Jon Stewart vs. Seth Rollins

 This is awesome. Discuss. |
WrestleMania!
Even though it's goofy, it's actually a really good promo I think. I feel like he actually gets it and it's better than what we get on Raw from a lot of the guys and the "professional writers." It especially works for him because you know he's not meant to be taken seriously.
Don't let Vince see this or he's going to try to blow Stewart for some mainstream acceptance.
Raw guest host Jon Stewart coming this summer.
Oh we know how WWE handles getting this kind of attention. It's gonna get weird.
Jon Stewart on Raw would be fucking great in theory but they'd script him and take all the fun out of it.
I wonder if Stewart would settle for a handy from Kevin Dunn
LOL. Thoughts of John Stewart leaving The Daily Show to write for WWE. That would be amazing. I want to see John Stewart mic up with Heyman.

Great promo by Stewart.

I LOVE Jon Stewart so much and he follows the product based on his past comments!
He has said his kids watch it, and has gotten into it a little because of that. I know hes gone with them to live shows. I do think he "gets it" based on hows hes presented wwe on the show.
He will probably continue to like it until wwe starts calling his cell every 10 minutes to get him to appear on Raw. |
Ha, that was actually much better than what I expected it to be.
And yeah, WWE is gonna milk this and make it awkward.

I think he has also said stuff about Rusev/Jack Swagger at points...

No. He has no idea. He's going to regret posting that video in about 4 days time.
Over/under on Jon Stewart references on Raw this Monday night.
Wanna say at least twice in first hour.
Wonder if we could make it a drinking game? |
Pretty good promo. :y:
He was also there live in Boston when Rollins won Money in the Bank.
Vince jacked it to this video for sure. He'll pull all the stops to try and get Stewart to appear.
I loved the video! |

That vid doesn't work, so here's a link to an article with a vid that does. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/...nday-night-raw |
This whole thing is so weird.
Oh God. Jon. Don't do it, Jon!
He's gonna do it because his kids like rasslin' and also, money... but it's gonna be SO weird, whatever they write for him.
I think they will end up ok with this.
WWE will end up fine from all of this.
And a lot of Daily Show fans will end up watching Raw this Monday thinking "Why did I think this was a good idea?" |
this fued needs ddp let him train stewart like he did jay leno
There is only one acceptable way this can go down to legitimize this business for the Daily Show crowd and keep them tuned in:
http://www.wrestlingnewsreport.com/w...d-Arquette.jpg Jon Stewart needs to go over Brock. Clean. DO IT, VINCE! |
I think Jon Stewart turns heel and helps Rollins cash in some how.
Stewart turning heel and becoming a massive Seth Rollins' fan would be hilarious.
I can see Orton giving Rollins an RKO and helping Stewart actually pin him though.
Maybe he could be the one to end Rusev's undefeated streak...he did take issue with him and Lana talking about Russia's alleged superiority over the U.S.
Not saying give him the US title or anything; that'd be fucking stupid, but I'd watch it. |
I'm sorry but why is this entertainment?

It reminds me of those horrible days when Jay Leno tried to wrestle or when Bret Hart appeared on some show then lost the US title to Roddy Piper due to interference by some dude. I'd rather Rollins had a serious match or used the briefcase for tax return forms or something. |

What if Brock Lesnar and a referee happened to be in the crowd at the Daily Show and Rollins DIDN'T have his briefcase on him???
For some reason, #1-wwf-fan's post made me want to see an angle where a WWE Champion and a referee's strong off-air relationship is threatened by the presence of the Money in the Bank briefcase. The champion still hangs out with his friend (lover?), despite knowing this means there's a referee close to him all the time.
This leads to the tragic climax where the referee either has to register the cash-in or dishonor his role as a WWE official. |
Now that its happening tonight....on a scale of 1-10 how uncomfortable will this be? 1 being Hugh Jackman (self professed fan who gets into it, understands it and is written into a feud in a well done way) and 10 being Kathy Lee and Hoda (I'm embarrassed to be fan, and I hope no one is watching me watch this) .
Where would Jeremy "Summerfest" Piven rank on that scale? It wasn't embarrassing in the Hoda/Kathy Lee way, but it was certainly uncomfortable.
Piven was a solid 7.
I think Stewart will be a 2 or 3. The guy is a long time fan and watches with his kids, so he gets it. |
1 for sure.
Stewart was kick ass
Really awesome on the mic you can tell he is a fan (even sold his "back injury") His kids probably worship him now. |
yeah, he knocked it out of the park. Best celeb "interaction" since Dule Hill

brb pos-repping every CSL Burton Guster post
OKAY BACK
you know that's right |
Stewart somehow treated Rollins' character seriously and got into it with him without it coming off in a way where non-wrestling fans would see it and be like "LOL HE'S ACTING LIKE WRESTLING IS REAL! SO DUMB!" That seemed like it would be a really fucking tough line to tiptoe. He actually made wrestling seem way less dorky than it actually is which is a pretty big accomplishment.
That interview he did with Rene kinda implied he might start working for WWE. He did a good job Monday night I could see him on commentary.
Hope that forced crap ended last night.
Loving this. I'm a Jon Stewart guy.
I thoroughly enjoyed the segment. Felt like Stewart was a fucking natural. He didn't get much of a reaction upon showing up, and slowly worked up the crowd and delivered an excellent promo. By far the most well done involved celeb program they've done in a while.
