Destination America dropping TNA this September.
Invoked their opt out clause they had with TNA for the tv deal. Informed TNA of the decision to cancel Impact a few days after the announcement of the show moving to Wednesdays.
Similar to Spike, Destination will honor the months remaining baring a sudden TNA collapse or shut down. Quote:

I don't see anybody network or cable who would pick them up. Unless it's some outfit we've never even heard of before.
|
The end.

Maybe they could get picked up by Cable Channel 10 in Aurora, Illinois. But lol TNA prob isn't worthy.

Still don't get why Discovery took them on. :?: |
What's the "source" of this "news"? Metlzer? prowrestlingscoops.com? I haven't seen it on TPWW news yet so I don't know if I believe it....

Rest of the report from the Observer about the cancellation was Dixie Carter knowing well in advance of the decision but didn't bother to tell any of the wrestlers and likely most of management about it. Destination America sent representatives to help with the months remaining before TNA gets kicked off.

Maybe they can still do the shows. Just show them on one of those fancy new minute-long newsreels that are all the rage at the theaters.
|
I think their best bet is to move to the UK and they to work out a deal on the Velocity channel. Its sad that Destination America is giving up on TNA this fast. IMPACT was the channels highest rated show. What were they expecting to happen, I mean really your channel is not as well known as Spike and some people don't even get it that got Spike.
|
It's times like this when Vince pops in and buys everything.
|
|
They should go back to weekly ppvs
|
Maybe they can get a podcast or something and survive by crowd funding.
|
Can't wait for the Don West asset fire sale.

Hope WWE buys they're library.
|
I could see Vince buying them and using them as another NXT. Could give talents another place to get away from NXT without coming to the main roster. A NXT vs. TNA storylineccould be cool if done the right way.
|
... but most likely, they get the tape library so they can acknowledge Sting and Hogan's entire careers, make more money off of Jeff Hardy, job or don't use most of the roster as no value is seen in them, but keep them on paper so Jarrett can't have them.
|
Bring back Kurt, Dudleys, Jeff, maybe see if Styles would sign since I know Vince wanted to sign him back when...just those guys, and I'd be happy.
|
the fat lady is clearing her throat.....
|
Yeah, this surely has to be the final nail in the coffin. No network worth a damn is going take them on.

James Storm and Bobby Roode deserve a debut, I know they are getting up there in age, but a certain former TNA talent showed up last night so it's not out of the picture. Jeff Hardy is out with a broken leg cause of dirtbiking, he'd be ready for the Royal Rumble |
I wonder what the cost of putting shows up on something like Hulu or Yahoo Screen or any of the other countless online streaming apps would be. Could be a lot more viable for something like TNA than an actual network show. :dunno:

WWE needs to pick up EC3, Mia Yim, and Austin Aries.
Back to the topic at hand... Seriously, I hope TNA lands on another network, Pro Wrestling needs more outlets for wrestlers to prefect their art. As much as I love NXT, I don't think that it should be the only go to place to make the money that you want. I think all of us can safely say that a reason for WWEs complacency in booking is because there is little competition. The only thing that's blowing WWE out of the water on a consistent basis is, in fact, NXT. TNA had better and more, story lines form the women than NXT. I love the Dollhouse gimmick. The EC3 Campaign is very different, and I think it's pretty good. The Rising angle is okay. In the end, I don't like to see people lose work opportunities as well as a promotion as decent as TNA miss out. |
I would poach some of the Knockouts and jettison some of the Divas if I were in Vince's shoes.
Doubt Gail Kim and Christy Hemme would come back. I'm all for bringing Sky and Love aboard. |

For the love of all bring Kurt back to the WWE. He does no deserve to be known as a TNA wrestler.
|
I wonder why advertisers don't want their products advertised on TNA programming. Does TNA do racy things?
|
TNA is like Attitude Era lite...
The WWE should take Velvet but not Angelina Love. MOST of the TNA roster could go to ROH and instantly get a gig. Also the knockouts can go to ROH and they could start a women's division if they wanted. if TNA does fold, some might go to ROH, a small population would go to Lucha Underground, maybe a couple would tryout at NXT. Like I said before, Mia Yim would be the first that WWE would accept from TNA because she was on NXT as enhancement talent. Any other knockout I would be surprised in seeing. Marti Bell would be a long shot though. By way of male wrestlers, a good bit of them are WWE released talent. So Austin Aries, James Storm, Bobby Roode, and MAYBE Abyss could get in because they never set foot in WWE, not counting Aries voice work for Jacob Cass. The question is, would they be willing to start over to try to get on TV? |
They wouldn't have to start over. Pretty sure Owens and Joe have showed that you can come into NXT and not have your past erased.

Look at how many wrestling fans stream content and you get why. |
Not so much of an "Invasion" storyline, but would anyone be interested in a TNA-based faction in WWE?
It wouldn't have to be a full-blown TNA Invasion, but it would be similar to the Radicalz back in the day. |
Maybe if they have a stable in NXT it would come off better.
|
I think it would work best as a NXT vs TNA angel.
|
Quote:
If I was booking, TNA Radicalz would be Roode, Storm, Eric Young and Aries. |
damn wish they went to wgn, I can drop dest America in 3 months now. they need to reunite with gfw now and let jeff run it again.

Honestly someone just needs to put them out to pasture Old Yeller style. TNA isn't even a joke anymore. It's just sad watching something suffer like this.
|
The product that they put out is good in my opinion. They have built some good young talents in the last couple of years that can carry the company to the future, if one exist. The problem they have is management, feel like the Carters don't take TNA serious and put the money into it that they could. Wish they would sell TNA even if its not cancelled.

Also Meltzer from the Observer called out TNA's lawsuit bluff with saved emails and documents sent by TNA to him to prove his side of the case if it actually goes to court. https://i.imgur.com/6gHR1qv.png |
Lol Yeah ask Cornette how scared he was when TNA threatened legal action.
|
Any company going out of business is sad for all those who work with it.
However don't think anyone working there will be surprised by it. I assume many will end up working for GFW anyway, which given the launch is around the time TNA will fold will probably work out best for everyone. Question is, how can GFW ensure it doesn't suffer the same fate as TNA? Particuarly if it ends up with a similar staff and roster. |
Hey look its Outsider.

I'd love Trips and Steph to appear on Impact one day a la Shane on Nitro.

I hope vince just buys it and puts an end to TNA, its been dead for a long time, they need to give it up. |

GFW roster will fill out nicely by the end of the year..... I see it being a fledgling TNA 2.0 by Wrestlemania next year.....

TV deals seem hard to come by theese days. I'm worried the Jeff won't find one as soon as he thinks and will just be tunning house shows for a while. His talent will be locked up somewhere else if he doesn't hurry and get one. Moose has already signed a 2 year TV exclusive contract. Chucky Taylor is having a WWE tryout soon. Pretty sure Tyrus is TV exclusive with TNA for now.

if wgn wants to get back in the raitings game again they should ether talk to jeff or talk to Dixie or get them back togather, if wgn got a good wrestling show that will get people to get there ch again.

Not sure how real this is, but I actually cannot wait until TNA ends at this point. They have some phenomenal talent that will find work elsewhere. They've got some big enough name stars that could return to the WWE and create a bit of a shockwave (mainly Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy). TNA just keeps these guys hidden away from the view of people who would otherwise latch onto their personalities.
So many of the guys would work in either WWE or GFW -- which hopefully doesn't make the same mistakes TNA has. |
I think Kurt and Jeff will both end up in GWF if anywhere. Neither of them is cut out for a full time WWE schedule, and while it's not out of the question that Kurt may be able to swing a Lesnar schedule or non-wrestling role, or that Jeff could do short-run returns like Jericho does, I think they would both find better situations being the star power for GFW. WWE's only interest in this point, as has been said, would be getting their hands on the tape library to fill the career gaps of the likes of Kurt, Jeff, Booker, and Sting. I seriously doubt you're ever going to find a "TNA" section under PPVs on the Network.
|
Also since GFW is in the conversation here, given that TNA got its start doing weekly PPVs, I could totally see GFW starting off with a poor man's WWE Network with a 5 dollar subscription doing 1 or 2 PPV type shows a month, then once interest has built up, make those two shows ostensibly your "Raw" show and then have a traditional PPV every 2 months or so, eventually bumping the online shows up to weekly.
|
Why not cut a deal with Hulu or Netflix?
|
Could you imagine Brock dominating again when he comes back but then Kurt's music hits. Maaan that would be awesome.

More details regarding this issue from the recent Radio Observer show.
Supposedly the Observer tipped off TNA about the cancellation since Meltzer wanted to know if the story was true or not. Ended up realizing Dixie likely knew well beforehand and was livid about anyone else finding out (inside TNA or publicly). That's how the rest of TNA managed to find out what was happening with Destination America and TNA itself. |
LOL that logo is so horrible it makes me want to scratch my eyes out.
Now I know how people who've watched their product feel. |
Do you think TNA should rejoin the NWA ? I mean the NWA carries so much prestige and when TNA broke away to do their own thing the NWA kinda fizzled. If they changed to the National Wrestling Association and became the NWAs top promotion then they could use the other promotions as a development system. I don't know if the NWA would go for it though. Its just crazy to think that the NWA isn't to relavent in wrestling today.
|
They probably should, but how the fuck a terrible organization like TNA would convince them to re-associate with them after having gone their own way for something like a decade is beyond me.
|
If Ethan Carter III defeats Angle for the TNA World Title, I hope Angle wins the NWA Title and shows up in TNA with it and claim's to be the Real World's Champion to get under EC3's skin.
|
That's it for TNA I guess, its a shame
