I mentioned this in the Bork Laser thread, but I'll say it again in here. It's really messed up that this stuff is more interesting than the actual televised stories this company is putting out.

If they are really controlling all of the dirtsheets, then it is one of the most brilliant, Machiavellian moves in all of television's history. But, I really don't think that's the case.

I read it as at the moment they're selling record amounts, as opposed to divas of the past. And the show would be NXT, and maybe Superstars or Main Event?

If that's what she meant, that's a good argument for why they should be paid as much as divas from the past. She follows it up with comparing how much they make to the male roster though.

Also, I'm guessing the show she's talking about is Total Divas. That's the only one that makes sense. So I guess she's got a point. Pay Paige the exact amount John Cena is making immediately.

AJ and the Bellas. Not sure on the Bellas but they are featured on the shop which only happens to top sellers while AJ for a good while was near the top in overall sales.

NXT women likely also are selling well with their own merchandise but not sure if AJ is counting them in that tweet.

I'm all for more attention put into divas matches/storylines. But AJ trying to act like the divas sell merchandise and bring in ratings enough to warrant them being paid as much as the guys though is just silly.

Steph is the worst I have never liked her. Any storyline she is involved in sucks.

Example:
She books a feud between her and Brie Bella who is a wrestler.
Steph Dominates the match to get her self over.
Brie gets a little bit of offense in and then Nikki turns heel to save steph.
Brie and Nikki feud, and Nikki says she wishes Brie died in the Womb.
Brie becomes Nikki's personal assistant and Nikki mistreats her.
Brie turns heel and is best friends with her sister again.

A lot of potential to get a major storyline going for WrestleMania however. If Steph's hurt is just a work, or she's willing to put it the side for the sake of business. Just have Stephanie McMahon come out and talk about an "unnamed Diva," who has taken it upon herself to try and embarrass the WWE. Steph says that this woman has been notified via the proper channels that she has been suspended until further notice. Steph then points out "This isn't the patriarchy suspending you...this is a woman more powerful than you doing it."

The company waits for the swell of "AJ Lee!" chants to start whenever Divas are wrestling, or Stephanie is on the screen. AJ Lee keeps letting Steph know via Twitter how she is deaf to what wrestling fans want. Hopefully some news outlets pick it up, and then Stephanie cracks and says she is offering an invitation to AJ Lee to apologise at WrestleMania -- the largest stage the WWE has -- to apologize to her publicly; or else she will never get the opportunity to compete for the Divas Championship again.

Man, that segment at WrestleMania would be pretty fucking awesome. Give AJ Lee free reign on the mic. Maybe she could tear into how Stephanie was handed everything because she was a McMahon, and she doesn't know the struggle that women working for Vince have had. She could mention how the girls break their backs for so little money, because they don't get the same marketing machine behind them that the men do -- unless it's for some reality show where the dumber they act the better. The closest thing to a female-exclusive match-up in the history of the WWE is a Bra & Panties Match, and you still employ an announcer that drools over the women instead of respecting the years of training they have put in to fight the negative stereotypes you have built up.

AJ can tear up and say that being the Women's Champion meant more to her than anything else in her life, but she cannot bring herself to apologize to Stephanie just for another shot -- because being a champion, nay, being a woman means to stand up for what is right. And Stephanie McMahon is what is wrong with professional wrestling today.

Stephanie can compose herself, raise her mic, and say "Well...the good thing about women being such hungry competitors is that if one girl isn't willing to suck it up and do what's best for business, another woman will..." Cue a new top heel attacking AJ Lee from behind and leaving her laying.

Only thing missing is AJ showing up "in the crowd with a ticket" type deal early in the angle, to make sure the non-Twitter casuals connect the dots of her being the "unnamed diva". Or at least have the announcers make mention. Don't leave that 100% up to the fans, because it may not work and turn into "oh look how not over she is" instead of "she's been off tv for weeks and Steph could be talking about anybody".

You're right. Record-selling could refer to AJ's merchandise being the best selling female merchandise in WWE history. Now, is it? Good question -- I'd like to know the answer to that. Or is it a record with whatever company produces, say, the latest line of Diva toys. Didn't they swap from Jakks-Pacific to Mattel? Maybe the AJ Lee figures sell more than the Trish Stratus figures under this deal?

The highest rated segments one is weird. Does she mean in comparison with the male segments? That seems silly. Or does she mean that, like her male counterparts, AJ Lee's segment on SmackDown is the most watched thing on cable television at that point in time?

She does need to clarify, and you're right, it does open up a very interesting discussion about what the females do make. Let's be honest -- AJ Lee shouldn't be paid as much as John Cena. But no one should be paid as much as John Cena at this point. Does AJ get paid as much as, say, Fandango though?

AJ/Steph could get really over using the Punk/HHH thing as tongue in cheek fuel for it. Really the perfect feud to grab the hardcore fan's attention and give AJ the spotlight she wants without having to act like a crazy whore.

I've been wanting to see either AJ or Paige (or both, in separate ways) take on The Authority for the longest time. AJ will lead to better promos, but I think Paige could have the more emotionally wrenching story.
