What has to happen tonight to make it feel special for you?

I know a lot of people are underwhelmed by this year's card. What do you want to see happen to make this a PPV worthy of the Wrestlemania legacy? Would Bryan winning the title be enough?

whiteyford 04-06-2014 11:45 AM

The Headbangers reuniting and winning all the titles.

Shisen Kopf 04-06-2014 11:50 AM

I think you know who I'm gonna say needs to show up.

Shadrick 04-06-2014 11:52 AM

For it to be special, I need a Rock/Austin moment. A Piper/Hogan moment. And I need Hunter to do the job to DB, either in their match, or in the main event as a fatal 4 way.

Anybody Thrilla 04-06-2014 11:55 AM

I think the crowd for Daniel Bryan will make the show very memorable.

I'd really love to see Punk cost Bryan the title match, though. It'd be one of the biggest swerves of all time.

Honestly, while the card looks sort of bland on paper, I have a feeling that this will be a pretty good show. Wrestlemania 25 looked amazing on paper, and it turned out to be a bunch of doo doo, featuring the greatest wrestling match of all time with HBK and Taker (yes, THAT one was the best). I'm hoping the inverse is true here. Shit on paper, great in action.

This would save an otherwise bleak looking card for me.

weather vane 04-06-2014 12:08 PM

CM Punk return.
Sting debut or tease.
DB wins the title.
Some sort of Legend moment (Hogan/Warrior/Etc)

Seth82 04-06-2014 12:14 PM

either CM Punk returns or Sting debuts.

I'd also like to see Daniel Bryan win the title.

theexample 04-06-2014 12:19 PM

I can see the face winner of the Andre battle royal getting a beat down and Hogan and Warrior running in to clear house.

Asmo 04-06-2014 12:34 PM

I guess the lack lustre feeling is because the card seems utterly predictable. It needs "moments" to pop out.

Swiss Ultimate 04-06-2014 12:36 PM

Bryan winning the title is going to be a tremendous moment...as long as it happens.

He really really deserves it, the fans want him to be Champ and he's great in the ring and fun on the mic.

Ziggles 04-06-2014 12:38 PM

Cesaro body slams The Big Show 5-10 times in a row (or a powerbomb would work) and then Cesaro swings him out of the ring to win the Battle Royal... damn.. nvm he's not even in the battle royal :(

Daniel Bryan wins the Championship

Bray Wyatt turns John Cena into a monster

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 12:39 PM

The crowd will be hot for it and then reality will set in quickly that a homeless midget is WWE champion and it will be depressing like Benoit's reign 10 years ago. I really wish WWE could find a realistic way out of it but they won't.

PROVE ME WRONG, WWE.

Razzamajazz 04-06-2014 12:40 PM

triple h winning both matches and the hilarious amount of butthurt that follows

Agree. Hope it happens. And if it were to happen, then this should be equivalent to "The Boyhood Dream Coming True" for HBK. A moment that defines his career, and becomes the legend that will be immortalised in each and every WrestleMania and Daniel Bryan tribute video ever.

... THIS

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 12:43 PM

lol. Can you imagine if the main event of WrestleMania were 3 heels in a triple threat for the title? It would be ridiculous.

Corporate CockSnogger 04-06-2014 12:45 PM

Since I'm not gonna watch Wrestlemania, but will be coming on tpww tomorrow, I sincerely hope Daniel Bryan doesn't win the title.

Yessss

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 12:48 PM

I'm holding out some hope that Batista's contract included the clause that he wins the title at WrestleMania or something and Batista went into dick mode when the "Yes movement" started and said "I don't give a fuck. It's in my contract. You're not changing plans."

As a few people pointed out, the card does seem to be a bit "predictable" in that the outcomes for most of the matches are pretty obvious. I think a few things they can do here are as follows:
  • CM Punk: Have CM Punk return during the Bryan/HHH match and have Punk nail Triple H. (someone like Kane or NAO tries to help out HHH during the match but Punk neutralizes the situation).
  • Austin and/or Hogan doing something of significance tonight: Austin's in town tonight, and I hope they use him for something more significant than a random stunner or a random promo. Perhaps the start of an angle? Hogan should knock someone out as well.
  • Re-birth of Dolph Ziggler: Someone other than Big Show winning the Andre The Giant Memorial: Out of respect to Big Show's career and having given so much to the WWE over the years (i.e. jobs at Mania), the WWE will very likely give Big Show the win here............but I'm hoping that they don't. Instead - I hope we see someone like Ziggler win the match and rejuvenate his career after a year of being punished.
  • Shocking turn or Break up: Cesaro will likely break away from Swagger and Colter tonight, but I'm hoping we see one more shocking turn. I think Ambrose/Rollins turning on Reigns could be interesting. Maybe something as small as being jealous over the fact that the fans voted big time for him as the Shield member going up against Kane this past RAW. Tamina winning the Woman's title by pinning AJ could be 1/3rd of semi-interesting I guess.
Those are some of the stuff that I'd do, but all in all, I think this should be a pretty good card. The match outcomes should be predictable, but the quality of wrestling with a few storyline twists could make this one of the Greatest Wrestlemania's of all-time.

I look forward to it!

theexample 04-06-2014 01:48 PM

The in-ring talent is certainly at its best.

Emperor Smeat 04-06-2014 01:55 PM

Bryan winning the title and the crowd going absolutely wild as the special memorable Mania moment.

Bray winning against Cena and maybe even cleanly since both would be a huge moment.

Someone other than Big Show winning the Andre battle royale just for the shock factor.

James Steele 04-06-2014 02:00 PM

I think the card is a big card with some huge matches. If you refuse to enjoy the product because of nitpicking, then I imagine this Mania doesn't feel all that big, but if you've actually enabled yourself to enjoy the build up of Daniel Bryan and the other young wrestlers, then this card is a great card that will not have a single match that isn't at least "very good".

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 02:04 PM

Or we think WrestleMania shouldn't be filled halfway with matches that seem like they would fit naturally on an episode of Raw.

But yeah, it MUST be REFUSING to enjoy the product because WWECANDONOWRONGOMGHYPEMACHINNNNEEEE!

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 02:05 PM

There are people here that I've seen be Daniel Bryan marks who don't really seem to care to see Bryan win the title. I can't relate since I found Bryan as a WrestleMania headliner to be a joke from day one but that seems... bad. lol

You automatically shit on a match because it doesn't "feel" like a Mania match. You are simply finding any reason to shit on it. If 2 small market teams play in the Super Bowl, it is still the fucking Super Bowl.

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 02:11 PM

Those are also the two best options. Because they're the two best teams. In a non-scripted sport.

This is a fucking scripted event where they have the ability to buildup whoever they want to make it "feel" as big as they possibly can.

Seriously? Are you really trying to make that comparison? lol

Tanawesome 04-06-2014 02:18 PM

As awesome as it would be to see DB win, I can't help but feel that Batista signed a contract that gives him the title at mania. I hope that's not the case, but I feel like it is.

Daniel Bryan will not win the title. Mark my words, as the current TPWW Tipsters champion of the world, I know more than the rest of you about wrestling.

Corporate CockSnogger 04-06-2014 04:28 PM

Or possibly Raw is War tomorrow night. Tonight is the time for Batista to get his hard earned moment in the spotlight

Corporate CockSnogger 04-06-2014 04:33 PM

Lol actually it might be funnier if Bryan does win tonight but then loses the title to Batista or Triple H on Raw in front of the gaylord crowd. Everyone will think he finally got his moment, for it to just last for a day.

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 04:41 PM

It was announced just before the main event that the winner of the Andre the Giant battle royal gets put into the main event too.

And that winner... and your new champion... is this man...

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-06-2014 05:06 PM

then the big show takes the fall in the title match.

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-06-2014 05:06 PM

It's WrestleMania I think it's already special unless something happens to screw it up.

Corporate CockSnogger 04-06-2014 05:08 PM

how does Show take the fall in the title match when Fandango has a Mania moment for the ages by winning the belts and kicking off the The Get Weird Era?

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2014 05:18 PM

Barring Fandango taking his rightful place as the face of the WWE, I'd actually be happy with Cena vs Wyatt main eventing the show. It's the most "epic" feeling match on the card and my rooting interest is only hampered by the fact that I love both guys. I'd at least like the show to end with something that feels like a "major" WrestleMania match.

As TPWW Tipsters Champion of the World and the most knowledgeable wrestling poster at TPWW, I hope you are all aware that I was merely making this "prediction" in order to plant a seed of doubt in all of your minds, so that you would believe Daniel Bryan would not win, thus making the event more enjoyable to you when he finally did pick up the win. It happened. I'll never forget that moment when I realised the ref had counted 3 and Taker was beaten. I waited for a few seconds for the ref to reverse the call because I didn't believe what was happening. That moment, when 75000 people went silent in shock, THAT is what made it Wrestlemania.
