Lost

100/10

DaveBrawl 01-16-2014 04:21 PM

Never did see the first season of Lost, but watched the rest of it. Was very confused for a while.

I saw season one onwards.

Was very confused for a while.

whiteyford 01-16-2014 05:29 PM

Banshee Season 1 8/10

Corporate CockSnogger 01-16-2014 05:40 PM

Feel like everyone should have seen all of Lost by now. Whiteyford, check out Orphan Black if you haven't already seen it. Not sure why but I get the feeling you'd like it. Only 10 eps out so far so not a lot to catch up on.

DaveBrawl 01-16-2014 05:42 PM

I never went back to watch it because they covered most of it via flashback and I already watched the ending so felt no need to see the rest.

XL 01-16-2014 06:31 PM

Been watching/re-watching NuWho. Just on to Season 6 now. Hard to rate it overall. Does get quite repetitive watching it like this, with the Daleks coming back every few days rather than once a year or so.

Added it to my ever growing list.

JimmyMess 01-17-2014 02:42 AM

Its not a series... well I guess it is... but I've been watching every episode of Family Guy, in order, when I've had relax time or whatnot. But yeah that's me

Breaking Bad 10/10

Bad News Gertner 01-17-2014 07:49 AM

I tend to binge watch the same shows over and over

Band of Brothers 10/10 (numerous times)
The Sopranos 11/10 (About 5 times now)
Breaking Bad 9/10
Game of Thrones 6/10
The Walking Dead 7.5/10

Impeccable 01-17-2014 09:04 AM

Never watched Band of Brothers - keep meaning to.

I'll binge watch it soon!

JimmyMess 01-17-2014 09:36 AM

Band of Brothers is amazing. Its a 10/10 I've binge watched it a few times, just not for about 6 months.

whiteyford 01-17-2014 10:06 AM

Yeah definitely worth a watch, preferred it to The Pacific but that might be because its really similar to Iwo Jima/Flags of Our Father which I'd just watched.

Miotch 01-17-2014 03:02 PM

If you are looking for something to binge watch, I HIGHLY recommend Deadwood.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-17-2014 03:16 PM

Deadwood is tasty, but it finished without a proper ending, which is annoying.

Ian McShane is bad ass.

whiteyford 01-17-2014 03:28 PM

Deadwood was amazing, Ian McShane was the tits.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-17-2014 03:48 PM

Weeds, Seasons 1-3 are pretty great. I've only seen Season 4 after them and it was kinda naff, leaving me not wanting to watch anymore. The good thing is that the way Season 3 ends means you are not going to miss anything if you choose not to go any further with the series.

whiteyford 01-17-2014 03:52 PM

Just got hold of season 1.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-17-2014 04:32 PM

Watch that shit, STAT, son!

It really did have a shit end to the run.

I would actually donate to a kickstarter for a film to wrap it all up properly if there were one.

Impeccable 01-18-2014 12:37 PM

Did deadwood ever really hit the uk? Did I miss it?

Just read up on it. Sounds good

CSL 01-18-2014 12:39 PM

Sky One I think.

Anyways,

I got True Blood seasons 1-5 boxset a couple of weeks ago for my birthday and I am currently going through the first season. I'd forgotten how much sex there is, and how hot Lizzy Caplan is in this season.

whiteyford 01-19-2014 03:23 PM

It's cheesy as fuck though.

whiteyford 01-25-2014 07:38 AM

Freaks & Geeks 9/10

Asmo 01-26-2014 08:40 AM

Nitro/Raw in a few weeks.

At Season 3 of HIMYM right now.

XL 02-13-2014 02:54 PM

Finished watching Breaking Bad last night. Massive hole in my life...like the one in Gus' face.

loopydate 02-13-2014 06:23 PM

New Girl was a pleasant surprise. Was expecting to hate it, but it's genuinely funny. 8/10

XL 02-14-2014 02:25 AM

 New Girl

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-14-2014 07:47 AM

I am concerned that I will never see Deborah Ann Woll's boobs, in True Blood. I feel this would be a travesty if it should not happen. I am currently into the fourth season and I feel there has been a bit of a drop in quality, which only the sight of Jessica's boobs shall restore.

DaveBrawl 02-14-2014 09:59 AM

Finally finished season 3 of Alias yesterday during my snow day. I enjoy the show, but I feel like it is taking forever to get through it.

I think I've finished 66 episodes with something like 39 more to go.

whiteyford 02-14-2014 04:57 PM

It's always sunny in Philadelphia season 1 8/10

Halfway through I realised I'd seen it before and that's why it seemed familiar, no idea why I've only seen season 1 though.

CSL 02-14-2014 05:12 PM

season 2 through like 6 are amazing

Jura 02-14-2014 05:52 PM

Farscape 750/1000

Razzamajazz 02-15-2014 05:15 PM

breaking bad. for some reason the ending seemed a bit dull the first time around, but after seeing it again without the long break mid season, and paying attention to details, it was great

Impeccable 02-16-2014 12:03 PM

Binge watched the second and third seasons of Luther today. Immense. Got a bit of a thing for Alice

9.5/10

Sons,it hasn't had a bad season so far. Walking Dead season 2 was horrible.

Walking Dead in general is quite bad, yet I keep watching it. Strange phenomena.

Bobholly138 02-18-2014 03:18 AM

The Young Ones-8/10 Haven't seen this 2 series show in over 10 years.
Bottom-8/10 Another I haven't seen in years.
Grounded for Life-7.5/10 One of the few modern sitcoms I enjoy. Got the boxed set of all 5 seasons really cheap. Watched it all in 4 days.
Ban the Filth-9/10 No idea if this get another series, but series 1 was great.
Ms Brown's Boys-2/10 Typical lame sitcom. LCD entertainment.
Starting Brass Eye soon.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-21-2014 03:04 PM

I finally finished seasons 1-5 of True Blood, last night. I've enjoyed it thus far, even though I feel that it has somewhat lost its way in the fifth series, and the faerie thing is just silly.

Bobholly138 02-22-2014 06:54 AM

I think I am going to binge watch Justified once it ends after the next season. I have seen a few episodes here and there. Liked what I saw. But not enough to bother watching it each week. But very few TV shows are good enough to get me to watch them each week.

Red Dwarf-Got the first 8 seasons and watched 1 and 2 so far. I thought I had seen all these but found 1 or 2 I haven't still great show. Much better than any Star Trek show that isn't the original. Or that shit Firefly show.

whiteyford 03-01-2014 09:45 AM

Amazingly over rated. Watched it 2 times and don't see why it get so much love. TV wise Wheldon has had one great show and the rest have been twatwaffles.

CSL 03-01-2014 04:08 PM

I don't care about Firefly/have never watched it, I just enjoyed "twatwaffles"

whiteyford 03-01-2014 05:01 PM

There's controversial and then there's ridiculous, twatwaffles is in the middle.

Cool King 03-01-2014 06:58 PM

I've never watched Firefly in my life, though I do have a few friends who love the show and mention how amazing it is from time to time. They also tell me to watch it as it's "amazing" and "fantastic", though I'm not entirely sure what exactly it's supposed to be about, even though my friends have tried to explain it to me before.

It doesn't sound like something I'd like anyway and I don't really have any interest in watching it or interest in anything "Sci-Fi-ish". Not really a big Sci-Fi fan really. The closest I come to watching anything "Sci-Fi-ish" are Futurama and Red Dwarf.

whiteyford 03-01-2014 07:00 PM

don't trust the b in apartment 23 - 5/10 (i watched it for james van der beek and both of the attractive lead ladies. i see why it got cancelled, but it was ok.)

louie - 9/10 (so fucking good. can relate to so much of what he touches on.)
