Things that made you laugh that weren't supposed to be funny

Things like this happen all the time in wrestling. A botched move, a flubbed line, something serious coming across so shittilty that you can't help but laugh. Anything like that, really. Let's list them in this thread.

First one to pop into my head, Bluetista.

http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/imported_ass...XFIMAAciWu.png

I just burst out laughing when I saw this. Probably not the best way to get Evolution over as heels right before their big main event match. I love Heeltista but he just looked like such an idiot here. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall backstage when Triple H and Orton saw what he was wearing.

Emperor Smeat 08-12-2015 02:55 PM

HBK vs Hogan - Summerslam 2005. Doubt the original plans were for HBK to make a mockery of Hogan but all the antics he did in that match made it really hard to not laugh during the entire match.

Wasn't until later that the real reason for HBK being a goofball was revealed.

The Condor 08-12-2015 04:52 PM

Fans laughing and chanting "You tapped out" after Lesnar beat HHH at Summerslam. It was supposed to be some intense, poignant moment for HHH, but he just has never had that sort of connection with fans and they made the moment absolutely hilarious.

Can't find a YouTube vid of it but Jericho/Orton at NOC last year. Jericho standing on the top rope for fucking ever, so obvious he was gonna jump into the RKO. Then Jericho does the flying nothing with his arms thrown back like a bird and of course right into a RKO. I burst out laughing because of how it was the most telegraphed spot ever.

And then laughed again when Jericho went on a rant about it on TIJ and was incredulous that anybody would accuse the spot of being predictable.

Seriously, though...how this made it to air without just re-doing the segment, especially since it was meant to be part of the build to their WM XIX match-up:

Shouldn't have been funny, but it was actually hilarious, especially considering they gave poor Goldust basically Porky Pig Syndrome for a good while afterwards...I still chuckle remembering him confronting Triple H on RAW and Triple H and I think Flair was there, too both laughing at him stuttering "WrestleMania"...

Get out of my head...I literally just watched that on DM like half hour ago...was a 10-man tag of Eddie, Benoit, Show, X-Pac & Nash v. Booker T, Goldust, Bubba, Spike and RVD...July 8, 2002...the next week, Vince showed up and said with Bischoff introduced as new RAW G.M., there would no longer be any n.W.o. in WWE...was really long overdue, too.

A BASTARD. After saying "A Bastard" for like 3-4 times in a row, Mrs. White started crying. Good times, LOL.

Taker beating the shit out of Jim Ross in 2001 and then getting JR to kiss McMahon's ass was also gold.

#1-norm-fan 08-25-2015 11:30 AM

WrestleMania 23. I was watching it with a friend who wasn't that big of a wrestling fan. Muhammad Hassan is in the ring beating up Eugene and Hogan's music hits. He recognizes the music and understands it's a big, epic, heroic moment of the ultimate good guy coming in to clean house and save the day... Hogan slides in the ring and immediately starts getting stomped on by Hassan and Daivari.

As a life long wrestling fan, I knew what was going on and what was about to happen. He started laughing hysterically though. And when I realized why, the absurdity of it actually made me laugh more than I've ever laughed watching wrestling.

#1-norm-fan 08-25-2015 11:32 AM

Also, when Triple H and Stephanie returned and held a "John Cena appreciation night" only to fire all the members of his Survivor Series team. The image of Cena looking horribly depressed in the ring while the happiest music ever played and confetti fell around him made me laugh uncontrollably.

It's not that this is offensive. It's just so fucking unfunny it hurts. Those puns were probably done like 8 millions times by now, by clowns trying to be edgy.

#1-norm-fan 08-25-2015 11:52 AM

Now if you wanna make Owen Hart jokes you've gotta be clever and sly about it like Booker T was a couple months ago.
