Most overrated TV Shows

Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead..... PERIOD.

Sixx 08-29-2014 07:51 AM

2 Broke Girls.

Actually, I have no idea what's the reception of this show but the fact it's still on is enough for me to qualify it as overrated.

Clerk 08-29-2014 07:55 AM

Not really a show but the NFL is overrated aswell

Fignuts 08-29-2014 08:19 AM

Lost

Rammsteinmad 08-29-2014 10:36 AM

Family Guy and American Dad.

Tazz Dan 08-29-2014 10:52 AM

Revenge

screech 08-29-2014 11:13 AM

Scandal

MoFo 08-29-2014 11:22 AM

Couldnt get into True Blood.

Guess vampires are for girls and gays tho.

XL 08-29-2014 01:04 PM

Agree with Walking Dead. Watched up to Season 2, Episode 3 and nothing seems to have happened.

You're wrong about Breaking Bad though.

There's two reasons this show is popular. Both reasons exist inside Kat Dennings' shirt.

There is noisy stopping you, but you'd probably come off looking like a pretentious twat if you did, given you have admitted to not watching a single episode.

Sixx 08-30-2014 07:17 AM

For some reason I was kinda hatin' on GoT before watching it a single episode, too.

Guess it was kinda irritating how people wouldn't shut up about it. Hence I knew most of plot twists before I even started watching.

I'm sort of in the same boat.

That's why I brought it up. Pretty much everyone I know wouldn't stop talking about it.

I'm practically up to date on everything now, even though I've never watched it.

to the NFL v Rugby talk: the velocity in football is mathematically exponentially higher. not comparable. tons of sports science studies on this. its amusing to razz NFL fans over, but to legitimately believe is a bit much.

Seth82 08-30-2014 03:13 PM

I agree that Walking Dead, Lost, Friends, Scandal, Revenge & Scrubs are overrated.

I would also add Glee, Two and a Half Men & Looking.

Modern Family? The New Normal?

I find Modern Family to be incredibly overrated at times.

Does the show have to be on the air? If not then Firefly is my pick

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-30-2014 09:48 PM

Because it's garbage. Good musicals usually have original songs rather than just remixes of popular songs. I haven't really watched Glee so I don't know if they have original songs but from what i've heard it's just remixes.

They don't. They also steal other people's reworkings of songs without giving them credit. See the Jonathan Coulton "Baby Got Back" debacle.

Drakul 08-31-2014 03:22 AM

Pretty much anything people have fussed over these past few years has turned out to be over rated. I've had to sit through The Big Bang Theory multiple times. It really is just awful. How I Met Your Mother is another one. Both are forms of torture.

I'm just having a little fun with you with my above text but, seriously, the sport does just scream repressed homosexuality among other things. I can't imagine anyone wanting to do it unless they had the need to prove their masculinity (small penis?) or were repressed homosexuals who didn't realise what they were doing was immensely homoerotic or they were genuinely stupid/unstable enough that they actually wanted to beat another person into a bloody mess.

From the out-of-ring personality of the guys I've seen talking, those above assumptions seem very very likely.

I'm not saying you shouldn't like it or watch it, of course.

To be fair, I thought this was a regular show about a family (not sure how to call it) with only some humorous elements now and then.

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-31-2014 03:25 PM

Downton Abbey

It seems to get a lot praise, but it is just Sunday night fluff. I still watch it though, but I wouldn't call it great drama.

Cool King 08-31-2014 04:45 PM

The X Factor & Britain's Got Talent.

The X Factor is just a glorified karaoke competition and also a total waste of time if you think about, as the main point of the programme is that the winner receives a recording contract, but every year, the runner-up's and even third place get recording contracts too, which makes the competition pointless.

I think it's the only time I've ever heard of people receiving a competition prize, without even winning the competition.

I like the X-Factor UK and usually watch it online. Way better than any of the singing shows in the U.S. because it has a sense of humor and has more interesting auditioners and judges. Love the trainwreck acts like Jedward too.

Game of thrones is pretty overrated. Feel like I have to sit through about four hours of dull shit to see something cool happen. I've watched it all so far but it feels more like endurance than enjoyment a lot of the time. Plus the dragons look like they were cgi'd circa 1993.

The fact that we're born to have different tastes makes it pretty much a given we'll find different things over-rated.

I love Big Bang, HIMYM, and Modern Family, but I like the type of humour used in the shows. I can easily see how it's not everybodies cup of tea though.

In saying that, I hate shows like Its Always Sunny In Pilliadelphia, Community, and 30 Rock, I can't sit through single episodes and find them to be over-rated.

Most of the HBO dramas are over rated. Just because you can cuss and show tits doesn't make it a good show.
