At least two of these matches have the potential to be match of the year-- Zayn/Owens and Neville/Balor. And I think Itami/Breeze is probably going to impress, too. Honestly, apart from Dempsey/Corben, this whole card looks pretty damn amazing.

This should definitely go a long way towards replenishing my KICKOUT AT TWO gifs.

Women's Fatal Four Way also has a chance of being a sleeper for great match of the night or at least Divas match of the year.

I listened to OLE! by the Bouncing Souls about 4 times at the gym today to get pumped up for this.

PPV right now feels like the 2nd ppv NXT had where the 1st hour was mostly weak or the crowd cared more about the bigger matches later on.

Also them having to rush stuff because they couldn't get the Mania weekend seems like its hurting them a bit tonight.

Weird @ how he was kicking out all weakly and stuff though. If he was just trying to "sell a concussion" that seemed like a weird way to do it... looked like he was botching a bunch of "spots" or something... feel like I am being "retarded" rn... idk whatever

Also: Zayn/Balor would have been a really good match, but Owens/Balor is a whole different level of drama and insanity and will be a good litmus test for how the two will do with main roster-style matches.

I mean, I love the sort of match Zayn/Balor would have, but I'm not crazy enough to think that kind of match is going to happen much on Raw/SD/PPV.

Yeup. Owens looks like a bigger prick after that match than he did after R-Evolution while Zayn has really mastered the art of selling a concussion.

All that was missing was Owens powerbombing the ref for stopping the beatings and he'd be right up there with Lesnar as the "beast" of the WWE.

Seeing how this was your first time watching NXT, I can see why you are off put by this. Zayn was always booked as an emotional albeit underdog guy whose fight to win the championship was a better story than him defending it. Owens on the hand debuted not long ago as a beast with him jealous of his indy friends having received opportunities in the big leagues before him.

I expected a DQ would happen, but the belt changing hands turned the finish around for me.

People are complaining he shouldn't have won the title lol

I expect people to bitch about ref stoppage != pinfall or submission for a title change, but, if the ref stops the match because someone's unresponsive in a hold, we've had the title change hands before.

I mean, even without that, if you beat a guy up so bad he's going to die if the ref doesn't stop the match, I feel like you should get his championship. It's not like you shoved him out of the ring and hung out for ten seconds.

That tag match was super sloppy, but recovered at the end.

Corbin v Bull, so tired of seeing this already. Why was it even no dq? Did either of them do anything illegal?

Balor v Neville was awesome!

Divas 4-way was pretty damn epic as far as diva matches go. Miles better than anything they have done on the main roster in years.

Zayn v Owens was great, loved the finish but just for a second, for a second, I thought we were gonna see the package piledriver. Never gonna happen, I know, but still fun to hope.

What a fucking main event. Storytelling at its finest.loved the finish. They had me for a second with the match stoppage. But as soon as he handed him the belt, it became brilliant.

I will continue to argue how anyone on the main roster cannot see how the style and approach to nxt is so fucking appealing.

Got home from work around 12:30AM... watched it anyways...

Enjoyed it... Neville/Balor was great, and Zayn/Owens had some great "storytelling" or whatever. Women's match was good... finish seemed "anti-climactic"...

Tag Team match was unfortunate... Lucha Dragons slipping up a few times.... Blake and Murphy also seem... I dunno... I was very impressed at their work when they were jobbing to people, but now I'm like "show me the stuff that impressed me before".... Don't remember what it was....

Still not "into" Hideo Itami, but he is getting better....

Corbin/Bull was what it was....

Corbin/Bull is still more well done than any story on Raw or Smackdown.

I was really impressed with what I watched of the show, I fell asleep a couple of times. That was due to my cancer BTW, not the quality of the show, just thought I should point that out before the jokes/flaming started.

Kevin Owens is ready to be on the main roster, I've only seen this one match since he has signed with WWE, and it was better than what some guys on Raw and Smackdown are producing, I hope he keeps it up. Sami and Adrian Neville were good as usual, and Finn Balor and KENTA are fitting in nicely. I missed the Diva's match, but will catch up on that over the weekend on the WWE Network. Overall, these shows are still really producing some quality, HHH is doing a great job with NXT, love him or hate him, he needs to be commended for the shows he is putting on. And in saying all this, I'm really looking forward to this 'class' being promoted to the main roster, I think it will be a future HOF group in years to come :y:

Great show, and the main event was perfectly done IMO. Loved every minute of it

-The entrances were well done with the Gorilla shots/bass beat and the silence from the commentators

-Zayn's selling was awesome

-Owens constantly going for covers (during majority of the match) made sense. I hate when guys say " I need that title", but they display little urgency when trying to win it

-Zayn only having luck with aerial moves and getting burned with the "concussion"

-Loved the finish too, because yes we know Owens is a heel but him and commentators kept saying "This is business, it's for his family," so his actions were somewhat justified. Well towards the finish, Owens refused to pin Zayn even when he knew the match was over (his punches to the head and multiple powerbombs), which showed that he's truly just a bully and enjoys it.

Perfectly done and both of their characters grew

He should be Poop Dempsey instead of Bull. He looks like Tazz fused with a gas station burrito maker

Am I the only one who has no desire to see any of these people “moved up”? I really feel it is a demotion of sorts at this point. Some people I spoke to about this in my area say “but look at how well the Shied and The Wyatts were used”. I get that but also look at Fandango and The Ascension among others.
This applies to the women even more. My wife has come to a point where Diva matches are piss breaks for her and last night was amazed at the 4way. Her exact words were “Holy shit, someone forgot to tell them they are not supposed to put on entertaining matches”

At the same time though I'd have to imagine there is a significant pay bump for going from NXT to the main roster so those guys have every incentive to want to jump up

Just shame "The Universe" loses out in that case though. A guy I work with is convinced that Fandango, Ascension, and Bo Dallas are all a "worthless waste of space" simply because of how they re presented on the "big show".

Considering the rumored gimmick for Neville was a Mighty Mouse rip off, yeah, I wouldn't want to move up either.

I sure as hell would be nervous about moving up if I was a Diva also.

But yeah, money talks I guess.
