They got the blue and black ranger mixed up.

Just a comment that "Zack" is Asian in this and "Billy" is Black. PC Police Strikes Back. Maybe they are making the Black Ranger Adam?

If they want to keep the PC Police at bay further they need to have Rita be played by an Asian.

I'm kinda sick of Melissa McCarthy already.

I wouldn't put this on the PC police. After season one PR never cast a black person as Black and an Asian as Yellow ever again. It's likely there will never be a Native American Red for similar reasons.

And PR always made sure the teams were racially diverse. Basically there's nothing unusual about this casting.

They announced that the original MMPR character names are being used for the 5.

She almost looks like a copy of that lady villain in The Wolverine.

So Apocalypse looked like Ivan Ooze and Rita looks like Viper.

The game begins.

Pretty sure she stopped by the Elder Scrolls universe, grabbed some sweet glass armor and ran it through a sexy mod to get that outfit.

I think she was primarily cast for her voice. The look is fine sort of Divatoxish with the hair.

Maybe it is because I was young but wasn't Rita super old? Not that I mind looking at this babe instead.

Rita from the Sentai was 57 in 1995 when Rangers came out but her footage was from earlier than that. She died in 2008.

They used an another actress for American footage once the Sentai ran out and needed to expand. That Rita is 46 now and was 26 for her run in Power Rangers (Season 2 and on.) The voice actress remained unchanged for the run.

I'm liking it. I loved the original Power Rangers, but that was 20 years ago, I'm happy with a few changes here and there.

What the hell is that. The red ranger looks like he could be Lord Zed from the neck down. Red has the best looking helmet though. Looks more like Beetle Borgs suits with Power Rangers helmets.

I'm fine with this. A little over done but I'm fine.

My only issue is i have to question how mobile they could be in those. I have to wager we see more focus on mech action than kung fu action.

Oh it better have kung fu action. And not power suit brawler shit - martial arts. Just as the first movie retained. It's integral to PR.

Obviously we'll have to wait for the first trailer to truely tell but I have to question it...(and as a kung-fu geek I REALLY need them to be able to be mobile for this to earn my money)


Not a pre-judgement though, I'll wait for some footage.

It's part of the culture of movies now. It's not really about clicking on something or not. Spoilers are rampant and systematic.

Myself for the most part but also the spoiler happy culture nowadays with movies and television.

The photo comparison made me think that it was a spot-on theory. Not like there is much thinking in plot for Power Rangers. It's probably true.

it's really easy to avoid spoilers. like, any idiot could do it easy.

It's probably to do with how everything is online and connected these days. "Back in the day" people would have to buy a magazine to get any exclusive insider info on movies, and then they'd have to wait a month/fortnight for the next issue.

With the internet and social media as it is today, people want more, sooner.

I don't mind spoilers myself. Doesn't really detract anything from the movie for me. Just gets me more excited.

Yeah, I think we talked about this before. I don't mind spoilers at all. I'll sometimes even read the whole plot of the movie before seeing it. I don't need to be surprised/shocked watching the movie. If it's good it's good and that's it.

I read plots and spoilers all the time. What I don't like is when they spoil a lot on trailers that show on TV. It's one thing to read it but when I actually see it it becomes less special in the theater. Dawn of Justice was about the worst at it.

yo i am happy to not bring stuff/theories/etc like that in here but i thought it was relevant/discussion-worthy but i also respect people not wanting spoilers. like at least i used tags.

on a personal note, knowing/seeing that as a possibility makes me *more* excited for the film going in bc it's kind of a cool theory and would make a solid set-up for the previously mentioned conjectural second movie plot. good 'tie-in', as it were, because

Nope. It's my fault for clicking on it. You did everything right in putting it in spoiler tags. Like Ramm said I'm more upset that the internet spoils everything. It's not "easy" to avoid unless you totally turn off TV or internet until you see the movie.

I like that theory/potential spoiler.

It adds a cool twist to the PR mythos.

I am completely down with that spin on Zedd and Rita. An origin to the whole deal is untapped to this day.

Haha, I've been seriously supporting this movie and so hyped for it since it was announced.

Been reading a lot of negative reports online about the super serious tone of the teaser, and my attitude was kinda whatever. I knew it wasn't gonna be the 90's cheese we all grew up with, so let's see how the film does when it comes out.

With that said, yeah that teaser was shite haha! Nothing about it seemed overly interesting.

I dug it. Seems more serious but remember Alpha 5 is still in there. We'll see how the next trailer is cut.

I thought it was ok for a teaser trailer. Not sure what the point of morphing is if they are already super human but its not a deal breaker. Was really wanting to see the suits as I wasnt high on the pics posted but I guess I'll have to wait. I like the seriousness of it though.

Not a fan of the Spiderman feel to them having unmorphed powers. The orignals were chosen because they were all gifted. They didn't just randomly steal their Power Coins and Morphers.

Also this isn't the Breakfast Club.

Feel like they are taking too much from other media and not the show.
