Why is imdb showing the release date for all the episodes as April 10th?

Apparently the "premiere" screening of the first two episodes was a huge success. The headline for Forbes' review calls it "one of Marvel's greatest achievements." Pretty much everything I'm reading says something similar.

I was excited before. Now I'm counting days.

But, yeah, seen the first episode and I thought it was quite promising. It seems a lot darker than Agents of Shield, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general, but I don't think that is a bad thing; maybe more appealing to older viewers.

That oner at the end of Eps 2; holy fuck.

Allusions to its connections to the MCU would place this Phase 2 canon wise. The battle of New York really trickled down. Great to see the nitty gritty effects of that. Adds weight.

Fight scenes in this are so incredible and realistic. Well, as realistic as one guy taking out 5 guys can be. Murdoch gets thrashed. Nice to see a superhero that doesn't just wreck shop at will. Into every character.

Really into this so far.

Netflix can do no wrong at this point. Their original content is as reliably awesome as HBO's.

Only saw the first episode this morning before heading out. Got all weekend free though so gonna try and binge it and finish by Sunday night.

Holding off until tomorrow afternoon to start this up. Watch a few episodes on my 3DS while on the plane should make the ride go fast.

Fuck all the positive reviews this has been getting has me super pumped. I won't be able to start watching it until tomorrow night at the earliest though. Super excited for this.

The fight scene at the end of episode 2 is one of the most impressive oners ive ever seen and that isn't hyperbole. It also might be the most super heroic thing i have ever seen. So human.

This is pretty easily the best of the super hero shows. It isnt even close.

Fuck sakes! And I'd just gotten over 'binge watching' Law and Order SVU on there. :nono:

Yep. I rarely binge watch anything, but I'm halfway through it in one day.

Phenomenal casting too. Particularly with Vanessa and the kingpin.

Was not expecting Kingpin to be like this and it is magnificent. Thought he would just be a typical dominant big boss type and he isn't like that at all. He's an anxietal emotional wreck.

and Fignuts, I'm with you on the fight scene at the end of episode 2. Boss as fuck. The coolest thing about the fight scenes is that everybody poses a threat. Murdock is always like one punch away from getting knocked out.

Yeah five episodes in and loving how Kingpin is portrayed so far. Netflix are such a powerhouse when it comes to TV shows now. Absolute quality in most things they do.

Gonna get to around episode 8 this evening and then finish it off tomorrow.

Marvel is showing they can do "gritty" and "dark" with this one. Cannot wait for Jessica Jones and David Tennent as the Purple Man. That's gonna be a mind fuck.

Lots of attention to Daredevil lore in this. Can tell the people who made this genuinely love the source material.

Also, just finished watching episode 8, and my god it was one of the best episodes of any tv show I've ever seen. Home fucking run.

Maybe that specific rating. But they own Miramax I think. They've had plenty of movies with mature content.

Awesome all the way through. Not a bad episode in the bunch.

Nope. They mention the avengers in a couple passing comments, but it is not tied to any of the stories at all.

There are lots of little nods to daredevil lore, but you won't miss any key story stuff from it.

Think of this as the Iron Man 1 of the Marvel Street Universe. There is a lot of world building this show is doing in order to have the other street level shows connect to the main universe. If they keep this up with the other 3, I will be very happy when it all comes together.

"Marked out" at the final 10-15 mins. Obviously difficult to compare to all other MCU projects due to the shift in tone, but it may well be the best thing they've put out so far.

Are all the netflix series supposed to come out before Civil War?

Would make sense, as they'll want to have as many heroes as possible for that movie. Not to mention, the street level heroes who work outside of the government would have to be the reason for the registration act, one would imagine.

A few little teases have me very excited to see Iron Fist.

For Iron Fist we've had Steel Serpent, Crane Mother, and the Hand. I'm pretty sure this is gonna rock.

Outside of the closing scene being the token superhero shot i think this show was perfect

This show actually gives Nolans BATMAN trilogy a run for its money.

Damn. Posted a big response to that on my phone but my Internet cut out.

In short, dronepool's statement isn't all that ridiculous. Other than the scale between the two, there's not too much a difference in quality, especially since Dark Knight Rises is a bit of a mess and drags the trilogy down as a whole, and Nolan is a bit shit at fight scenes, which DD excelled at.

But then I prefer a handful of Marvel's films over even Batman Begins and Dark Knight. I also genuinely enjoy Adam West era Batman over anything else DC has ever done so whatever.

Dark Knight Rises was meh, not bad- but not all great.


All 13 hours or so were good or great.

The fight scenes were better

The cinematography was great

The story was great

The build up was great


It's on the same level as Batman Begins/TDK

It's a pretty solid series. I am trying to enjoy it for what it is and not compare it to other superhero works.

You know what? I take it back, dronepool. I saw a few more episodes and have concluded that this show is definitely comparable to The Dark Knight series.

I have been amazed by the character ever since I picked up "Daredevil and the Marvel Knights" when I was younger. I am so happy with what they have done.

It hits a lot of the same notes as the Nolan series while not 'chasing the tone' like Arrow S1 did (if that makes sense).

Just finished the series. Great showing from everybody involved.

Look forward to the rest of the Netflix series now. Especially Iron Fist, which I think had the most "teases" in this....

Look forward to a season two if they decide to do it.

Probably be like three or four years until they do a season 2 if they do it, though..... :'(

Are the other Defenders shows gonna be as dark as DD? Can't wait for Tennant as Purple Man.

He does a Christian Bale like voice though. I really noticed it in episode 2 or 3. I'm half way through The Stick episode.

Dunno... but whatever he was doing, I loved it.

Liked how he would go from this softspoken dude who looked like he never quite knew what to do with his hands, to murderous outbursts of rage.

Episode 4's beat down was excessive.

I would love to see a Punisher series in a similar tone to this.

Thought this exact same thing while watching.

Maybe we'll get a "phase 2" of marvel knights shows, after the current batch. Punisher and MoonKnight would both be good.

Done with the first season. I have never enjoyed a superhero show so much.

Wow what a rush. Just finished the last episode. Took me two three days. Absolutely loved it. Had a huge smile on my face during the last episode when "Daredevil" finally appeared. Everyone was played brilliantly. I loved all the hints and references to the MCU and the comics, especially when they were referring to that Greek girl Matt was dating in high school. :y:

I'm excited to see where they go next with these Marvel Knights-based series, and I can't wait to get another Daredevil season. Will be awesome to see if/how all of these series (Daredevil, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D) and any others, will tie into the main MCU, and if they'll all be involved for Civil War/Infinity War.

The Devil horns are a bit much.

Everything was really well done. I think Wilson Fisk was the best character.

The Priest was also really good. Story about the Devil was really deep.

Finished this last night. Pretty much perfect. Feels like the "Mad Men" of superhero shows, where in any given episode maybe it doesn't feel like all that much "happened," but then when the endgame starts, you realize it's all been building to this. Spectacular show.
