Kevin Dunn Not Best For Business
This is in regards to the probable tension between Kevin Dunn and the McMahon Helmsley leadership. Personally, I think a lot of the company's problems stem from Dunn trying to match Vince's ego with his own and was probably under the impression the company should've been relinquished to his full control if not for Paul and Steph. What are your thoughts on this situation?
|
Who's Kevin Dunn? Is this about that actor?
|
Kevin Dunn's problem is that he's a wrestling guy who is ashamed of wrestling. He also hates accents, especially if they are Southern or European. He also matches Vince's toilet humor. He's also lazy. He's also guaranteed a job for life under Vince. He's also a Bucky Beaver Motherfu...
Sorry about that. I let Jim Cornette borrow my computer. |
I hate Kevin Dunn based solely on the stories from shoots. Not just from Cornette either. Paul Bearer hated him. Seemed like the nicest guys ever. You gotta be a real piece of shit to have made Paul Bearer hate you.
|
Lots of wrestlers sings his praises. Recently saw an interview with Finlay who was not employed with the company at the time, and he called Kevin Dunn a genius.
|
Kevin Dunn? More like Kevin DUMB Lolololol amirite?
|
always confused him with Kevin Kelly
|
I don't know if I ever saw him before...
PICS or GTFO |

At the end of the day, everything runs through Vince

Gert, Finlay singing Dunn's praises while not employed is still probably him minding his words because he wanted to get his job back or knew he could get his job back and didn't want to burn bridges. Pretty weak example. Something I'd except from a Sullivan mark #dungeonofdouche

I think this guy needs to disappear! His creative decisions attempt to do that to pro wrestling legacies, tear away at the foundation upon which it stood by formatting it such a way to make fans feel the full retard of his influence in the stories played out. Hate to say it, but the only way he'll probably go is if Vince croaks or if he had racist rant of his own. I would say a flattening scandal on this guy is long overdue.

What "tension" are we talking about?
|
Tension as in his de-pushing of those from the NXT roster who are a part of the Main Roster to negate the influence of Paul and Stephanie. Ryan has an article up on it in the news section. I am sure this qualifies as tension as this is not-so-agreeable communication between management camps, and frankly just a dick move on Mr. Dunn's behalf.
|
Supposedly Triple H's been wanting to clean house of WWE's management and style for years while Dunn and what's left of Vince's Yes Men/Inner Circle have been fighting all those efforts. Triple H has been pretty successful with actual management cleaning but Dunn's side has been making sure NXT hasn't been as big of a success when it comes to call ups.

I have a feeling he may have had, besides VKM, the biggest part to play in the excessive Cena glorification and the humiliation of Reigns by the unprepared push.

So confused right now, please read my posts. |
Probably came from the Tampa Pipeline now that he's unemployed, Damn iNator.

Heard that he runs a good ship as far as the technical/production side of things go, but his influence with Vince is deadly to the way professional wrestling is perceived. Basically what #1-wwf-fan said.

The fact that this production guy has any say over the other creative aspects of wrestling is baffling to me. It would be like if Roger Deakins started altering the Coen brothers scripts and started influencing their casting decisions. Or maybe it's not like that at all, I don't know.
|
It sounds a lot like that.

Mothafuckin Damndirty back in this piece, son.

Hells yeah! How's it goin Franky?

Things are aight. Same shit different day.

Yeah, I've been having to watch television purely through Youtube, but starting to like it better for the most part. Actually spent most of my day at work and listened to the several commentaries on Dunn. Seems like Cornette had the most to say indeed!

4 pics of Kevin Dunn in this thread and his mouth is not fully closed in any of them, even the ones where he's not talking. Maybe he is physically incapable of doing so. |
Though I really don't think he should have any say in the wrestling...I have to give the guy some credit for been the head line producer of all shows since 1988. I remember a couple of years back there was a leaked NXT broadcast where you could hear Dunn at the controls the whole show.
It was the divas season of NXT...something you could clearly phone in if you wanted to. But nope, he's calling for different camera shots, counting down the start of entrances, meticulously controlling everything about the production. To realize he's needed to do that 2 nights a week (plus PPVs) for 52 weeks a year and sometimes 4 different shows being taped. Feel like I'd have quit due to stress after a while. |

Mouth breather

So his place is assured all because his Pappy saved a vital set of videotapes from a car fire? Vince, you put WAY too many personal (and highly questionable) choices over what could've been very good business decisions. I love Vinny, but he reallyneeds to let Hunter take the full helm and not let the Angry Beaver remain the waste of time and money he is and has always been.

You guys still believe dirt sheet sites? Didn't they say after the last PPV it was gonna be HHH vs Rollins at Summerslam..... how's that coming along?

The best thing about the Newsletters is it costs more to read some old guys bitching about wrestling than it does to watch all the wrestling you could watch.

Except the guys who know something about wrestling all seem to hate the guy. Vito emphasizes the point about him being good at the production side of things, but I think him being so involved could be a part of the problem. After a while, you either have so much influence or want things to go as smoothly as you want them, so your vision ends up imposing itself. Even if you do have a great mind for what you do, then you're going to eventually blanket everything.
Getting Dunn to drop SmackDown, at the very least, could allow someone else to step up and give things a new flavor. |
Also, completely forgot he was a judge on the original Tough Enough tryouts. Made no sense.
|
Was he? I'd completely forgotten that...may have to try and track down some of the original series ep.'s on YT tonight.
|
Can't wait until he gets kicked whammed and Pedigreed out of the WWE when Vince retires.
