Potential HoF candidates for 2016?
Undertaker with it being in Texas and likely to be his final match.
Possibly Sting as well but it depends on whether or not he will want to call it a day then too (if he hasn't done so already). Celebrity wing: If he wins next weekend and given his association with WWE and Triple H, surely Floyd Mayweahter has to go in? Muhammad Ali and Liberace should be in there but the former probably wouldn't be able to attend the ceremony due to ill health and the latter's "lifestyle" might be at odds with the whole PG-era? Other candidates: Stacy Keibler, Ivory, Beth Phoenix, Victoria. Personal picks: British Bulldog, Owen Hart, Sid Eudy, DDP, Longshots: Goldberg (the man just doesn't have any friends left in the business), Christian (I don't think he is retired), Kurt Angle (if he left TNA and signed a legends contract), Rey Mysterio (would be deserving but given his current relationship with WWE, unlikely), Chris Jericho, and Michael Cole. Finally; Tazz Dan (because he's a God), Posthumously for Susan G Koeman (because of the fact they support her charity). |
Bull mother fucking Nakano
Also, Bam Bam Bigelow |
Agree with Bam Bam and DDP. NWO probably go in next year.
|
Muhammad Hassan.
WWE went overboard once they transitioned his gimmick from a somewhat obnoxious guy preaching about discrimination and America being hypocrites to acting terrorist-like with threats and antics. |
Ron Wright
|
As hilarious and entertaining as it was, Lance Storm should never have been turned into a party boy.

There's also a WWE live event coming soon in June I believe so it seems I am being spoilt for choice.
Would be keen to see what NXT is all about though people here seem to love but I never really got into it and would only tune in before the live broadcast of Raw would being back in the UK. |
Who moved my HOF thread? I thought it was an interesting thread.
Not like it was John Cena the lovechild of Vince or something stupid not related to an interesting debate or tits. |
Bobby Jaggers, Ron Wright, That dude who had to retire from CHW and the Muppets

So much left to offer

Thought I should revive this.
My ideal candidates would be: Undertaker and Sting (assuming WM 32 is their last or they're already done). British Bulldog Owen Hart (the two are unlikely to go in together) Vader One of Ivory or Stacy Keibler. Would like to say Beth Phoenix or Victoria but the former has only retired in the short-term (i.e. give it a few more years) the other was hardly that big of a star in the WWE but nevertheless seems popular. Harlem Heat as a tag team. Possibly NWO as a faction. Celeb wing: dream choice is Muhammad Ali but I assume they must have considered him previously but didn't induct him for a specific reason. Perhaps they feel it would take the spotlight away from a marquee induction i.e. having Ali appear at any event is THE highlight. Liberace would be a good candidate too given his role at WM 1 and also would be appropriate given it would be within a year of the whole legalisation of gay marriage in the US thing etc. |
Also I believe the founder of Susan G Koeman Foundation (her mother) passed away recently so she might be a candidate for the Warrior award.
Goes without saying our buddy Tazz Dan deserves to be in there too. Will be a very interesting 2016 HOF. On another note given how engaged WWE are with social networking etc, it would be great if the fans had a role/say in who should be inducted. I still find it silly how Rikishi (though a good guy) is in the HoF ahead of Bulldog, Owen, Sid, heck even Goldberg. I also think it might be time to recognise JBL and Michael Cole for their services. The latter in recent times I feel has really become "the voice of the WWE", sure never a replacement for JR or King but he deserves some recognition. |
The Freebirds
Stan Hansen Sting Brian Pillman Vader Sid Vicious Wahoo McDaniel DDP |
Barry Windham got inducted with the Horsemen didn't he? They could do Dory Funk Sr.
|
Pillman yes. Has Terry Funk been inducted?

Terry definately should have gotten his own induction, and Dory too.

I don't think Undertaker and Sting will be inducted at the same time.
Both are huge names and are obviously going to be the headline for the ceremony. So if we're talking possibilities, then as it's Texas, I think Undertaker will be inducted next year, and the next time WrestleMania is in Georgia, it'll be Sting. I can't remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that Georgia is a possible contender for WrestleMania 34 or 35 or whatever. |
The Steiner Brothers
Sid Ivory Pillman Big Bossman Eric Bischoff Lex Luger |
Isn't Scott Steiner with GBF now?
I think it makes ineligible. |
He also wants to murder the Hulkster, but they are deserving.
|
DX
Evolution The Kliq Two-Man Power Trip The Corporation The Corporate Ministry The Authority |
my own personal picks:
The Fabulous Freebirds Stan Hansen Wahoo McDaniel The Destroyer Bruiser Brody Sting Kevin Sullivan |
Ew kevin Sullivan sucked

I can't see the Steiners being inducted together or individually in the near future given Scott Steiner's beef with Hogan.
Lex Luger is tricky as some will say he is deserving for winning the WCW title twice and other achievements but his achievements weren't that great and any argue he was incredibly overrated. Completely overlooked the Big Bossman. Eric Bischoff....what's his relationship with the WWE like these days? How about Miss Elizabeth? Do you think she is worthy of an induction? |
Liz should have gone in with Savage. I think the ship for her has sailed now, unfortunately.
|
Same story hurts Luger's chances as well. Remember when Triple H was talking about Chyna probably not going in because kids will Google search her checkered past? I feel like many will be overlooked because of that line of thinking.

That's like barfing saliva, sorta. Probably not the appropriate reaction to Chyna's porn, though. |

Elizabeth I'm not sure, had she been inducted with Savage she would have been a side note. I think Triple H's Chyna comments were a mask. Let's be honest for as long as the McMahon's are involved in the company, the daugther of the Chairman isn't going to want induct her husband's ex-girlfriend/partner especially with all the BS and mud slinging that's gone down since then. The comments alluding to her porn career is to just cover (or add to) the fact that it's just plain awkward no matter how deserving she is. If we were to do the morality test then a lot of personalities in the WWE HoF have dirt on them whether it be Scott Hall or even Mike Tyson. On a side note if WWE wanted to induct someone still active/relevant then maybe Floyd Mayweather in the celeb wing? He may well be officially retired come next Spring too. |
Think I'm sort of a masochist cause I once watched a few minutes of her gang-bang video. It was in the middle of a wrestling ring and the actors were dressed up as famous wrestlers like Hulk Hogan. Scenes not showing Chyna were actually kinda hilarious.
|
What do people think of my suggestions of Muhammad Ali and Liberace in the celeb wing?
Surely those were no brainers given their connection to WM 1? |
Ali would be depressing to look at and Liberace is dead.
|
Muhammad Ali - ok, but Liberace?
|
Anonymous RAW GM should go in.... THE REAL ONE, not the fall guy.....
|

In the grand scheme of things Playboy/porn could have been overlooked but being vocal about the chairman, his daughter and accusing his son-in-law of domestic violence etc.....I can't see them suddenly forgiving and forgetting and welcoming her back into the WWE family with open arms. You wouldn't invite your ex over to a family dinner particularly if your wife didn't like her, the split was acrimonious and she made (unproven) allegations afterwards. That's pretty much what this situation is. Credit to Austin for asking the question in line with his no holds barred attitude but I'm sure he knew what the answer was going to be. |

...not in the celebrity wing.
|
It'd be a downer at the show and all he did was dance at WM1. The celebrity wing is just for PR, and inducting Liberace would generate little PR.
|
Quote:
You'd argue Tyson and Schwarznegger were "big" personalities too who didn't necessarily remove the spotlight from the major inductee but those guys (with the greatest of respect) aren't on the same level as Muhammad Ali. It's like inviting the President or the Queen to a party and not putting them on the top table or making them the chief guest etc. Ali isn't a sideshow. Liberace- more his involvement with WM 1 and also maybe it would be timely as it would be the first HoF post legalisation of gay marriage and WWE could jump on the bandwagon by portraying themselves as champions of equal rights etc. Indeed, Liberace never got the full credit he deserved as an entertainer (outside of WWE circles) because of his sexuality and times have (hopefully) changed. |
Quote:
The other opportunity would have been at WM 30 or when the Liberace movie came out i.e. when there was a brief revival in interest in the guy etc. |
Quote:
Also, as someone mentioned already, this would generate very little PR, unlike Ali. |
WWE should induct Elton John. Have him do a song about HBK.
|
Inducting a gay person just because of the gay marriage thing is dumb. The SCOTUS ruling won't even be in the news come next April once all the religious assholes find something else to fill their martyr complex.
|
Wait, I GOT!!!! WWE should induct Rosie O'Donnell. She was a part of an iconic RAW segment.
|
Wait, the Miller Catfight Girls had a match at Mania. Didn't they make out or something?
|
So why have they not inducted Ali yet?

I can't see Liberace going into the HOF.
although we do have him to thank for this awesome moment of him and The Sheik Ed Farhat https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BwLZlzACQAAK2rd.jpg |
What was awesome about that moment?

Angry Miz Girl should be in the WWE Hall of Fame right jazzy foot?

I always want Owen Hart to go into the Hall of Fame but we all know that will never happen, so along with Owen, every year I want this and it never happens:
HoF 2016: The British Bulldog. |
Is there any way WWE could induct Owen without his wife's permission? If they inducted him, but didn't put it on DVDs and cut it out of the Network VOD edit, how much could she really sue them for? Is she really going to go on a news show rampage about WWE honoring her husband? Would bringing up all the issues surrounding his death really do much? Can she even do that after her settlement with WWE? She has every right to be eternally angry with WWE, and her hatred of pro wrestling is quite understandable. I just wonder what WWE is really afraid of legally with her on this end. Did she sue them over the Hart Family DVD that featured Owen back when Bret first returned to WWE?

Well as I said before the whole Chyna not going in isn't about the porn etc whatever Triple H says. It won't happen in this lifetime unless the McMahons decide to sell etc. The domestic violence accusation probably extinguished whatever faint hopes there might have been of an induction. The closest we will get to some kind of Chyna tribute is if she passes away and they post an obituary of her. |
Diamond Dallas Paige because it's in Dallas lol
|
Tazz Dan
|
Yoshihiro Tajiri would be good from the standpoint of being deserving as well as for overseas representation.
|
After Undertaker sucks Brock Lesnar's dick at Summerslam (or the PPV after Summerslam) and retires, I think Taker will get inducted into the Hall of Fame at this cumming Wrestlemania in Texas.
|
Quote:
shit Muta needs to go in too before Tajiri is even a serious consideration. |
You don't know shit about shit if you think the WWE and their fans would rather see those guys than Tajiri. It's a business, not a charity, Seth.

80 percent of Japan tuned in to see Rikidozan battle Lou Thesz. Not even Hogan or Austin could pull that off. Rikidozan had a tremendous impact on wrestling. He trained both Antonio Inoki and Rikidozan. He was the father of puroresu. Baba and Inoki founded two of the biggest companies in wrestling. Rikidozan's legacy is too big not to be hall of fame worthy. of course their fans would rather see a midcard comedy act be inducted. they haven't been taught about the history of the business. |
No, it's because not everyone is a basement dweller who oils up to Giant Baba matches while listening to The Go-Gos and throwing darts at a picture of Ryback.
