Odds on how long between the time he takes the mic, and the time he begins to actually talk? I say 15 minutes of waiting for the fans to quiet down, and "teasing" that he is about to talk.

Heisenberg 02-21-2014 05:57 PM

Hogan and Warrior in the same fucking building. That'd be a backstage I would like to see

Rammsteinmad 02-21-2014 06:24 PM

Yay! This is fantastic news for Cesaro, Wade Barrett, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Big E, Darren Young, Jack Swagger, and all the other guys that bust their asses all year long with hopes of at least being included on the Wrestlemania card. If they're lucky they'll be in a warm-up show Battle Royal.

Lock Jaw 02-21-2014 06:26 PM

For real, though, glad this is happening. You can't have Wrestlemania XXX without Hulk Hogan

As host, he probably won't be taking much time away from matches and it's Hulk Hogan, so he def adds to the spectacle. Not saying it to be cruel to the performers or anything, who do the business all year round, but Hulk Hogan addressing the crowd for 10 minutes will draw more than a Darren Young match.

That can only be a good thing for every other match on the card. My big doubt is whether someone like Batista is a big enough star to add any interest to the event. Hulk Hogan more than justifies being there though. Might be nobody still performing at Wrestlemania's if it wasn't for his influence in the beginnings.

Have Barrett, Darren Young, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and all the other guys really done anything of note the past few months that would justify a spot on the card?

Big E, Cody and Cesaro? Yes, they should get a chance to be on the card in some capacity. But those other guys haven't done shit in months if not all year.

Not to mention, it's not like Hogan is coming in and taking up a main event spot. Also, it's Hulk FUCKING Hogan at WrestleMania 30.

A 4-hour ironman match, maybe for ownership of the universe between them sounds like something I could definitely get behind. Put Kane in Trips' corner, 'Taker in Hogan's. Then just get the popcorn and 7-Eleven Double Gulps.

He's not wrestling and he's the biggest star in history. I'm sorry but Hogan is more important than all of them combined. I doubt people will not buy the ppv because they didn't get that Dolph Ziggler match.

Agreed and Agreed.

I also predict WWE will book Hogan more effectively for their product in twenty minutes of air-time then TNA did their entire run with him.

Bank on it.

Shisen I hope this means HOGAN'S BEACH gets the WWE NETWORK

I get the feeling I am one of the few people who grew up in the 80s and hated Hogan back then. Maybe it is because I grew up in NWA and Mid South country. But even as a kid I found him boring. He is a major reason why I wasn't that much into WWF.

Come time for the Main Event it's HHH that's revealed as the replacement (cut to a dejected Curtis Axel). HHH wins the title.

Subsequently, Batista falls victim to the same fate as Bryan, this time at Mania, leaving HHH with no opponent. He comes out at the end of the show basically to gloat/make NM's head implode. Then the Ultimate Warrior's music hits. He races to the ring. He beats HHH in 1:40 in reference to WM12.

Following that, Hogan comes out and with HHH's backing goes into a match with Warrior as he did against Yokozuna at Mania 9. Hogan defeats Warrior to get back his win from Mania 6 and thus ends the show and the metaplot of WrestleMania.

The planets are aligning.

Rock is a bigger star but not a bigger wrestling star. Hogan became as famous as he is because of wrestling. Rock's popularity for the average person has to so with his movies.

Vastardikai 02-22-2014 02:23 PM

He's known for movies now. But prior, he was the wrestler who went to Hollywood. He was as electrifying in movies as was in the ring.

What numbers! People throw Austin's numbers when Hogan was in the infancy of ppv, you didn't have Wal Mart and stores selling shit, you pretty much had to go to an event or the magazine to buy stuff, plus ppv's, tickets and merch were a lot cheaper back then, especially the tickets.

NormanSmiley 02-22-2014 03:50 PM

Norman is 35, and Norman has a firm belief that if you love Randy Savage like he does you must hate Hulk Hogan. wrestlemania 5 is where it all began, then mania 7 happened , then 8 when Hogan was in a worthless match and just HADDD to go on last. then 9, then it was nice for a few years til he was back .

I understand that some people don't like the Hulkster, but by bringing Hogan back for Wrestlemania, this instantly brings in additional views and interest from my demographic (grew up with 80's - early 90's WWF, hasn't watched WWE seriously since '03, hasn't casually followed for the last 5 or so years, only still on TPWW for casual and hockey).

Now I'm hearing news about Ultimate Warrior and the Hall of Fame?

And if they really want to keep you as a consistent revenue stream, they will make you interested in their current crop of wrestler. I have a feeling that this won't happen though. :(

Heisenberg 02-22-2014 04:43 PM

I tested that theory too Arashi, people that have sworn off wrestling are really excited for those names.

Funny thing is they are not going to take up too much precious time, but if they did it would be for the better. It's fucking Wrestlemania!!! A bigger than life spectacle. Sure, you don't have to agree with the whole damn card, but at least try and enjoy what they have available.

Stone Cold and The Rock would be awesome to have in a segment too.

With it being Wrestlemania 30, if there was ever a justifiable excuse to bury the current roster (ok, that's a little extreme, lol) in favor of a nostalgic and historic celebration, this is it.

I'm not gonna get back into following the current product, but will enjoy the opportunity to see my childhood heroes one more time on the biggest stage.
